I cant tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to show the growth from the cuttings. Outstanding proof of concept. Your videos are so much better than most others
Thank you for making this video! You are an awesome teacher! It was so helpful that you pointed out the nodes and even counted them. I’ve watched many gardening videos that assume you know it and don’t give detailed instruction. Thank you!
Great detail! The fuchsia I have has come from cuttings that keep being passed down from an original plant that was grown 60 years ago! I want to take cutting this year so this was really helpful, thank you.
Great detail and explanation of why you are taking the steps, ie removing some leaves, the purpose of the nodes even watering a few hours before cutting. Noone else mentions these details. Excellent video.
I received a fuscia plant for mother's day. I'm definitely going to try this. Thanks so much for your videos and showing the results also. There are so many videos on other youtube channels that doesn't show the updates after a couple months. But you do 🌻🌸😄
After I propagated and have roots, say I planted the cuttings in late summer and they rooted in little dividers in Fall. How do I keep them alive throughout the winter? We're in Seattle area (so, not too cold in winter but can get 30 deg F sometimes, 40 F is common at night) . Should we transplant them into pots and keep them indoors until spring? Thank you.
I took some cuttings about 7 weeks ago. many have already started to grow flowers. should I cut these off to concentrate the energy into growing stronger first, and let them flower next season? thanks
The house I nanny at has a beautiful fuchsia plant and the little one broke off a long branch, about a foot and a half long and woody with smaller stems growing off it, and I don’t want to waste it. there are places I can take cuttings like the ones shown here but I was wondering if it’s possible to utilize the woody part of the branch as well? Thank you for any advice!
Does the planter have good drainage? If not, move it to a planter with good drainage. If you think that plant may not survive, take some healthy cuttings and plant them separately
@@EasyPeasyGardening yesss..thank youu for replying 🙏🏻 i just bought my fuschia 2 weeks ago..repot it in terracotta pot. Been raining in indonesia the past couple of days. I put it outside, thinking the rain is good for the plant and now it’s like dying 😭😭😭

You can definitely prune them in winters but a little pruning can be done in summers too, just to keep it in the shape you like.

You can prune it which will produce multiple branches from the cut area

When will it be a good time to propagate the fuchsia?
Spring, the growth period
Do we have to propagate them only towards the end of the flowering season
Spring is the best time but summer is fine too. So either before blooms or after blooms
