MacBook Pro A1502 - Can the Hard Drive be Replaced?

- Use this video to upgrade or replace the solid-state drive in a MacBook Pro 13” Mid 2014. This MacBook Pro uses a proprietary storage drive connector, and is therefore not compatible with common M.2 drives without the use of an adapter.
Before you perform this repair, if at all possible, back up your existing SSD. Then, either familiarize yourself with internet recovery or create a bootable external drive so you’ll be ready to install macOS onto your new drive and migrate your data to the new SSD.
Finally, I strongly recommend installing macOS 10.13 High Sierra (or a later macOS like Catalina) before replacing the original SSD from your MacBook Pro. Most new SSDs require updated storage drivers not found in versions of macOS prior to High Sierra.
You can get a OWC AURA PRO X2 SSD for this mac book - I just upgraded mine to a 480GB one it has the same apple connector. Tested and works fine!

For 20 bucks you can buy an adapter that allows nearly every NVMe SSD to work with your Mac. I have personally upgraded my 256 GB 2015 MacBook Pro to a 1TB Western Digital Blue SSD with over a GB/s on both read and write, all for under $200 CAD.

Have you not even considered the various adapters available on Amazon and eBay..which will easily make this upgrade possible?…
…..also…there are plenty of new ssd drives right up to 1T that are available on eBay…..seriously..you need to dive a little deeper before you put this content together….this could screw up a lot of people…keeping them from even considering what is essentially a very easy and cost-effective ssd upgrade.

Can I remove the hard drive of my dead MacBook Pro 2015 retina A1502 and install it in any other MacBook Pro or do I have to install it In another identical MacBook Pro 2015 retina A1502 to save my data, pictures and documents? Is there another way to save all my data, pictures and documents, like with an external hard drive or ? Please help me I have countless pictures and memories on that hard drive. What is he talking about? You can definitely buy 512gb boards on ebay. There are also non-apple ones for sale. Flexx Memory make a 2TB model for this drive, no adapter required.

I looked at flexx and this model it’s says you can’t upgrade :(
There are no RAM slots. 8 GB of RAM is onboard. It cannot be upgraded after purchase at all.
@@gabigarcia457 I wasn't talking about RAM, I was talking about storage space. Yes, RAM is soldered to the board so you're stuck at 8gb, but SSD storage can be upgraded.

Gabi Garcia …Gabi…it’s perfectly easy to upgrade this right up to a 1Terrabyte. 8 gig of RAM is plenty for most people using a laptop for conventional requirements. My daughter used this laptop for 6 years..no problems. Don’t be sorry..it’s a great machine!

Just came back from Calexico. Another video shoot of the border wall, border fence. Just keeping my viewers up to date. The border in Calexico grew significantly. Much taller, thicker metal bars and fortified on the US side as if the US government wants to prevent you from leaving the US.
