Business Highlight - Tent City Taphouse

A warm welcome to our new downtown neighbors - Tent City Taphouse!! Tent City opened its doors on October 2nd after working on this business venture for a full year. The newly established eatery downtown is owned by the Snead family - John (father), JC (son), and Alfreda (daughter). The Sneads take pride in supporting local communities and businesses, as much as possible - "our goal is to feature Alaskan products when and where possible. All of our delicious, unique dishes are made from scratch, and prepared by our award-winning chef".
What's on the menu?
Tent City Taphouse offers a butcher feature, a seafood feature, and a vegan feature daily. Their menu has gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. Their ingredients are locally sourced from all around the State - from fresh Alaskan crab to locally farmed veggies and cheese. Stop by for a "Local Yukon Duck Fat Fries", a "Salmon or Halibut Alaskana" or a "Low Bush Waldorf" salad.

Come taste the complexity of flavors from all around the state of Alaska in one place! The taphouse offers 24 hand-picked local beers on tap - many of which you can only find at this taphouse in town. They feature brews from Valdez Brewing, Anchorage Brewing Company, HooDoo Brewing Company, Girdwood Brewing Company, Black Spruce Brewing Company, Lazy Mountain Brewing Co., Grace Ridge Brewing Co., Turnagain Brewing, Forbidden Peak Brewing, Barnaby Brewing Company, and Odd Man Rush Brewing.
Tent City Taphouse has been extremely busy since its opening week. They are currently operating at 50% capacity which is roughly 32 patrons at a time. Guests are seated on a first come first serve basis as they are not taking any reservations at the moment. They offer to-go with curbside pick-up. They are excited to open up their upstairs next month, so stay tuned!
