So absolutely true!! That’s what’s really so tragic about this whole movie. It’s amazing to me how the CIA and Hollywood create a propaganda film that glorifies our presence in the Middle East as if the U.S. is the hero to the rescue. I never looked to anyone of these people as heroes at all. The Western presence is a continuation of the Crusades. Nothing has changed…It’s simply the West stealing the resources of another weaker nation. And what does it really all boil down to…real estate…OIL!!! Black Gold!! and a bunch of Westerners trying to advance their government careers all in the name of selling them “cheap democracy.”

Ehh, I can understand your feelings given the scene, but don't conflate this with the real experience of many CIA officers. I can assure you alot of those "civilian desk jockeys" are fairly experienced and have more time deployed abroad than many service members (and many of them are veterans themselves). And while they aren't front line troops, they have definitely faced their fair share of danger. Also, if you've watched the movie, you know that Jessica had 1) survived a car bombing earlier in the film and 2) had spent alot of time developing al-Balawi as a potential source. So the "never been shot at" and the "bag and tag" comments are off base.

Could've, should've, would've; but I think a tactic that would've worked in this situation is to put the driver at ease by opening up the gates, but as soon as he passes the first gate, close it and put troops behind him, like an ambush. Then conduct a search or engage as required.

I still don't get how this movie lost to Argo.
And another thing that stuck with me, the first time i saw this movie, is the soundtrack. It's so beautiful, always underlying the scene but never overpowering it.

Chapman was named after SFC Chapman who was killed during Operation Anaconda March of 2002 in Paktia Province, Afghanistan. He was leading a number of
trucks filled with fighters recruited by the US. His convoy was struck by an AC-130..by mistake. A number of others were killed also. Chapman is in Khost Province near Salerno which is an operational base..at that time with elements of the 82nd. Chapman became a launch point for CIA and other operations along the Pakistan Border. This tragic incident was the highest death toll since the bombing of the embassy in Beirut years earlier. North of Chapman as due west was where Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire. Afgh/2003-4 05/11A
Are you sure? because im pretty sure he died while his seal team were trying to recover one of there lost squad members who's body was positioned near multiple bunkers on a mountain filled with terrorist. maybe we are thinking of different chapmans??
@@Nic-ku8bm He sounds confused, perhaps he was referring to camp Chapman and lost the plot midway

I just noticed the black cat crossing the street just before the car meets up with the team. Nice touch.
Was right next door in Salerno when this happened. Sad sad day.
Its very sad and tragic that 7 people got killed.but Why the hell you folks were there at first place...even now you are leaving practicaly handing over the whole cou try to same taliban guys...so why did you even went there...killed innocent people and got killed...sad sad state of afairs when we see the outcome of the so caled war on teror...hope the peace prevails

the blonde ran right away
She knew what the fuck was up. Unfortunately, just a moment to late.
She was from Oklahoma very used to this type of shit
This scene always makes me mad. They totally didn't follow protocol and it costs lives. It's war time. Trust is reserved for the person next to you.
Still remember the first time seeing this and catching the blonde booking it while thinking "fuuuuu, she'll never fuckin make it..." :(
We had NO IDEA what we had gotten ourselves into. This highlights that nievety.
🤔 I think the blonde was the person that called to Langley to report all months of investigation just went to shit together with about 10 operators, including the chief of operations... just I hope she stay happy in her home💐😌
While they're telling the guy to take his hand out, I think I saw her in the right-background running away from the scene, so it looks like she could have survived. Based on that, I think you might be right!

Oh the amount of people that have been in Afghanistan let alone the amount that have stepped on FOB Chpaman is amazing in these comments
Great part in the movie, even though they know he will do this all they can think about is their careers. Very telling.
I kept thinking of scorpions and turtles. "Good cause", lol.
The real video of the explosion is even more disturbing.
Soucre or link please?
Wow so the real life footage of this is more disturbing? Who would've guessed the real thing is more disturbing than the re-enactment!?

well i can definitly say aint nothing like this will ever happen again aint no one breaking protocol like that
Never turn your back on anyone, you never know their true motive.
I always hated how this so called "professional" acted like a little kid that is excited for Christmas, and completely ignored all safety procedures, not only endangering herself but also others who actually would follow the procedure.
What on earth is a mother of three doing taking that assignment in the first place? Let alone soccer mom-ing it up.

I can’t believe these operators don’t know how to wear a drop leg holster.
they are actors...pretending
@@robertkennion9020 Judging by alot of the comments here. Alot of people don't understand this.
@@robertkennion9020 if you’re gonna go all out making it look real real with the gear, at least wear it correctly.
@@CableDawg496 The point still stands... they are not "operators". They are actors.
Yeah I don't know if you know this or not but this is a movie and movies have whats called actors.
Prefer military, Special Forces or CIA paramilitary officers not this civilian desk jockey who has never been shot at never had trial by fire so yeah they're all dead cuz of her because she thought that this was just some other guy you get info out of without knowing the risks our dangers
@@pwnage1731 despite those with some experience as you say I would still prefer if agents work with Delta, Devgru or CIA Black Ops if high-risk situations like this occur

What about all the blood on your hands? The Vietnamese, iraqi, afghans etc who have died in the name of American imperialism. Bet you don’t give a fig about that.
@@niceguy6152 All western nations have that blood on there hands. The reason the middle east is what it is today is the westerns fault. First in the name of a made up god now in the name of money.
Well, you're watching a movie. They were actually doing the act. Enjoy your lazy boy.
@@weareworkingonit Well it is a cycle I suppose certain period in history where the "west" has been the backwards shit hole and the Middle East the flourishing civilization and vice versa one can only wonder when the the west will disintegrate or become the shithole again.
They should’ve let him come in through the first gate and then blocked it then he couldn’t have left and they could’ve searched him just inside the perimeter and never let him into the heart of the base And he couldn’t have took off and if he had nothing to hide or anything on him then he can proceed to completely ignore him all the way in is ridiculous
Could've, should've, would've; but I think a tactic that would've worked in this situation is to put the driver at ease by opening up the gates, but as soon as he passes the first gate, close it and put troops behind him, like an ambush. Then conduct a search or engage as required.
They weren’t capturing the guy 😂. Shoulda just stuck to standard procedure.
@@Mdautkreix I believe they were short on guards that day but decided to push forward anyway.
Only someone with something to hide would not want to be checked.
The first time I watched it, and I was too young to know about Camp Champan, I totally did not expect that. When I watched the movie for the second time - you start to understand what they were going for. You know how it is going to end, you know that the fucker was a triple agent, and so you start to feel the tension. The whole build-up is painfully slow, the cake, the instructions, waiting and waiting, painfully long ride to the building. And then - conclusion. And the whole time you just know what is going to happen - but you have to sit through that pain. AMazing
Jessica Chastain was great in Zero Dark Thirty!

The foreshadowing from Hollywood is amazing. Did anyone see the “black cat” cross in front of the car?
Probably just a cultural misunderstanding guys.

That’s what happens when you get complacent in a warzone. I can get why they just let him in since they thought he was a trustworthy source it’s just unfortunate that their trust was betrayed.
