J Cole has the most wisdom out of any rapper in this generation ive heard next to Big Sean, honestly. Two big rappers with a certain spiritual knowledge is cool to see. It takes a certain perspective on things to really understand the value in his words

This is why I look up to Cole because he is the only artist/rapper I can really relate to like the part where he talks about him sharing a room with his older brother in his old house and once his mom met his step dad they moved into a bigger house in 2014 Forest Hills Drive where he had his own room, which was the case in my situation. I remember sharing a room with my older brother when he, my mom & I lived in the basement of an apartment in Chicago and once my mom met my step dad, they got married and moved us to a bigger house in the suburbs where me and my brother had our own individual rooms, my stepsisters had their room and of course my mom and step pops had their room and our address also had Drive in it. I also can relate to him saying how he would isolate himself in his room writing raps, which is what I do too, I’m also an upcoming artist btw and also the part where he talks about always passing tests in school but never really retaining the information, which really touched my soul and made me realize that I am not alone and that artists like J. Cole who I genuinely look up to not only as a rapper, but as a person as well has or had experienced the same type of struggles or circumstances and he’s now one of the biggest and most popular hip hop artists of this generation and that’s the level I’m trying to reach when it’s my time and hope to put out an album that is as good as 2014 FHD telling my story💯

Mad this interview was so short. This interview was special. J. Cole is really the goat. His status transcends his musical ability. The fact that he is living his purpose and delivering such a powerful and positive message while still being successful in an industry ran by vanity is what will always separate Cole from the rest.

    J. Cole's "Love Yourz" is a deeply introspective and heartfelt track from his album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The song's central message is about finding contentment and appreciating the life you have, rather than chasing material possessions or comparing yourself to others. Here's a breakdown of the key themes and meaning behind the song:
    1. Contentment Over Materialism: J. Cole reflects on his journey from struggling with poverty to achieving fame and wealth. Despite attaining financial success, he emphasizes that true happiness doesn't come from material possessions but from cherishing what you already have.
    > "No such thing as a life that's better than yours."
    2. Gratitude and Perspective: The song encourages listeners to practice gratitude, recognizing the value in their relationships, experiences, and struggles. Cole suggests that even in hardship, there is beauty and meaning.
    > "It's beauty in the struggle, ugliness in the success."
    3. Rejecting Comparisons: In a society driven by social media and comparisons, Cole reminds us that constantly comparing ourselves to others only leads to dissatisfaction. He advocates for self-acceptance and focusing on your own journey.
    4. Family and Love: The track highlights the importance of loved ones and the emotional richness they bring to life. For Cole, these connections are more valuable than any material wealth.
Overall, "Love Yourz" is a poignant reminder to find joy and fulfillment in the simple, often overlooked aspects of life. It’s a call to stop chasing external validation and instead find peace within oneself.
