Cooking on the footplate is a real (rare?) treat for us! Filmed at the Midland Railway Butterley on a beautifully sunny Sunday 3rd June 2018. Comments, questions and recipe suggestions are welcome. Enjoy!

Thanks Matt.
@@kevfrombutterley no worries I know how hard it is on the footplate
This is brilliant. Ii love this. Cooking railway style. I wonder what Gordon Ramsay would make of it? Lol
I'd be happier with him critiquing my driving rather than my cooking 😂
Can I have a go at Firing and driving please? I have spent the last few years helping to restore it. I am sure Roger would love to sample your cooking.
I can't fault you fancying that; she's a very nice machine.
Butterley's footplate experience courses offer a day driving and firing 68067 this year. Check out Butterley's website or give them a call if you fancy it.

Wow! I wish I could do that In an engine
I wonder "what does it taste like" ?
Absolutely bloomin' gorgeous! 😂
REPLYING to Lazy Cat It does taste better than hotel food We used to cook all sorts of meals on a shovel Even utilize the blow down cock for a quick meal or the flame plate as a slow cooker
Greetings That shovel is not clean We even used to wash the handle with sand and parrefin Don't you people use a spray pipe never seen it been used
It was definitely cleaned! I'd never use paraffin though. You don't want to ingest that! Take care now 😊
@@kevfrombutterley Thanks for he reply I was just referring to the handle It comes out snow white Thanks again for the memories
Don't put the blower on ! :)
I'd eat that steak!
Wash your hands before eating!
