I almost DNFd Gideon the Ninth multiple times. I finally looked online, and someone said, "Don't give up until you get to the first laboratory scene." I'm glad I stuck with it because I really liked Gideon as a character, but I was hoping I would love it more.

I totally understand and had the same, I really struggled getting through it. I hope the next two books are worth it...

Hi Cathy! If you like necromancers, there is Garth Nix "Sabriel". It is a YA book, very easy to read. I loved the concept and the world building! I read it when I was in my teens, and it kinda was marked in me, if that makes any sense 😂

Added it to my TBR, it looks like something I would enjoy. Thank you for sharing 🖤

I adored Gideon, but I've heard loads of people say that the second book is incredibly different and some people go from loving to hating the series. So... It could be worth a shot?! 😂

Well I have all 3 books on my shelves, I'll get to 2 and 3 eventually I guess? 😅
