Good video, he answered my question re: those swollen pods that appear after the bloom dies down. Thank you! And for the rude people, Chill Out!

Thank you! Just got two hanging fuschias this spring (NY State). Didnt know how to help them along. Very good. The nursery lady did not tell me about the pod pinching.

I left all of my seed pods on last summer, first fushcia I’ve ever had. Good to know. It also got burnt by the hot sun last summer but I kept it around instead of tossing it and kept watering it out of sadness and low and behold it grew back!!! Omg!!
It’s not as full as it used to be but I’m hoping it will be next summer. So can you use those seed pods to grow more?? That’s my million dollar question for the day! 😁

New to Fuchsia..got a beautiful hanging basket from Home depot in full bloom....But i have a problem...it seems that it needs watering daily, and if i miss one day, they all droop. I can't go away for a few days or vacation, cause it would definitely be dead by the time i come back. I do not want to repot this 10" hanging basket...cause i know i will screw it up. Any ideas, for me to go away for a vacation and save this plant?

I’ll watch in its entirety later.........saying “Hi” to viewers reminds me of my childhood (I turned 54 June 29). We had “Bimbo The Birthday Clown” on some Kid’s Show. He came whipping out on strings and announced “Happy Birthday” to certain kids. My name (Colleen) was never mentioned, so I was very crushed in spirit. I got over it once Sesame Street started. : )

I rescued a dying fuchsia a week ago, and despite using every tip in the book it is still not showing any signs of reviving. It was left in direct sunlight for weeks on end, very little water, and 34C temps. So the leaves are brittle but still green. I've put it on a saucer so it can take water whenever it wants as opposed to me guessing how much water it needs. And I've put it on a partially sunny window sill in the bathroom (as that room gets humid). Anything else I can do? I don't want to give up on it just yet.

Let it sit in a bucket of water for a couple hours to ensure it’s really hydrated and then hang it. That way it isn’t sitting in water which promotes root rot. Pinch back the branch tips and give it a good drink daily. Once a week Feed it with Bloom Booster. It’ll take a couple weeks but you’ll start to notice new buds. Good luck!

Dare I assume the host grew up in my era.....circa 1980s. I did watch but will have to search further. I was already aware of removing spent blooms. I didn’t know my fuchsia was an upright one - learn something new every day! Cute video though!

I have 3 fuchsia ricartoni planted in the ground this year out of 1gallon pots. My question is how do I prune to keep them compact to a width of 3 feet to avoid unruly sideshoots. When and how do I prune?
