Do you not see that of course Biden did that. He saw that bill as something to help get drugs off the streets, and away from more people like his son. No that was not the solution. Decriminalizing all drugs to remove the black market, to then allow people to get help easily, is probably closer to the real solution.
I've seen a lot of positive reactions to it because they believe it's a "f u Trump" kind of move. The reality is that it's a big "f u" to taxpayers/middle class, and just another example of how the rich and powerful allow themselves to get away with anything. The problem is that his wife wanted him to be better but she did not understand his pain and suffering, nor the severity of his addiction and illness subsequently - just tragic He must have been pained deeply by the death of his sister, mother and brother.. then he likely felt like a failure all his life for not living up to his father and brother and wife whilst having a severe illness of addiction.. As someone in recovery, who has relapsed a bunch of times, I have no sympathy for this dude. Every time I've relapsed I've had to pay the full price. I've lost everything and had to start from the bottom, and I don't believe I'd be able to stay clean if I never had to pay the consequences.

I think that if Hunter had gone to jail, it might have helped him wake up. I think being shielded from consequences has hurt him. At this point I think it is pretty clear either through drug use or other issues he has some mental issues. He is out of control and if there is no serious intervention he will eventually wind up dead from drugs, suicide or drug deal gone wrong.

This could've been really great in helping Biden (and the US gov at large) get a fair understanding of what works to stop drug use and what does not work, with an actual family being affected. We all experience reward in similar ways. I would go as far as say at those who enjoy status and fame may be more prone to addiction, both are related to chasing a dopamine hit.
Probably moreso than us common folk. If you're rich enough to be able to do anything whenever you want, I imagine it must get a little boring. Think like when you were a kid and any treat your parents got you when they went grocery shopping was a TREAT, but now that you do your own shopping and can get whatever whenever it's rather dulled the specialness of it and you now get your treats more out of habit than joy. Now the special treats are the ones at that bakery you live just a little too far from or is just a little too expensive to visit often. Things need to be just a bit of reach to bring joy, and the ultra-wealthy have no limits except space. Their lives must be very easy but very dull - not dull for our standard of living but dull for theirs.

The laptop came from a computer repair man in Delaware who attempted to contact the FBI for months to turn in the laptop and was completely ignored by them. He then contacted the media after months and only the New York Post would even touch the topic. And lastly I’m not saying Hunter Biden is running for office. I’m not saying his drug addiction or other mischief has anything to do with public office. Sooner or later your bottom will get lower until that place is worse than anything a court could do to you. That place will either kill you, or you will make life better. More charges will not help anything.

I think that if Hunter had gone to jail, it might have helped him wake up. I think being shielded from consequences has hurt him. At this point I think it is pretty clear either through drug use or other issues he has some mental issues. He is out of control and if there is no serious intervention he will eventually wind up dead from drugs, suicide or drug deal gone wrong.

We all experience reward in similar ways. I would go as far as say at those who enjoy status and fame may be more prone to addiction, both are related to chasing a dopamine hit.
Probably moreso than us common folk. If you're rich enough to be able to do anything whenever you want, I imagine it must get a little boring. Think like when you were a kid and any treat your parents got you when they went grocery shopping was a TREAT, but now that you do your own shopping and can get whatever whenever it's rather dulled the specialness of it and you now get your treats more out of habit than joy. Now the special treats are the ones at that bakery you live just a little too far from or is just a little too expensive to visit often. Things need to be just a bit of reach to bring joy, and the ultra-wealthy have no limits except space. Their lives must be very easy but very dull - not dull for our standard of living but dull for theirs.
I gotta say it's kinda sad to me that a lot of people's take aways from this story is that Hunter Biden should have went to jail for what he did. Don't get me wrong it's despicable that someone can get away with it just because they're rich. But I don't think people should be in jail for personally consuming a substance that has does no harm to anyone but themselves. The war on drugs is extremely damaging to our society.
