Something SUPER cool that you may have missed: Fairmount has very close associations with British royalty. Many branches are named after monarchs & have references to monarchy such as calling Canada Post by its old name (ROYAL Canada mail), using Royal palace chandeliers, etc. Now here is the cool part: Queen Elizabeth was infamous for wearing tiaras especially when she was a princess, and this hotel gave your daughter a princess tiara, with symbolic implication being that she is a queen in the making!
Hi Chris. Such a beautiful property to stay at no matter what time of year you visit. Love how they kept up the hotel without losing the old charm of the place. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Been to LL twice. First time as poor back packers at the local Youth Hostel. Went back 22 years later with a beautiful rental 4x4 and ate in the wonderful hotel restaurant overlooking the lake. Irony is we stayed again at the nearby Youth Hostel in a private room. Old frugal habits die hard. 😊
You say this is 2 bdroom suite? The 2 bdrm suite on the website says only 1 room 1 washroom, different layout than the one shown in this video! Im looking for name of this exact one u stayed at
If you had came in july or aug, and if you were in one of the wings that didn't have AC you might not have given it 5 stars. Point in fact all three of the fairmonts in the canadian rockies all don't hve AC. And it does get hot here in the summer. The Chateau Lake Louise is almost a paradox, it works best for someone who wants to do a lot of hiking and canoeing but those who are into that could never afford to stay there. Still, it's a cool property. Sadly both the Chateau Lake Louise and the Banff Springs hotel have put up a lot of those 'hotel guests only' signs. Both those places are national historic sites and they should be more open to people who just want to look around. They have been in years past.
When were you at the Lake Louise Fairmont? I was interested that you said the spa would be built in the next couple of years and we are going in May this year (2025) and its supposed to be just about finished by end May?

I’ve been there on my wife and I’s road trip from her home in Anchorage, AK to Orange County, CA in 2018. What a place!

Agreed. They should be more open to the public looking around
Did you get the room upgrade because you were Yellow productions or did they not know who you were?
I don't think they knew who I was
Kids food is not complementary at the Alpine Social. Currently here. Service has been average tbh
It was when I was there. Did you tell them you're a hotel guest and do a room charge?
of course. Definitely not complementary (we have 3 kids and stayed in hotel suite). Our stay was underwhelming for price paid
We have stayed at Fairmont in Toronto and in Quebec Frontoneck and they are all grand with their chandeliers too.
I guessed 4.5 Tophers. I was close. I was sure the price would bring it down a notch. Hope you got my suggestion live stream about the Buses. :)
Close :)
terrible hotel

I was there in May of 2024
Absolute stunning nature but such an ugly grey brown block of a hotel... ☹️
?
@@mreppen1 well, take look at the scenery! Beautiful nature and than an ugly block of concrete...
@@oliverseitz9215 have you been there? I have. I disagree, but cool.
@@mreppen1 yes! And it would be much better not having this ugly hotel there.
