It looks amazing! I hope that it won't cause any issues in the future. A motor would be really cool. Reminds me of an arduino project I saw, which had two servos that always pointed at the current position of the ISS

Thanks Andy. Too bad it kept breaking.

Brilliant & frustrating at the same time, it'll look good all painted up, I wonder if it could be powered by an electric motor at a nice slow speed.

Hi Tich, yes it's a cool project. Would be great with a little motor!

Not all the panets, does it miss pluto like NASA do 😅

Nice model-FYI, Dzhanibekov is pronounced like “johnny-beck-off”.

Nice overview. Consider printing a different material, PLA isn't robust. I've been wanting to 3d print one of these but hesitated because my experience with 3D printing has been that most objects available for download were created by people that learned the software but have no experience or education in design, so the tolerances are too tight, the edges aren't rounded or chamfered, pieces are undersized for plastic, they don't account for shrinkage, etc.

Hi Andy, you really are plagued with things breaking or failing in some way, funny you should make an orerey, back in time there was one you could build monthly from a magazine, I got to 2 thirds building it then kinda got bored buying the mag as it went up in price..
Something I wanted to ask, did the Svbony 405CC work out OK for you, I have an Altair 294C colour fan camera and thought maybe selling this to upgrade to the cooled Svbony hopefully a good solution as ime now retired and on a budget🥴, I've recently been having fun with an ASI 585 uncooled planetary camera zero amp glow with HGV it works amazingly well on my 62ED for DSOs, this had originally been bought for my old 9.25 SCT for the planets but is now part of my travel rig sitting on a modded AZgti mount.. The cooled camera being used on 900mm fl C100ed. Anyhow always good to watch you and your projects, well done with the OU course, it looked hard👍.. Regards best wishes Tom.

Hi Tom, yes it would be funny if it didn't happen all the time! 405CC - it is very difficult to recommend any products as I really worry that I might cause someone to buy the wrong product. Or a product which doesn't suit their needs. Also many people have had no issues with it and it works well for them. I find my 405CC very hard to use. I don't know if it is me, or my local skies, or if they changed the design and it now functions better. If I had known I would have the journey I've had with it, I wouldn't have bought it. That said, others have no issues at all. If I was to do this all again I'd have bought an Altair 294c tec cooled version. Or even better a 533c tec cooled, but not everyone likes a square sensor. You might be one of those who gets a good version of the 405cc, I am still not 100% sure mine works correctly. Sorry to be a bit vague about it. Another great camera is the 269c Tec cooled Altair (touptec). It does need a full set of lights, flats, darks, dark flats and bias to get it to calibrate but the images are very good. Best wishes, Andy
