Buy the watch you want, and dont get in to debt.
And don't spend your rent money ✔️😁🍻
Bingo, too many collectors have no financial competence...nothing in the watch world is worth running on a debt treadmill for. 👏👏👏
So few!!!
My limit is 10 watches after that I will have to sell one to buy a one. A self control rule I made up. 🤷🏻♂️

Came here to argue that not everyone can afford a Rolex and that there's lots of great affordable watches out there that are worth buying... wound up agreeing with basically everything you said.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a Rolex I’d buy even if I had the dosh! Two rules I follow when buying a watch... I need to like it aesthetically & it must have a reasonably good quality & reliable movement!
I like the distinction you make between cheap and inexpensive watches. They are not the same.
The “Invicta Boys” sounds like a Disney channel boy band.
I think they used to open for the Cheetah Girls...
I have a Pro Diver, and can confirm. Though, god knows we're always off-key.
Casio’s classics are cheap, G Shocks are cheap. They are also ones of the greatest & reliable brands of all times.
Canon Bares I do. They just work. From retro cool to G Shock tough, fun & functional.

@@thebeerdedone7568 haha! Those watches are so amazing though. I plan on getting an edifice, and 3 20 dollar casko wqtches
@@thebeerdedone7568 Absolutely, they just work & are fun & you don't have to worry about being mugged for a blinkin watch!
Being a Japanese watch fan boy I clicked this video with my pitchfork. But when you clarified that you meant "cheaply made" I sighed in relief and I became the friend you never knew existed.
@@hepta5040 European watches look great. But Japan is the nexus point of fashion, functionality, and price point. Can't beat Japan.
jap watches are fine except over priced casio craps
i love orient and hamilton, seiko, casio.
Depends where in life you are financially and socially. Id rather buy something for under 500$ and spend the big bucks on my baby that is underway. That way i can still enjoy horology and live a normal life. I'm sure there are also many other monetary expenses much more vital than a high end watch for most people. But if you are well set and don't have any other responsibilities then this is a great advice.
💯!!! I have two kids and a morgage to pay. There is no way, I will buy a Rolex. I love my SKX007 and my SARB033 to death.
Exactly! It's easy for single guys or those without children, a house etc. to spend big bucks on luxury items. Then you grow up.
95% of the world population will never buy a watch over $500.00
Luxury watches are jewelry for men.
Quality watches can be found for under $500.00 but the consumer MUST research.
@@marcsalomone4175 Haha, so true. I only can image the way the conversation would go. "Hey honey, how would you feel, if I use our family's holiday money for the next three years to spend it on this nice shiny Rolex watch?" 😂
@@ElBoyoElectronico You forgot the reason.. "Honey this will only appreciate in value"! Lol.. Its retarded what the re sellers and fan boys have done to the market.. And lets not kid ourselves.. The internet and these re sellers have squeezed the prices.. Everyone wants whats in, or whats cool. No one wants to be left behind.
The only thing with a 'Grail Watch' is. There is a possibility that when you eventually get it your tastes may change and it just becomes another watch in your collection ie you get bored with it. If you then decide you want to sell it, and depending on the brand you could lose a ton of money. I guess it comes down to quantity over quality.
Logan Smith picked up my grail watch pre owned at about half price for this very reason. I also waited a few years before I made the purchase.

Yup, also how many guys do you know that stop at their grail watch? I feel that most men, in genera, set goals, reach them and then move on to the next goal. It’s just the way it is.
There's a difference between cheap and affordable , none of my watches is above the $ 1000.00 mark and I'm very happy with all of them . Whatever other people think … that is not my problem . I buy my watches for me , not to please or impress other people .

100% agreed.
@@johnmuthan286 I totally disagree, yes, lots of the lower tier Longines uses standard off the shelf Swatch movements based on ETA but the movements are great and case quality are also really good. Besides the benefits of being part of the Swatch group has reached the consumer, in my opinion the prices are very reasonable for what you get.

@@mariog7213 Those brands are great for people waking up to a new hobby, or just a fashion accessory.
@@mariog7213 it's not the name it's the watch, if you like it you wear it.
Luckily I learned this lesson from previous hobbies before I got into watches. If I had just saved up and gotten what I really wanted in the first place my guitar, gun and motorcycle collections wouldn't be nearly as large as they are.
There is an interesting psychological factor in wanting to acquire something, which objectively is not worth the price. However, just the struggle, waiting and sacrifice to get it motivates folks to begin the quest. I think that there is a lot of dopamine involved in the waiting, yearning, planning, and longing for that Rolex watch. It is called the grail watch because the object (made out of steel in a modern factory) becomes something almost transcendental, magical and holy; it has moved into the realm of the sacred. I imagine that many once they finally acquire their Rolex, they then realize that it is just a watch...and not a transformative object and they are disappointing. For many it the waiting and anticipating which is more fun that achieving the goal. That is why many watch collectors will buy and sell the same model of watch over and over again. Once they get it, they do not want it, so they sell it, then they want it again, and the cycle continues all over again.
Most Rolexes not worth their price especially older ones. With the crappy end links and bracelets etc. Those old rolexes are still very expensive for what you’re getting. Even the new ones aren’t really worth it. It’s not just me saying this a lot of watch guys agree. Most youtubers don’t bash watches they like (Rolex) But they should be honest with themselves. You have a few youtubers like Bruce Williams and Random Rob who review everything and don’t jump on bandwagons. 😉
I’m not a Rolex hater but vintage Rolex is the most overrated category in watches.
I like the Rolex watches but I hate the brand and the snobbiness that comes with it.
Rolex puts a huge amount of expertise in the movement and it’s development. Most competitors are just shoving a Seiko or an ETA in there and spending money on the shiny bits. Of course they look like great value. Sorry, but to say that’s a superficial conclusion is being very polite.
Rolex absolutely are special. Special enough for the prices? Probably not. But in the end, it depends on your priorities and just how Much of a watchist you are.
@@kellypaws Maybe true but they recoup advertising costs by price gouging.
@@PepRex I would not characterize it as "price gouging" as Rolex is not providing you with something that you absolutely require (I mean, you can buy a Timex if your primary concern is knowing the time). Rolex sells a luxury product; same as an exotic car (or you can buy a used Prius); or a luxury apartment overlooking Central Park, NY (you can rent a one-bedroom in a more affordable area). Rolex knows what they are selling - a well built status symbol. Only a fool buys a Rolex when that purchase does not figure well into their actual finances. I have a Rolex and an Omega and I can tell you that the Omega, at less than half the price of the Rolex, is essentially the same quality of watch. But, at least, I recognize this and understand why I purchased both.
A Tag aquaracer quartz might be over priced - but not the Monaco. You just can't trash an entire brand as there are models that are worthwhile.
@John Gentile ,He does that. He got on the Tag hater band wagon.
I totally agree but will add that I have a Tag Professional quartz that I have had for over 30 years and it has never failed me despite lots of abuse. I also don't think that the new Aquaracer Calibre 5 is "vomit" worthy. I got one for $1500 and it is one of my favorite watches. ETA movement, nice finishing, good specs. I am totally content with that money spent. I also own G-Shocks, Rolex, Old $50 Hamiltons, etc. and love them.
I have the TAG Aquaracer automatic version. People can hate on it all they want but I went diving with it and forgot to screw down the crown and the watch has absolutely no issues. I just knew I ruined it when I noticed it. Yes TAG made some questionable watches in the 80's and early 90's but they make a good quality watch. People hate on TAG, along with Mr. Goodman here because they've been told to without actually looking at them. It you took the label of their watches and people didn't know what it was their opinions would be totally different.
It is all right if you are saying that Heuer and Tag Heuer are two "different" brands.. He did recognised that in his previous videos.. But Tag Heuer itself is RUBBISH, and by that extension, the Tag Heuer Monacos are fucking RUBBISH..
I picked up a CAF2110 (Aquaracer auto chrono) used for $700 and it's one of my favorite watches. Over 10 years old at this point I think, but it runs great and I love it!
I buy homage watches before pulling the trigger on a grail. This gives me the chance to get a basic look and feel of a style. If I'm convinced, I give the homage away (or sell it) and buy the grail. I've found this to be very useful. 4 times out of 5, I end up giving away the homage because I don't like something or another about the piece.
Eg: Panerai Homage (Kimsdun) which was the same proportion as the Panerai I wanted was incompatible with my daily wear and styling. I fond it too big (44mm) and cumbersome and therefore I dropped the idea.
Bottom line is that if chosen sensibly, homages can be a great litmus test for a grail. Sometimes they pass the test so well that you drop the idea of a grail. I ordered a Green dial Loreo which is a Submariner Hulk homage. I ended up liking it so much that I've kept it. Rolex wait time and other things put together made no sense for me to wag my tongue around and wait for it.
Currently I've just order a Parnis homage of the Rolex GMT Master II. I've heard from the reviews that it is very well put together. Looking forward to checking it out.
I buy what gives me joy and therefore value. I’ve got Chinese specials like Cadisen which I love and have great value for the money, but are ‘cheap’ in price. I could care less if my watches lose money value because that’s not why I buy them. My new car lost value the second I drove it off the lot...again...don’t care because it gives me joy!
I'm glad I watched this a while ago as after 3 years, I finally pulled the trigger on a accutron spaceview 214 and I couldn't be any happier with that purchase. And it's much more rewarding after these years to have that m7 humming on my wrist. Thank you!
Watches that I currently own: Seiko 5 Sport(currently wearing), Citizen Drive(discontinued), Q2 SWATCH, G Shock DW9052, US Polo association dress watch, TFX unknown. Only one I don't wear is the TFX. Luckily I didn't pay anything for it.
All of them seem perfectly fine and I have had all except the swatch and Seiko for years.

I am not gonna lie, I think the Autavia looks kinda cool
Also, I can't believe you didn't mention Hublot
The hate on Hublot is next level for Jory. Currently he's stuck with the Tag Heuer flak. If Tag Heuer had sent him a Carrera at the dawn of his channel, we definitely wouldn't have witnessed the anti-Tag stereotype.
@Zs B , haha. Yep. Instead he holds some junk watches in high regard and bashes Tag Heuer? Tag is far better built than some of these watch showed on here. New tags are even better built than these hollow end link/bracelet rolexes. How dare I speak of Rolex in such a disrespectful manner!? Relax, I have several and find myself reaching for my Tag.
Hector Orozco. Exactly. This guys knowledge is novice level. He has no idea that Tag Heuer like Seiko is a three tier watch company. Tag Quartz is garbage. Their Aqua-Racer, Carrera, Autavia, Monoco are not. I reach for my Autavia quite often. My Explorer 214270 as well. His knowledge is sub par. Weak.
I agree, that Tag Autavia is a stunner!
Yes the Autavia is stunning, tried a few on last week and could be my next purchase 😀
I'm no longer able to consider saving for a grail due to pretty much a massive change in circumstances etc . Totally agree about the quartz TAGs, or quartz anything, for that matter, over about $200. I do have a TAG auto, however...a TAG 2000 auto (ETA 2824-2) that I bought in ‘04. It was my first “nice” watch, & it still runs well & looks decent. I probably wouldn’t buy another TAG, though; there’s just so much out there that’s just as good/better, & less expensive. Case-in-point...I just bought a Glycine Combat 6 (Sellita movement) for $300 & it’s really nice!
Great video and subject Jory. I totally agree with you not buying a watch based on the price but buy it based on value for the dollar. I think there are a lot of micro-brands that do a really good job of packing value for the money into their watches and I think you will agree with me when I say that Serica is one off the top of my head. Thanks, Brian.
Well, Tag quartz on display at a jewelry store got me started on watch hunting/researching. It was $1300 for a Tag quartz, so I didn't want to buy it just yet. After months of researching I bought Oris Aquis instead.
I think working harder and saving for a watch is a good practice no matter the price range, you will appreciate it much more in my experience
Actually, it's a more serious question than you think (unless you have virtually unlimited funds). I have to ask whether one of my reasonably attainable "grail" watches, e.g., a Glasshutte Original Senator Hand Date or a JLC Master Control Sector Dial, would make me happier than my current three favorites: Zodiac Olympos Military Chronometer; Christopher Ward CW65 PVD Black; or my trusty $249 Certina DS Podium (a 38mm go anywhere, do anything classic)? I prize comfort, light weight (arthritic wrist) and readability.
I have done just fine getting in and out of popular inexpensive used watches. You loose money when you buy not when you sell. But there's always a market for SARB, SKX, Bambino, Ray/Mako, etc. May as well wear one or 2 of them for the year or 2 your saving for that grail watch. You can always sell them when your ready to use that money on the next step.
O me God. I av a Invicktoor watch in my’s colletsion! Befour I bort it, I was the best spella in my familee!

Great advice. Watch enthusiast almost always go by way of different journeys but without exception end up at the same destination. Overall your better off saving for your grail watches rather than settling by buying a bunch of cheap watches just to scratch that itch. Great episode. My second watch was Tag - but it is an automatic and I would say that it was pretty affordable (around 1000) - I got some kind of discount at AD in Spain. Some time after my purchase and after doing a lot of watch research I regreted that purchase. But now, looking and wearing that tag, I like it a lot :) It is formula 1 caliber 6, I think they do not produce it anymore. It is my go to steel mechanical sports watch. It is of great size (41) and it has 200m of WR and it keeps great time. Would I buy another Tag ? No. I think I would go for something else in that price, but I think that my Tag for the price was a good buy.
Oh and also I agree with what you said about buying quality watches while waiting for your "grail". I bought the king Turtle (black dial on bracelet, J version) and currently I am saving for Tudor BB 58. Is it going to delay me ? Yes. Do I regret buying that watch ? No. It is a good watch. I also think that I will buy at least one more watch before I get to BB58. I can wait - patience is a good thing.
There are watches from brands that keep their value; and watches which fall. And, this occurs at all price categories, and it is generally the naive and ignorant who get screwed. The only difference is that the higher the price, the more money is in play to lose...or possibly gain if one is very lucky or cunning. Generally I do not think that watch investing is the best investment, and it should only be undertaken by those who are shrewd and knowledgeable. There are also missed opportunity costs; that $15,000 could buy stock, or property or beautiful antiques. In the end folks have to decide whether they are buying watches because they want to enjoy then and/or for an investment. My advice is, buy what you really like and as long as you can afford it, do not look too much at the resale price. If you really like a watch, you will not need to resell it and try and recover what you spent for it. The problem is that so many folks do not know what they really want, and are too swayed by temporary fashion. Once the fashion passes they do not like the watch. They only liked it because it was in style then.
I don't really have a grail. And that's ok. I just can't justify spending so much on a watch.
I have had a few invicta watches, I love the automatic movement. $80.00 for a throw away watch is okay with me. That cheap crystal always scratches and it doesn’t keep time well. I tinker with timing automatics and an $80.00 to trash a watch after three years of use is fine. I never liked digital or quartz watches but this first GSHOCK watch I just got I absolutely love.

My Hamilton Chrono (50’s era) has disappeared. I Enjoy Your Videos! Thank You so much for the great Reviews! Best Regards, Gary
Wanted to buy a Longines Hydroconquest ceramic. But I realized that the L888(from ETA) movement lowered the frequency from 28800 to 25200 just to have a longer time reserved. It's been said that higher frequency has better stability. I just can't accept that adjustment. Even they didn't lower the frequency, the time reserved for Longines is too short, my Seiko Sarb 033 has more time reserved. So this beautiful watch looks cheap to me right away. I am saving for Tutor. In house movement.
Christmas 2017 I wished for an Armani watch and got it, I own some nice Seiko dress watches now, but the gift I got back then means a lot to me even though its a fashion watch and I still wear and tbh I love it.
What's your opinion on Junghans? Especially the meister driver chronoscope on a bracelet?
I bought my grail first, then once I was broke from buying it, I bought very good watches under $1K. About one a year.
Thanks to youtube and people like Jory I get great information about high quality watches at reasonable prices.
Good observations. I speak as someone who wore a Tag diver (and dived with) for years, but I have to say for the price of a new Tag, I could buy 3 Certinas or a Sinn, Oris, Longines etc. Buy what you want, just dont go into debt for it. Just think twice before a gaudy Invicta.
What's your view on Louis Erard watches ? Is the brand completely trash or the do offer good watches at reasonable prices ?
I bought many ultracheaps. Thought there was a cause to it someway somehow.
Now I have a few Sub/Daytona/G-shock homages and I'm much less hungry to buy more. I've topped out at €65/ea or so. Compact collection when scrapping the crappy cheaps.
I don't think my Pagani and Loreo pieces are disposable, I can swim in most for sure. I might actually upgrade the movement if it would get to that. But with an SH35...why?

Bought a TAG Aquaracer WAP1112 for 421 dollars Canadian sold it for 750.00 Canadian. Yeah it was a bad investment. I then bought a formula 1 Red Bull edition for 680 Canadian. I love Tag Heuer (a few of their models), but you are a 100% right, better value for money out there. I appreciate you being honest. Oh and, I can’t understand Invicta either. Keep it up!
I paid 40 for my casio AMW330B on ebay. It tells me the time. It gains 20 seconds a month. Fairly happy with it. Will I pass it down? It's a Miyota movement. Get real. However when swimming and not wanting to take may phone to tell time it's perfect. An F91 would have been good too.
This is VERY well said. I love Omega and Rolex but my wallet does not support, yet. I would have to save for 5+ years with my current salary to buy a true luxury watch like that. So I spent 125 USD on a Orient Ray 2 which is an awesome alternative and it's a solid watch. Replace the crystal and band and you can make it pop as if it were a 1000 USD+ watch and couldn't be happier 🤷
I got a orient kamasu with a green dial, really solid watch but it’s weakness is the bracelet, like pany watches so i bought an aftermarket milled clasp and a few nato straps and it’s really good
My reasonable grail watch is a Zenith El Primero, but that won't stop me from buying a $150 Seiko if I like it and I think it's high value.
What's your view on Ball Watch & Oris?

I couldn't agree with you more on this video. When I first started collecting watches I was that guy buying all of that junk thinking I was buying great watches. Fortunately now I know better. I would be curious to know what you think about some of the newer tag stuff like their new Heuer Autavia line. Also, I agree that paying a $1000 for the tag aqua Racer quartz is a waste of money.
I received a g-shock DW 5600 as a gift and it has changed my watch tan into a DW 5600 tan. It really is the best watch I own.
Any time you buy a new watch (aside from those "low production" Rolecks and the like) you're losing money.
In almost any price bracket, buy used, wear it for a bit, and sell for a similar amount to what you paid.
I understand your point and enthusiasm, and the energy you need to display on the channel to captivate the audience, but please reconsider your comments on the Tag Heuer Aquaracer WAY111-101-201-211, CAY211. I own all of these watches, including the 43mm pepsi GMT. They are well built, good movements easy to service. Quartz version has the second hand hitting the marks, great foot print and dimensions, and one of the most interesting bracelet designs for C-shaped end links. Not the best buckle, but competent and reliable. The blue dial is amazing with the sunburst effect. Store pattern dial also has sunburst. NO SHIFT ERRORS ON THE POSITION OF THE DIAL, like some expensive entry level watches, including my Omega 40mm Speedmaster Racing. Dates across models will quick shift-click around 11h55PM to 12h05AM. 300M resistance at 12mm thick. Rodium plated indices and hands. Immaculate dial and writing. Rock solid crown-stem, AR coating under crystal. The crown thread is hidden in the stem tube to protect the screwing path. The automatic 41mm has the same thickness of 12mm. The cyclops on the WAY211 auto is smaller than the rolex but magnifies at least 2.5x. Please try the watch and handle it yourself before sharing such reactions. The watch is overpriced, but it is the most original and integrated design for the fraction price of a Submariner, doing completely its own thing. It can truly be an worthy alternative, and very available. Totally a good attainable luxury buy, and secondary market prices are excellent. Hope this humble little lesson will help you better inform your fans/customers.
Hi, Adrian. Jory won't reconsider his comments. It's just trendy in the watch community to hate on Tag. As I'm a car guy I own a Tag Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 (43mm, non-skeleton dial). It's an awesome & handsome racing chronograph with COSC accuracy. Wear your Tag or any watch you own in good health!
@@zsb707 Thank you, its not a big deal, it wasn't my intention to sound like a total fanboy or an Tag AD hehe. But I wanted to put this out there, having been very pleasantly surprised with the brand when I started collecting. I had many questions and doubts as well at first, but I had to share my good experience. I value his thoughts and presentations, but sometimes its not good to let such declarations pass when one knows better. I'm happy you enjoy your watches as well. A pleasure, Good day.
What say you:
$42 DW5600 or $72 for DW5600BB (blackout version)?
Just curious where y’all land in terms of aesthetics.
I think the blacked out version is amazing (on wrist right now). The negative display might be a little less legible, but it definitely definitely looks "cooler" :)
Tag made a ceramic Aquaracer that I’ve been wanting and will probably buy, because I had a Link that I wore for 15 years, beat it to death, and when I was tired of it, I still got a reasonable price for it. Most men’s sports watches are too big for me. The watch companies don’t really make sports watches for women. Omega made the women’s sea master, but it is no longer in production. Most of those on the market are beaten up. I have a 36mm Breitling that is too big and heavy for me. Maybe the Tag Aquaracer’s place is on a woman’s wrist.
Bought 2 watches for under aud1k. Seiko coutura solar perpetual and Bulova marine star....both awesome watches. You don't need to pay an arm and a leg or be in debt to have an awesome watch.
Yeah us Tag Lovers are here. Though the love of my Tag life is the F1 automatic. I agree the quartz is not worth it. T3 please differentiate your opinions between the Tag quartz vs automatic. Still love ya dude 🤘
I understand what you mean. I recently got into seiko and Casio watches and they are great. I also noticed Invicta watches are so big and cluncky. It’s gross!
Hey Jory, you ever thought of maybe include Certina in some of your new videos? They've got tons of cool history behind them and they're highly underated, their DS concept is pretty cool. I just bought a certina DS first Ceramic, it's a quartz but it's a diver that gives you that submariner vibe while still having it's own unique design, it has a domed sapphire, made 361L stainless steel, water resistant to 200m, decent blue lume, polished and brushed Finnish with a really cool certina turtle logo on the case back, not to mention a really nice screw down crown, 41mm, really cool watch, picked it up on eBay for a steal, I believe the reference I have is now discontinued though.
Hey.. How about higher end Tags like Monaco or Carreras Heuer 01 and 02?
All very good points. I personally won’t start collecting luxury watches until after my mortgage is paid off first. Doesn’t make sense imo but that’s just my mindset. I enjoy and have fun collecting inexpensive watches so long as they provide value at their price point. Seen lots of expensive watches with cheap quartz movements and mineral crystal and then some inexpensive homage watches with sapphire and automatic movements with impressive accuracy for sometimes under $50. I’m sure guys are all over the place on how they feel about this video haha. 😎👍
Great video.. yeah DW5600 & the Orient Bambino..what else do you need lol
For best investment avoid any kind of fashion watch, especially if they skimp on quality...and that includes several very expensive Swiss brands such as Panerai and Henry Miller. Go with good quality and timeless styles-this is why the Rolex Sub has done so well-preferably from established watch brands what are well managed and think in the long term.
My friends, your thoughts on Baume et Mercier watches? Are they cheap watches or something of value?
Btw that $1600 Invicta is pretty awesome, it has three torpedo-chutes on the side even. How cool is that.
The first Invicta pictured in this video was a Sea Dragon that sold new for $140 (this watch never sold for $1,600). The second Invicta pictured was a Venom that retailed for $200 (this watch never sold for $2,600). I have sold hundreds of Invicta watches over the years and I have almost always sold them for more than I paid for them. When purchasing, I do try to get the best deal so that definitely factors in to my resale calculations. Invicta watches do hold their value and they are a good investment. I know that my experience is not unique. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and everyone has different taste. To me an Invicta looks so much more interesting than most luxury watches. Invicta is a great deal for the money. They are well built with better than standard movements.
What kind of watch brands can you recommend at the moment?
1. Brands around 50$
2. 50-200$
3. 200-500$
4. 500-1000$
5. 1000-2000$
Three to five per price range. Or more ))).
What kind of brands you suggest never to look at?
Thank you.
zapper28 1. Seiko, 2. Seiko, 3. Seiko presage , 4. Seiko presage , 5 grand seiko quartz
@@histevenhere - authorized retailer in da thread? ))
Seiko is pretty obvious choice. Thanks anyway.
zapper28 haha no no just seiko fan boy . On my 6th grand seiko and it all started with the sarb033
Interestinng vid... as a watch newbie I'd say bad watches are a waste of money and that if you spend time researching, and deciding what you do and don't like, there are good watches, and bargains to be had at any price point. At the moment my three watch collection contains my 'everyday' Orient Mako II, a dressier Bambino, and a mecha-quartz chrono from Dan Henry. None cost me more than $400, I love 'em all, and they all work for me. Sure, they most likelly won't go to my kids on forty years, but equally I don't see them as a waste of money compared to something from Invicta etc. They are what they are, inexpensive sure, but they work for me.
What about those quartz Seamaster 300m ? Those have to be trash too according to this logic. But you wouldn’t say so cause it’s an “omega”
The TagHeuer he mentioned has a basic and inexpensive quartz movement and the watch design offers nothing special and looks basic as well, while the Seamaster has way better design and the quartz movement is made by Omega. The prices for both watches are almost identical and i'm pretty sure almost everyone would take the Omega over the Tag any day of the week.
Love my longines hydroconquest grey ceramic. Its probably as far as i will go money wise but i do believe it will last me for years and years.
For our sake , hope it will last much much longer .... mine is hydroconquest blue ceramic lol
@@alvinchua6284 lovely piece sir congrats. I was torn between the 2 but chose the grey. Have you seen the new green versions? Very nice. I wish you good luck with yours.
I have the Longines Big Eye Chronograph and love it.
@@VersedNJ longines is a good brand that really did not get enough love nowadays .
Lot of good quality and affordable watches out there between the $300 - $700. You nailed it with Seiko and Hamilton. I would also throw in Glycine and Squale.
My only question about this video is does the $1600 invicta watch actually the price I mean I bought an invicta pro diver series gmt watch that looks like a rolex yacht master for like $60 but the little price tag said $895 lol
I love Tag. I bought an Aquaracer Calibre 5 and it’s great, one of my go to watches.
My wife recently told me to stop buy cheap watches and buy proper one for sum of that money. Good point that cheap one doesn't mean bad one and vice versa. I prefer quartz. My daily driver is Seiko SQ sports 100 from '78, mint condition (100$). Absolutely love it. For fun I have Casio CA-53W. My grail would probably be Certina DS action diver in titanium (precidrive).
I was on a cruise ship(not with Kung flu) they had invicta watches for $800 on sale.
I got one for a work beater for $70 when the ship docked bac at Melbourne
I agree with you. I saved my money and just recently was able to get my grail watch...a Cartier Tank. I'm happy with my collection but now for my next grail…...
I love and appreciate your watch reviews but you are wrong on the Tag Heuer. I have two Oris Diver Sixty-Fives, Seiko Shogun and some others. I also have a Tag Formula 1 calibre 5, all purchased new. Both Oris watches have a crown that always feels and sounds like it's stripped or in between settings since the day I received them. The Shogun has the expected misaligned bezel and rough crown action. The Tag is perfect. The crown is absolutely precision as is the bezel. The case work is fantastic and looks awesome on the wrist. The bracelet has been upgraded recently on the newer models and is fantastic.
My grail watch is the #43 NASA owned Speedmaster lost in 1971 when Buzz Aldrin sent it to the Smithsonian. I suspect if it ever turns up, it will require some sort of military coup. How do you advise me to proceed?
Have a chat with Valdmir Putin. Tell him you'll trade him for another Super Bowl ring.
I have a Seiko 6119 8490 my grandfathers and it works without any problem
No flames here. I respect your, spelt right, opinion. Overall, I am satisfied having spent just under $1,000 on 27 watches. I really enjoy my Invicta Pro Diver 39002. Is it perfect? No. It has a decent movement and cost me $75, about the price of a mediocre meal with wine at a restaurant. I expect to get 5-10 years, and I am fine with that. I also bought a quartz Franck Muller Crazy Dial homage for $20, about the price of a large pizza. I wear it 2-5 times a year and I enjoy it. I bought a $20 Tevise Submariner homage to see if I like the whole Sub thing. I put it on a NATO strap and wear it much more than I expected. I also spent $10 on 3, yes 3, field/pilot type watches. I was pretty sure I did not like field/pilot watches and after trying to wear them for 3 months I was right. Oh well, I guess I had to sacrifice a Big Mac Meal to get that lesson. I am actively looking for G Shock I might like. I want an analog dial with a digital readout in a size and style that suits me. I have a few more very inexpensive watches that have positive utility to me. I have also bought some less expensive watches that I regret buying. The Seiko Flightmaster, the Nomos Lambda homage, the Parnis sterile dial GMT. The Parnis is interesting in that I really like the watch, I hate the fact it is a sterile dial. I will probably swap dials shortly. I have spent just under $1,000 on my 27 watches. I have 5 I regret buying, 7 I wear so infrequently that I really should not have bought them, But I have 15 watches, all under $200 and some as low as $20, that I enjoy. I am on a journey to buy at least one "real" watch that I can hand down and be remembered by. In the year since I started buying these "cheap" watches I have learned 10 times more than in the previous 2 years where I was just watching RUclips videos and looking at watches online and in stores. Overall, money well spent.
Please do a video on how you justify 14k on the explorer over say... a $300 seiko Samurai or a micro brand Zelos $600 diver? Other than buying a name.
I'm new to horology, trying to build a collection with inexpensive watches. Recently went to an Invicta store at an outlet mall. They had numerous watches under $150 and BOGO. Exactly the deal I wanted. Still walked out of the store without buying anything. Everything was too big, too blingy or too heavy.
