I found it helpful to write out my notes in the following format: [House #] will suffer when Saturn trines [8th lord] or [12th lord]. What i am understanding is that when saturn is making a trinal aspect to ANY planets, AND if that planet is the ruler of the 8th or 12th house from ANY sign/house, then you can experience suffering/stress related to the houses ruled by that sign that saturn is trining and saturn is transiting. So you need to know the rulers/lords of ANY house and see if saturn is making a trine to the planets that rule their 8th and 12 houses. Let's say you want to know if you will experience stress related to your 1st house/body. Then look at your 8th and 12 house lords/rulers. Find where those lords/rulers are placed in your chart, then look to see if saturn is making a trine to either of those planets. Or if you want to know if your 4th house of home/mother will experience stress, then look at the ruling planets/lords of your 3rd house and 11th houses(as they are the 8th and 12th houses from the 4th, bavat bhavam, sorry not sure if i spelled that correctly, aka derivative houses in western astrology). Find those planets in your chart, then check to see if saturn is trining them by exact degree with a 5-6degree orb of influence. If they are, you may see stress happening to your 4th house area.
:) honest just check trines and if planets that are trine to saturn rule same elements. then check these confluencing signs to which house are they 8th and 12th....for instance if saturn trines mars and sun, check the house to which aries and leo are 12th and 8th from.in this case it would be virgo so you would take the house where virgo is.
Its an intermediate technique. It will feel much easier the more you work with these techniques and get more familiar with introductory concepts like "8th lord from a given sign".
I’m currently going through BOTH Saturn return and Sade Sati. Also, it seems like this technique is currently applicable to my life. Really tough time.
When Saturn was in early Pisces trine my natal Moon and Jupiter activating Leo my 6th house. Struggled with health and also was dealing with government agencies for Visas etc. My partner's visa got denied and he couldnt join me overseas. Now Saturn is on my first house cusp but my health issues are still not has bad as they were when it was hitting exact trines to those 8th and 12th lords from Leo.

not really. effects MULTIPLY. when saturn is aspecting something that is the lord of difficult things (as in this technique) there is a multiplication effect there.
Right now, Saturn is trining my natal sun in Cancer in the 4th house, so that means that I would have stress in my tenth (Capricorn) and sixth (Virgo) houses? Career, and health. Also interesting for me that you used Saturn and Venus as an example because I have them conjuct in the 3rd house in Gemini So I think that means that when Saturn is in an air sign between certain degrees it will affect my 11th and 3rd houses.

Example: Mars rules aries ( fire) and Scorpio ( water) and exalts in Capricorn ( earth). Except for mercury. Mercury rules gemini ( air) and virgo ( earth) snd exalts in virgo ( earth). Why is this? Whats special or lacking in mercury? I know sun and moon rule only one house (element) each and exalt in another, therefore only strengthened by 2 elemets. Does this mean mercury is almost as powerful as the luminaries? Not needing a third element ... If you speak about this in any of your videos, please let me know.
If interpretation is at the level of 'house activation', does the exact degree of aspects matter? Each planet will express itself in the matters pertaining to the house for the entire duration of its transit, so aspect by house should be sufficient. Degree aspects seem like they'd be more important maybe in calculating timing of some kind.

I have to re listen again. Must be my mercury retro, natal. Im leo,.jupiter rules my 8th and of course the moon in cancer rules the 12th house.

mercury exalts by balance. the others exalt by the right amount of off-balance.

I am Leo asc and with 3 planets in Gemini and 3 in Virgo, Gemini moon and Jupiter in virgo, and trine in air or earth screws me.
Saturn is in my 8th house now and I almost died 3 times last month. About right. That is why I love astrology. Makes sense. Just like reading a map
