@@DDumbrille No, it isn't good, but I love watching Farley Granger. This is social history, whatever remains on screen of these old actors talking about the way their lives were.
Was it difficult for you to be in films at this time? For crissakes. Ever see him in `Rope` or `Strangers on a Train`. The guy is a classic. One of the Hollywood greats from the Golden Age!
@@sandrashevey8252 hey, I thought the comment you responded to refers to the questions the interviewer asked to Granger which was embarrassing. why did you block him/her?
Hitchcock was always forced to work with `B` actors excepting Cary Grant and James Stewart. The `A` list would not work with him. He had asked, badly wanted, Gene Kelly to play the part played by Walker in the film. But Kelly turned it down. Kelly would have been perfect, perfect. On `Frenzy` he wanted Micheal Caine and Vanessa Redgrave. Both rejected the roles. He was always stuck with a second-rate cast and yet look at what he did with it. Hitchcock is so great, so great!
Actor Robert Walker was Alfred Hitchcock's first and only choice to play the part of "Bruno Anthony" in 1951's "Strangers on a Train." Robert Walker gave an outstanding performance in that role.
@@walterwheeler5465 Sorry but Gene Kelly is quoted as saying he turned the role down and wondered why the director wanted him in the first place. `I`m a nice guy`, Kelly ranted `Why did he want me?`They went to the same church (The Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills)
Wonder how Granger felt about `cheating the public` particularly women fans?! Didn`t seem to have many scruples. Hitch tried to palm off his daughter on Farley (on whom he probably had a crush) while making `Strangers`.
I think a good many women had crushes on old Farley. I just loved him in Train. What came through to me is if he didn't want a date with me, he'd be great company over a few brews. Nice man. RIP.
his autobiography is xcellent.
Today Commemorates Farley Granger's 95th Birthday
Great interview! I loved watching Farley Granger in movies. I’m going to buy his book now.
NOT a great interview. The woman is SO uninformed it's ridiculous, not to mention insulting to her guests.

I read Farley's book Include Me Out years ago. Very interesting!!
Love to watch Farley Granger, especially in Hitchcock's Rope.

Was this show produced in 2007? It seems like the introduction looks more from 1971
Aye aye my boy ROBERT CALHOUN
Most of the studios put people under contract TO loan them out. It was a business. Loan-out was a big part of the `business`.
Beautiful long term couple. Sadly Robert died a year after this and Farley in 2011.

Kelly, as great as he was, would NOT have been better than Walker. Walker was wonderfully and perfectly cast.
Robert Walker was mesmerizing in Strangers On A Train. Amazing, underrated actor.

Are you serious? Joan Fontaine, Laurence Olivier, Joseph Cotton, Teresa Wright “B” actors???
Short chapters..short attention span...this is the way things are going...
