I very much enjoyed the whole video. It was a great overview of a trip I want to go on. The specifics of your trip were very helpful. I encourage longer videos. Thanks so much.
Hi Chris. What an excellent road trip through the Canadian Rockies. Canada is such a beautiful country. You could enjoy the natural beauty while you were driving or at the places you were staying at.Glad you all had a wonderful trip. Appreciate you all for the effort and time you put into making this video. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Very well done.🤞🤙😁
This was SO FUN! Love these long videos of your family's travels! Also really loved the small appearances of OCGirl, I hope we get to see more of her in the future! Thank you for taking us along on your adventure!
Looks like a fun time for all ages. Great vlog watching it. Time went by fast for the lenth enjoyed it very much. I will watch it no matter the length of your vlogs.😀 Always appreciate all the hard work that goes into making the vlogs. Thank you
Really enjoy the extra long vlogs, Chris! And thanks to O.C Girl for her efforts as well! Thanks to you both. Looking forward to the other videos in the series.
Yay Alberta! Even as a Calgarian I forget how awesome our province is sometimes. On a side note, I've been fortunate enough to travel the world a lot the past couple years, and your travel videos have been absolutely invaluable to me. So many great tips, and things I probably wouldn't have done if not for your channel. Thank you so much!
Excellent video ! I really like the long video version. As a Canadian I think you did an awesome job showing off the Canadian Rockies and the beauty of Banff, Lake Louise and the surrounding areas. Very informative , gorgeous pictures, and video footage, makes me want to go back again . Now that you've been to the West Coast, you must come to the East Coast and visit Toronto Ontario, and the Niagara Region. Thanks Chris really enjoyed watching this video.
Fun Fact: The Calgary Tower was actually built in 1967 and complteted in 1968. It used to tower over all of the downtown buildings but now you can hardly see it with all of the new buildings.😅 It was awesome to see you come to my home city and the mountains, great video!
Thanks so much for letting us join you guys on your vacation! This was wonderful - will look at the hotel reviews Really love the long format- and appreciate it I’m sure it takes a lot of work the production quality is amazing because of all the information (by the way sound effects were hilarious)
Love the video - Banff & Jasper are on our bucket list so this will definitely help with planning! Scenery looks AMAZING! Also really enjoy the long format (though not a fan of the sound effects each time you mention a time or do a taste test).
Absolutely fantastic video! Sorry you missed Heritage Park, it’s awesome. The Waldhaus Restaurant at Banff Springs Hotel is so much better for fondue than Grizzly House (which used to be good in the 70s). It’s nice you included Calgary as well. Even off season, the cost must have substantial to say the least even with the great exchange rate for Americans. Lastly, coming from sea level to this much higher altitude, you did great as it can feel exhausting until the body adjusts. Oddly too, food has less flavour punch at higher altitudes. Glad to have found your channel!
California Linda shares great family video, a return road trip is planned for 2026, as our last visit was in 2016. The Calgary Stampede was a lot of fun and the West Edmonton Mall unbelieveable. Princess would enjoy the Pirate Ship. Thank you for the great restaurant and hotel reviews . 🎉🎉
We decided a few weeks ago that we would do a Vancouver, Calgary, Banff trip for my 60th birthday in two years and just started to research it and then this drops!
I just returned from my own Banff trip so this was fun to watch to see how your experience was different. We also stayed at Fairmont Lake Louise and loved it. The lake view was spectacular! We also love the afternoon tea but was sadly disappointed in the food at Louiza. The Lakeview Lounge was okay but we loved a cocktail they had called the Lakeview which was the color of the lake, a beautiful blue. Also, in Banff we were so disappointed in the food quality at The Grizzly House. We will gladly warn others not to go for overpriced and low quality food. Fun fact though, each table has a phone so diners can call each other. The owner was a swinger so he added phones to all the tables so that the extra fun couples could call each other. It’s on the back of the menu and our waitress confirmed it. We didn’t like the food but we had fun testing out the phones to make sure they work and they really did. Instructions on the back of the menu. Haha!!!
Long form, excellent. Thanks to OC Girl and Uncle too! DC native most of my life, it'd be cool to see a long form of the DC metropolitan area, or anywhere on the East Coast.
If you go back try going through Cochrane on your way to Banff. It’s just outside Calgary and it’s got some really good famous ice cream!! Plus it’s a really cute town.
This is an excellent video on this area! So beautiful there in Canada. I had some sticker shock looking up room rates for that gorgeous Fairmont Lake Louise, I can’t imagine spending $2,000 a night on a regular queen room but wow if I win the lottery that’s where I want to stay for sure!! This area is stunning!
Love watching all your videos. One question for you. We would love to come from NZ to Canada for Christmas - out of the Fairmont Whistler, Lake Louise or Banff which one is your favourite? Thanks so much
For the hotel itself, definitely Lake Louise.. but if you're coming in the winter the Whistler one might be cool because the town of Whistler has alot more activities nearby. I guess it depends what you're in to.. I've got a review of both the Lake Louise and Banff Fairmont coming soon
I am going on a trip to Banff for two nights (staying in Canmore) and one night in Radium Hot Springs and one in Revelstoke - driving from Oregon. If you only have 3 days in the area - what would be your absolute musts to do? Thank you 😊
I'd say my must dos would be to visit Lake Louise and do one of the hikes there.. Johnston Canyon hike. And the Banff Gondola. That's my three to keep it simple 😀
@@YellowProductions I shared this video on a Canmore Banff tourist group. They love it! You do great work and I am glad you came to my part of the world. I am from Victoria BC but live in Alberta. I work as a flight attendant sometimes, I always go to your RUclips first to find the deets on places. Thanks for being awesome 😎
Are you going to make an informative video on the area like you did for Vegas, please? I am planning to visit next year and I live in a Mediterranean island, and to me being in the Rockies is like being an alien. The trip will cost a bunch so I need it to be perfect. Thank you! ❤ P.S. where those Adam the Woo references?

Canada formally switched to metric on April 1, 1975...no April Fool's joke, I swear. Typically, the only signs still using miles predate April 1, 1975, as I suspect may be the case with the Johnston Canyon sign. In 1926 the Walter Camp family bought the log teahouse and developed the bungalows around it; they got approval from the Banff Park superintendent to build a pony trail to the upper falls and that was completed by 1930. I don't know when the wooden sign with miles on it was actually created, but I suspect it was either before 1975, or that the current sign is a refurbished or replacement sign that kept the distance in miles for sentimental reasons.
