Funny thing, I subscribed to their Frenchpod101, Germanpod101, Chinesepod101, Spanishpod101, Russianpod101, Hungarianpod101 channels. I am shocked they have so many channels dedicated to helping us folks learn languages. I think after a year or 2 of getting Japanese basics down ( depending how quickly I learn Japanese, but am not in a rush ), I am gonna move to Chinese probably. I wanna learn the hardest languages for an English speaker first xd. Do or do not, there is no try.

It's common in Nihongo. If a character is put on the another place other than first place, it changes the pronunciation. For example: the kanji character for mountain 山 has an onyomi "SAN" if it is place in the second place like volcano 火山, it would now be pronounced as "kaZAN" Hope this will help you 🤟

I’ve no idea why…but I thought and/or felt like learning another language. I’m not sure why Japanese because NO ONE speaks it in the southern U.S.
At least not to my knowledge. But, I think it’s a bit easier to learn for me because of the timing aspect of it. Mainly because I’m a musician.
I surely appreciate them slowing the word down & how to properly pronounce it.
This will be an interesting challenge. Maybe one day…when I’ve money & have overcome my overwhelming fear of flying…I might go to Japan! That would be fun!

some similarities between Korean and Japanese: in Korean, sigan means time or sometimes, hour while in Japanese- jikan means an hour. interesting
