(1) he never would have come on hard times that is usually considered "rock bottom"; (2) I find it fishy that he always relapsed around certain events like LA visit, bro dying, etc. In my experience the relapse happens well before this and is just used as an excuse.

As someone in recovery, who has relapsed a bunch of times, I have no sympathy for this dude. Every time I've relapsed I've had to pay the full price. I've lost everything and had to start from the bottom, and I don't believe I'd be able to stay clean if I never had to pay the consequences.

His "Navy career" enrages me. He was completely unqualified for a direct officer's commission in the Navy Reserves. He was too old, had a lengthy drug history and several arrests. That he popped on cocaine on his first or second weekend tour of duty is beyond comprehension and beyond shame.
The sailors he worked with must have had no respect for him at all because of how quickly his drug pop was reported to the Wall Street Journal. It could have only come from within his unit which happened to be public relations, the very people who regularly work with the media.
The icing of the cake was that pathetic public "apology" released trough his lawyer. Anyone who served in the military was appalled and laughed at him.

Court consequences are not needed. This is exactly the issue with the current system of recovery. You remember how bad things got at bottom? Sooner or later your bottom will get lower until that place is worse than anything a court could do to you. That place will either kill you, or you will make life better. More charges will not help anything.

Counterpoint, the internet is massive and search results or the search terms needed to get to those results aren’t always obvious, especially if the results may be censored. The person asked you for evidence of a claim, the burden of proof is on you. What evidence specifically did you see that convinced you of what you claimed? What webpage was it on? What was the name of the article?
They’re trying to see what convinced you for themselves, this is a golden opportunity to spread your belief, to convince someone of your claim, all you had to do was share the evidence, but you didn’t do that. You instead fired back with a grouchy non-answer which torpedoed your claim’s credibility as usually people that answer a request for evidence the way that you did don’t have any evidence to back up their claims.
If you do actually have evidence of your claim then prove me wrong, share the evidence that convinced you.

He wasn't close to border or smuggling it as far as I know. Michigan has been medical for a long time, and I've never met anyone get a DUI because a cop thought they were high. Still unacceptable for someone to get a possible prison sentence for it, especially when they're a medical patient. If it was Hunter Biden they wouldn't have ever searched or stopped him lol

I remember buying weed back in the late 90's way before facebook was around ! Personally I think it was a lot safer then , than now ! Plus back in those days the drugs were real and safer to use. I would not take any drug now unless it is a natural. Its a different ball game now with the technology they have.
