Blackhat (2015) Flick Pick Movie Review - Starring Chris Hemsworth, directed by Michael Mann.
You wouldn't review Battle of the Five Armies but you would review this ?
That's because I'm utterly Insane! I actually did shoot a review for it, but had technical issues with the video and the next day I came down with a fever (which lasted a week). Once everything was said and done I just lost the urge.

I was just thinking 'wasn't his brother in a similar dumb ass movie?' Just finished Stuckman's video, 2 back to back reviews for a movie that I have very little interest in means it's a for sure pass.
The Thor films are not terrible (They're not great though), but RUSH is seriously the ONLY FILM that I believe Chris Hemsworth did a fantastic job in.
Yep. Beyond "Rush"... I haven't seen a Chris Hemsworth movie that I've liked him in! The Thor movies WERE bad! (At least in my opinion - which I realise is subjective.) And he was the worst part in that Snow White & The Huntsman movie too - and when You're worse than Kristen Stewart, it's time to find a new day job. LOL All in all, he's skated by on his good looks for too long now. When will people get a clue? He's just not that good of an actor. There's no way I'll waste $ on this, which is a shame, because I've enjoyed Michael Mann movies in the past. (Collateral, Last of The Mohicans, Heat, etc.) But this looked terrible from the get go! Hemsworth as a super smart hacker?! He looks like the guy You'd hire as a bodyguard for the actual hacker! 😛 What shit.
I think he'll do a good job in The Heart of the Sea
I thought the Cabin in the Woods was awesome as hell.
Scott Behnke I think he does better when he's surrounded by a strong cast. It sort of "hides" his ineptitude better. lol 😉
KabbalahSherry well I really really enjoyed Thor 1, thought Cabin in the Woods was awesome and I thought he was great in avengers and enjoyed rush. He didn't really have much of a cast and wasn't really the main character in cabin. But I think hell be okay. Outside of Leo DiCaprio you can't sell a movie off star power anymore
i know chris hemsworth doesnt fit to typical hacker stereotype but i liked him in trailers. i thought that this movie is gonna be awesome because it had so many things going for it:
thor whom i adore, amanda waller and some chinese operatives with the direction of michael mann that should have resulted in one kick ass hacker movie!

So Thor failed at being a computer hacker, now we'll have to see if Doctor Doom will be any better
Michael mann is clearly senile now, public enemies was a decent film but it would've been great if it wasn't needlessly recorded digitally.
I thought i was the only one thinking this! My issue with the movie is that the main character is included in the buy bust operations when he's the hacker..a hacker! Why does he need to be doing the action sequences. it's risky to have him in there. He's not supposed to be the Tank of the team.😆

Well, I thought it was really good and I've heard its better than Taken 2 which is the one I haven't seen yet so I'm not missing much.

You are bang on sir with everything you said. Uninspired, boring, poor production value and terrible script. I will add that Hemsworth was mediocre at best, without a shtick his acting is questionable.
I am watching it about 30 minutes and was bored to death, and had to be rescued with CPR, then I see this review and would be happy to follow your advice of NOT watching it
About the whole computer hacker typing across a keyboard not being as interesting as the circuitry shots, you need to check out David Fincher's The Social Network. By GOOOOOODDDDD! he made mark Zuckerburg creating a webpage one of the most exciting moments of the movie.

just my own thought, I think you can try use different background setup or different shooting angle that make your video unique.
I really like his background, its different from everyones and he lights in in a cool way. Jeremy just has a boring red background, Schmoes have 2 random posters and Stuckmanns is interesting but not lite up and clean as Flicks.
I hated Blackhat, it was terrible and not believable... It would have been better if they used Colin Farrell's character from 'The Recruit' to have been the main character. I would have believed that at least. He had the computer skills and the CIA training. Anyways... Disappointed

luckily I did not pay to go and watch I got invited to special preview and my local cinema. So I was totally disappointed for absolutely for free. This pretty weak attempt for to thrill us with camera shots. The concept of the movie sounds interesting but the movies execution was really poor.
John's right - DON'T SEE THIS MOVIE! I'm a real die hard Michael Mann fan, and this movie is the end of the road for me. I'm just done with him. He's lost the magic he once had, and I couldn't walk out of that theatre fast enough when the end credits hit. Also, the cinematography in this movie is just BAD! First, the digital video look needs to die a horrible death here. Save it for some crappy found footage movie. There was so much shaky cam that I couldn't watch it anymore. Felt worse than a Paul Greengrass movie. Looks like a cheap docudrama shot with a shitty camera. It's sad when a 2014 Keanu Reeves action movie has INSANELY BETTER cinematography than a Michael Mann film. How you go from something so brilliantly shot like Thief, Manhunter, The Last of the Mohicans, Collateral, Heat, or The Insider to this is beyond my understanding. UGH! Stay home and rent something better.

Great review John :) The trailers for this movie honestly didn't look that good in my opinion. I will give the movie a chance though so I'll see how it is in my opinion but I'm not really expecting anything at all. Keep up the awesome work man.
