Perfect explanation for the problem with the state education system in this country. I wish we had more heads like her!
This is so amazing and so truthful as a middle school educator of Special needd for almost 30 years. People always think I am so mean to my special needs students because I make them do their best, not mine, but their best. I expect nothing less from them. The world is a scary and mean place and I want every child I touch to know how to make their way. My mother-in-law used to tell me I was a "B" because I made my kids do their chores and clean up after themselves. They are productive, caring young adults today. They have called me many times to say. Thanks Mom because you taught me how to get on.
Teachers (or bosses, or coaches) push you hard generally for the same reason - they care and they know what you are actually capable of. Bravo.
YES!
Amazing woman
Brilliant ❤
Short-term gain (“kindness, compassion, love, happiness”, whatever), leads to long-term loss (of the true versions of those things).
A truely amazing woman. ❤
I love Katharine and don’t think she is mean at all. Katharine is the solution to end social chaos and to produce intelligent, critical thinking, informed young adults. God Bless you Katharine! ❤️🇬🇧🇨🇦
i fall in love with this lady- real rolemodel
Perfect explaination...away with victimhood
From the woman who said Christmas adverts were offensive 😂😂
Did she?
Yep
@@HH_Theology Tbf, the John Lewis ones are pretty offensive considering how cringe and vapid they are
@@Rootle2 I would say cringe but not offensive but I do agree
@@HH_Theology That's fair. When I say 'offensive' I only mean offensive to me personally. In this day and age "offensive" sometimes has the subtext "this should be banned", but that's not what I'm meaning
Exactly
I wonder what her approach to a child such as I was. Not all children are badly behaved. I was clever shy an introvert sensitive and did what I was told because I was agreeable. But I did not thrive at school. Too many people too noisy too regimented. She does seem to be a good teacher for certain types of children but many if not most state school pupils who are most pupils are not actually like that
Thank you for your thoughtful comment and question.
Her school has a silent corridor policy so that children arrive in the class quietly and that teachers can start teaching quickly with all of the attention of eacy child on the teacher.
Her classes are thus orderly, calm spaces where children can learn rather than noisy spaces where everyone is shouting over each other and teachers who have lost authority.
I cannot help but wonder what must have happened to this woman in her own childhood
Everything right clearly.
Spare the rod spoil the child...
Lady they have already lost like they are already at school
That’s some schools but in Michaela full potential is achievable
Failed English lessons I see.

You are mean by stopping children from praying. Education isn’t everything. A stars don’t stop you from getting depression and other mental health issues. Mindfulness isn’t enough, sometimes a person just needs to be able to connect to their creator, to a higher power for inner peace so that we can make sense of our lives and why we are here. You are just jumping on the bandwagon to create a Godless society because of your own deep seated prejudices. And that is very wrong.
People can connect to their creator at home. At the same time the people who think she is mean by stopping prayers at school, are the ones with deaths threats, harassing the teachers and throwing blocks into to the school, so quit the nonsense of religion. Religious practice is personal and individual so keep at home or mosque.
She’s in the right. Having children self segregate based on religion or race isn’t productive.
her school is not single sex, and it is a non-religious school. People were instrumentalising the permitted prayer opportunity to harrass and abuse others. She did the right thing. I would not want strange boys being able to monitor and observe my daughters prayers, and this was the only way of guaranteeing the privacy of the act.
We need more Katherine Birbalsingh in every single school in the UK to protect the school from Islamic thugs. That cult ideology doesn't fit in a pluralistic society and that should be taught in every school as well.
Children can pray at home and in church/mosque outside of school.
