Join me as I ride with Ray for the final passes of sweetcorn field work. #farming #agriculture #sweetcorn #farmgirl #johndeere #womeninagriculture #familyfarm
Just got done watching this video, NEVER BORING, Athough I couldn't do Rays job with the fertilising of the corn, Molly your'e a natural speaking to the camera, what is it with American RUclipsrs, your'e all just on another level, SO professional, entertaining and factual, as always thank you. Nb don't know how many videos youve done but really enjoying going through them ( not forgetting to like too 😊)..
I’m on my way to watching every video posted so far. This is so freaking interesting to me. I’m 59 and it’s never too late to learn, especially about things that are so tangible to our daily lives.
Love the long rows , I find it funny that you all operate with the back windows open a lot of the time . Corn looks good for sure . You folks can be proud of your hard work and efforts .
Corn is looking good it’s been the perfect growing weather for it ! You guys should be picking pretty soon I would think as always another great video Molly! I’ll be down for corn as soon as you guys have it.
Morning Molly, thank you for taking us along with you and Ray it’s great to see the workings of the cultivation and the feeding thanks for keeping us informed another great video you and Shaun have a good rest of the Sunday what’s left. 👍👋
I'm amazed that there is nearly an endless array of the farm implements needed and used to run a farm. Ray's skills are amazing as well, keeping the tractor straight down the rows without running over any of the corn. Your videos are very fascinating in the way you explain the processes and procedures in farming the land. Thank you for sharing, I really appreciate the videos. Have a great day. 😊
Molly! Another great video! You can tell your friends a true farmer, a man of little talk! He lets his work speak for him! Always a fun time watching the videos! I’m glad you guys are getting rain, my side of the country has been rainless and hot for a couple weeks now and my garden doesn’t like it at all! Everything on your side looks fantastic!
Omg. The crops are really looking good. It seems like we get the rain when needed for a change. I guess that means you and Shane are going to be real busy. Great video. Thanks
Hey Molly me and Julie had a good time talking with you and Shane and getting to meet both of you , thanks for the tour and taking time out of your busy day , it was nice meeting you both ! We got 3 inches of rain while we was gone and our yard looks like a hay field 🤣🤣 Stay safe harvesting the sweet corn ❤️
Thank you so much! It was great to meet you both! I wish Dave would have been around to talk to you about your farm some. I’m so glad you guys came on the day you did! I’m glad you got rain while you were gone. One thing that you didn’t have to worry about. The lawn! Hahah ours always looks like that. Cutting the lawn is always the last chore to get done for us. Have a great day! Thank you so much! You both are wonderful people! Glade to have met you :)
Greetings from your neighbors in NH! Very interesting video - I think these are really useful (as are your others) for explaining farm life and how farming works to a population who largely thinks their groceries just magically show up at the chain grocery store! I have a tiny Kubota LX2610...looks like a lawn mower compared to that! =)
Thanks Molly for the updates. You always make it very educational and interesting, especially with the different camera angles from the tractor... Good job Ray...a lot of experience...Everything growing fast...I think its going to be a "bumper crop" year! Stay Happy!😀😀
Thank you, Ray and Molly. The last time I cultivated corn it was with a Farmall F-14 with a two row side-mounted and rear-mounted cultivator, lifted with a jackshaft. About 60 years ago. 🤣🤣
Hi Molly and Shane 👋🏻 Hope there wasn't too much damage from the storms 🤞🏻 Wishing you blessings and stay safe, take care my friends and 🫶🏻 God Bless 🙏🏻 Appreciate you always 💚
Good Morning Molly at Bells Farms - I know farming is almost a full time endeavor but gosh - you and hubby need to enjoy some down time also. Have a wonderful day - Lonnie from Jax FLA.
Think I’ll see if there’s anything about farming and there you were with the boss . You guys all work well together.that cultivator does a great job multitasking..i learn so much about farming watching you all of you . I pray that God keep you well. We need all the Bells
Your dedication to cultivating sweet corn is truly admirable, showcasing your commitment to wholesome farming and delicious harvests. Your passion for nurturing the land and sharing the joy of homegrown produce inspires us all. And I am Floating Village Life
In Ontario Canada we would call that type of cultivator a 'Rotary Hoe' They were usually 6-8' wide and pulled at high speed. Side Dressing was also done with Corn and compressed gas. I forget the name of the gas. Nitrogen? Nicely done Molly and JD.
@shanebell9589 Oddly different regions has different names but the corn sweetness is over the top on some. I'm ole school an eat alot of field corn growing up.
Hi Molly. I was wondering how much fert is Ray putting down per acre and type? Straight N or a little phosphate too. I have been planting Bodacious sweet corn for a long time, are you familiar with this variety? Peaches and cream or montash is another one. Another interesting video, not much row crop cultivation here anymore, just big sprayers now.
@@user-ze7vi9kw2v right now only at the farm store. But we are getting ready to start digging new potatoes. I would wait a few weeks for new potatoes :)
How did you guess! Hahaha I think someone is coming to fix it next week, and Dave’s sprayer. I guess my tractor and Dave’s tractor are the only ones that have ac 😆

Really nice rig for this task. We just started harvesting (and eating) sweet corn down here in VA.
Hey Mollie! What is the best way to store potatoes for next years seed? So glad we came to find your channel.
Molly… if today is Sunday, you folks should be headed to Church. The sweet corn can wait till Monday.
Just saying…

Nice looking sweet corn. What is the name of it? Aces high is a top name in southern Indiana. Cultivators have come along way..😅
Solstice and Nirvana are our favorite varieties. Vision is hands down the best eating, but no one will buy it

Do you have to count the rows as you're turning around, or is there some sort of guide on the cultivator?
Ray counts the rows
That is a lot of corn.
Tassels? Does the corn do burlesque?
Hahah now that’s an idea! Haha

What do you guys use to spray the sweet corn for grass and weeds?
I agree and can see that the corn is tall.. but is it as high as an elephant's eye???

How much space do you leave at the ends of rows for turning the tractors and implements around?
wow Miss Bells, youre so fit, look at those arms. beautiful
Hey Molly, is that a former "Anderson Window" 53' trailer?
is that his tractor and whos 640 skidder is that? whats done with that from an old logger
Ray just got this used tractor this year. This one has gps for planting!
Ray uses the logging equipment to clear around the fields and for a small firewood business we have, it’s mostly just for the family hahah
Do you use satellite tracking to steer your equipment? No ac on the new tractor? Got my answer, kept watching.
