I see a lot of NIN fans and how they took the leap, kind of like Halsey to change her sound in a way, listen to her discography. I love when people open up and try new things. I've been a NIN fan since....forever, and I try to find new sounds and songs, been a fan of Halsey since finding her when she first started out. I highly enjoy this album. I'm not pregnant, but I relate to these songs on a whole different level. The fact that she wrapped her love, confusion, fear, frustration into this album about her baby but also about her love for her partner, it helps to relate to it. Albeit I relate more to the relationship aspect, but the stories she wrote. I love it. I geek out when there's collabs of artists that aren't necessarily the same genre/sound. This is my favorite album. All the songs are my favorite.

I have listened to her music not knowing it was Halsey, I just thought that it was a random artist, however when I learned that Trent and Atticus were producing this album I got excited. I've been a fan of NIN and the work of Reznor and Ross doing film scores. The album I just love it. It's amazing, I'm guy but I feel the lyrics, the effort and hard work to make an album, not random music. Now I'm going back to listen all her music and it's amazing. I geek out when some songs are similar to Pretty Hate Machine, or The Fragile or The Downward Spiral or even Year Zero. It has a bit of everything that NIN has made all over the years. I'm obssesed and each song is important, not filler.
If NIN does a new album, they should colaborate with Halsey. The Lighthouse is a proof of it. The final 90 seconds of Trent Reznor is great.

@@micahjohansson7573 ohmygod yes! I heard Tradition, sounded familiar but was like "nah, can't be." And when Lighthouse came on, the melodic tones of the piano, and then at the last minute mark I hear Trent's voice and Halsey harmonizing, I geeked the f out. And that was when I looked up if Trent was composing/producing and it was confirmed. Such a great moment. I agree wholeheartedly. This has And All That Could Have Been vibes to it, since he went a little more into his instrumental, piano sound. Its one of my favorites from his more slower songs. The song Lilith has his older sound, and Girl Is A Gun is definitely has the more industrial/nu metal Lost Highway - A Perfect Drug feel with how Trent gets chaotic and loud with his composing of instruments. I loved each song and the nostalgia just made me geek out so hard core. It sucks the NIN tour was canceled again this year, I just really want to go to a concert, especially a NIN one. Also, I hope he releases a new album, if not, him and Atticus just composing for movies is fine, I just want to hear Trent's voice more. I'm not over my teenage angst just yet, even though I'm 26. lol. But overall, definitely a great album, I can listen to each song on this discography, which says a lot. Kind of like The Wall by Pink Floyd, its meant to be played throughout since its a story. So each song is fantastic. I like albums that has more than one song I like. So I'm definitely getting this vinyl.

As someone who went from knowing Halsey as that "Closer song girl", to liking a few songs on Badlands, to being very neutral to her artistry in that I dont love it but I also don't hate it, to secretly catching on to her authenticity and wishing she really taps into it.... This record has been a long time in coming.
Manic was the album to make me believe in her and THIS album cemented the faith. I have no clue what she goes onto do from here on but this record right here will always be something special.
I was always amazed by how much vitriol and bad press she got all the time. No matter how good or bad you find any of her previous works, it was always authentic to HER. Even in the derivative nature of her old works and her all "I make alternative music, not pop music" phase she was authentic and being herself. May have been distasteful or cringy at times but the growth is visible.

I've been a Halsey fan ever since she went viral on Sound Cloud, I've legit seen her grow right in front of my eyes. I've never found another artist who I can relate to as much as I can relate to her work. When she expressed how worried she was if we as fans would find this album relatable or not, I laughed because my girl has a unique talent when it comes to writing songs. She tells stories through her songs in such a way that everyone can find a piece of themselves in it. Her lyrics can be interpreted in multiple ways and it shows how skilled and genius she is as a songwriter. She calls it a pregnancy album but it has thousands of references to different topics, most of which have never been explored or expressed. I'm glad she made this album as raw as it can get rather than making it "pop/acceptable" Love the growth in her, love how happy she is at this time, wishing her the best! tonnes of love and support

Watching her grow as an artist and as a person (in the ways they make public) has been really inspiring. They're the only public figure and artist i really feel and see the raw honesty and growth and just vulnerability through what she creates. I'm so proud.
I've never liked Halsey's music for self deprecation, but like they said I found their honesty relatable regardless of the subject. I think her identity is recognizable in every album and their writing reminds me of the kind of lyrics in early-mid 2000s emo and softcore and its always touched a very nostalgic place with vivid imagery for me. I can't speak for other fans but I'm glad she is able to finally allow herself find happiness and be happy because i know their honesty and art will always be there regardless. All I've wanted was for her to be happy and to create! Ash deserves to be happy & I'm so happy to see them say that and feel that.

I love this so much. I literally have tears in my eyes because this album screams HALSEY! I kept waiting for it since it was announced and counting down the days. It is THAT important to me because I get to hear this kind of music that's different and on the other side of the spectrum of what I usually listen to (it's all BTS by the way) so that's a nice touch to the whole picture of all the art I consume on a daily basis. So thank you, really.

I've been a Day One NIN fan & I was intrigued once I heard that Trent & Atticus would be producing her album. But I love how collaborative the album is but still sounds like Halsey. I'm glad that they didn't compromise one fucking bit. It makes the music that much more meaningful & special.

56:11 this is so funny to me cause i was 13 too when badlands came out. I remember my friend making me listen to colours and i fell in love. Couple weeks later, remembered that song, tried my best to search for it and then fell in love with the entire album. I literally grew up with halsey kind of like an older sister to me. And coincidentally, her albums came at a point in life when i related to them or really needed them. And they mean so much to me. It's wishful thinking probably but one day, i hope i can tell her this too. Iichliwp is an amazing album, thank you for it halsey, much love from india TT

Exactly this. Im in the same boat, but I heard Ghost on soundcloud. Truly a life changing expereince. Every album H has put out has been at a pivotal part of my life, and I felt like shes guided me through my teen years into adulthood, and i wouldnt have it any other way. I met her in 2018 and we talked about it. Shes amazing.

Been a NIN fan since Pretty Hate Machine, and definitely fd with Halsey since their first album. Always loved the “sugar coated” NIN vibe and hoped they’d lean into it more. I was overjoyed and shocked when I heard they were working together and this album’s even better than I could have hoped. I genuinely hope they continue to work together!

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross contribution to the Watchmen Marvel series is also seldom discussed. Their vibe and voice informed that series SO strongly, I have been waiting to experience this again with a treatment of another artist's work...and here we are. Fabuloso

I've been listening to NIN since I was a teen, like so many. And I have been a fan of Halsey as well for a few years now. I think this collaboration is creative, emotional, beautiful, and I'm really glad that they did it. When I listened to the album from start to finish I could really hear a dark emotional but also happy story. I love it! Its different and that's one of the many reasons why i think its so great. It's like two worlds colliding and I wish more artists would branch out this way!

I have so much new respect for Halsey and Trent and Atticus after this interview. The topics they discuss was so human, close-to-home, genuine and heartwarming. When they talked about all the topics, they weren't coming from privileged point of view. They were really down-to-earth. What an incredible conversation.

Halsey always said she wanted to do this kind of album but I'm pretty sure her record label twisted her arm and pretty much said if you don't do what we say we are gonna drop you., I've always thought of Halsey as more than pop she a genre on her own...Most of her collabs are more pop than Halseys songs.. I'm glad she got to work with who she wanted to and she must of fainted when they said yes lol. Love Halsey is a genius and is meant to be an artist she touches so many people with her music.. I don't know how life would be if I haven't stumbled on to this beautiful souls music...
