@keal5528 i doubt that simply because nokia sold more phones (99% of the symbian except the N900 which is a developer phone!) than all the oher smartphones maker combined! probably the news is regarding the high end market only. I had nokias since the 3210 in 1999 then got the 3310 the 6600 6680 N70 N73 and last N96 but at this point symbian that did everything that other OS coudn't do in 2005 (when i had the 6680 then N70) is now quite old now im using HTC i have HD2 and a desire HD
@bigsteamfan competition promotes innovation. The more opperating systems there are the harder each company will work to raise the bar higher than its competition. In the end the consumer wins.

But no, they have nothing to do with it, just Nokia's idea right? So it will be only on nokia devices right? No netbooks or anything like that right?
@bigsteamfan if you really want to a smartphone to play games then you are really doing it wrong....the best is to buy a psp or a DS (whatever the version) as Gaming platform,because it is not what they are meant for on another hand the top Android phones are more powerfull than the iphone so the posibility of getting a better performance when it comes to certain games but again that is relative As for the

@theonlygus How exactly do we win ? In this constant battle everyone will come with an innovation every two months or so, and we will all want it, we will have to change our devices/operating systems on a monthly basis just because the "others" came with a new feature. Why not unite all developers into one major company so they can continually bring new features to only one platform...
OMG, Nokia you are the phone manufacturer around, why aren't you putting some of that money into developing a better OS? Symbian is way behind the mobile OS.

If you really want a gaming phone buy an iPhone, 300,000 apps, most of them games, and many of them for free, if you have the know-how... Or the second best is Android, with 150,000 apps, few of them for free, but hey, it's better than Nokia, they have such good hardware on the N8 and they ruined it with Symbian^3, which is practically a dead platform !! 5000 apps max... People need to stop making operating systems by the dozen, and start concentrate on 2, max 3 of them, and develop for those..

Change the fucking OS for God's sake. It's ugly, unattractive and it's low-res screen is just a overall turnoff. I know the phone hardware is great and everything but that operating system (OS) needs to burn in hell. Save yourself Nokia and do what Microsoft did which was to create a new OS from the ground up. They could also put Android OS on their phones but no they ignore the fans (the ones who pay for their products), they're willing to go down with buggy, laggy, fucked up operating system.
@sKunKeNsTeiN nokia phones are the worst in gaming by far. There's hardly any good games in the ovi store, the accelerometor is inferior making it difficult to play certain games, and the performance overall is pathetic

@krjcook MeeGoo is nokia OS it is made in colaboration with Intel as Meegoo= Moblin(Intel OS)+ Maemo (nokia OS).
