So beautiful I have done arrangements for years but health deterioration stopped me. I wanted to try hard to continue my displays for my cottage. Thankyou so much for reminding me of the some key points. Your display is gorgeous, and the beautiful elegant mercury silver glass.❤ vase.
I have a cat who loves to eat plants so I have some experience with faux flora and some tips that may be helpful to others. If you point a low speed, hot hairdryer air stream at an artificial flower, you will be able to bend its stem, leaves and petals to a more natural drape. Adding some natural materials (dirt, pebbles, dried moss) at the base will also make it look more realistic. I have also put a little bit of yellow/orange powder (I grated a piece of chalk) at the center of blooms to look like pollen. Also, painting the underside veins and the edges of the leaves (I use watercolors) with purple/red-brown watercolor gives them a realistic depth, as does painting the petal edges a slightly darker tone than their main color. Most controversially, I will spritz my fake plants with anti-frizz hair product or hairspray. It gives them a more realistic droop and slight shine. Finally, make sure to trim and fraying edges and clean any dust.
Kkse 9504 wow... your like me! I have so much talent to share and absolutely hate being on video. I paint my flowers, cut them and have spray painted them with glitter etc. I just use whatever I have and everything always seems to turn out good. I have a cat too and it don't matter... real or faux he eats flowers. It's the weirdest thing. He doesn't like roses those... go figure.
I love watching different styles of all florist the way how to so it, same what im doing also how i make flowers arrangements from basic then slowly learn more ideas how to make it easy,,, love your design
Jennifer very gorgeous floral arrangement. You did an amazing job putting it together. My favorite flowers are the peonies. Thank you for sharing!!!💖💖💖👍
This is resplendent ! Absolutely amazing I love peonies n hydrangeas!! You look like Lady Diana Spencer !!! So much resemblance !! 🤍❤️🤍❤️🤍Lots of love from Muscat , Oman 🇴🇲
Jennifer, I purchased a vase I fell in love with at Burlington and have been looking around for flowers but want to make certain I choose the right combination. The colors and flowers you used here are great; I would also like to be able to add small touches to accent during specific holidays and seasons. I don't think the first two you used on the sides would be appropriate for the style of vase; but was wondering if there is any way I could send you a picture of the vase and get some input as to what type of flowers you think would be appropriate. I love hydrangeas and peonies.
Your video was very helpful. I love your flower choices. Please tell me what kind of wire cutters you are using. I have some arthritis in my hand and find it difficult to use my wire cutters.
I just love, love, love your decorating style! Can't wait for more videos. Can you suggest a good source or sources for good greenery & flowers that aren't terribly expensive? Thanks so much for your willingness to share your expertise with us! Blessings...
Jennifer: Love your videos! I have a question: I ALWAYS have issues with hot gluing the foam base in whatever vase I'm using? It never stays attached. As soon as I start putting the stems into the foam, the foam base loosens and comes out? Any suggestions?
OH SUSANAH I have experienced the same problem. I have realized that not all hot glue sticks are made the same. Also hot glue dries really fast and does not stick to all types of materials the same either. Even though I have had better luck with quality hot glue sticks, I use a different type of glue entirely, E6000. It never fails. If you are not familiar, E6000 is an industrial strength adhesive for use on metal, wood, fabric, glass, ceramic, and jewelry making. It gives you a permanent bond that is both paintable and waterproof. The only downside is that it requires up to 72 hours to cure to maximum strength- but I have always been able to start creating my arrangement in less than 12 hours with no problem. If you have never attempted this method- I would recommend give it a try and see for yourself what it can do for you! Take care and good luck ♥️
I am redoing floral arrangement and the vase had the older foam super glued or gorilla glued to its base. What do you recommend to remove the glue and foam so I can salvage the vase. My boss wants me to create a new arrangement for his office.
S.M Acevedo I have had that problem before! You have to be so careful not to break the vase. No easy fix I’m afraid. I just used a small screw driver and did my best to chip away at it. 😩. Good luck.
Well, I order them for my store from different vendors I find at the market. But, I have, however, found some really pretty silk flowers at Hobby Lobby - you just have to be picky. Thank you for watching.
Hi Jennifer I just ran a cross your also silk arrangement videos. I love your creativity!!! Can you please share where did you get your hydrangeas, so beautiful 💕 💕
Loved the finished arrangement! I loved that it would look at ease in a formal dining room but it wasn't static or museum like. Those side stems give it airiness n flow. Would it be possible to have a video with more tips about how to co ordinate the height, form etc of a big vase to suit different forms of dining room tables? Contrast different forms of vases on different tables n create different looks? These vases are expensive so wouldn't want to get it wrong. We should also keep in mind that a vase that can hold a big arrangement of artificial flowers will not necessarily support the weight of water n fresh flowers. We need to be very careful when making this investment. Also, in the background we got a quick glimpse of yr sideboard?, hutch?, I don't know the exact word in English n you also have another beautiful flower arrangement. Wouldn't want to over decorate. Spring is definitely here in the outskirts of Paris, such a joyous time of the year! Bonne journée
Yay so excited to see a new video 👏🏻👏🏻 Love it Jennifer! It looks gorgeous! Hope you will be doing more videos this year. I love your decorating style! Tfs! 😊
Hello Tiffany. I own a home decor store, so I purchase many of my flowers from vendors. I do however, make arrangements with flowers from Hobby Lobby as well. :)
Jennifer Decorates ohh such a pretty vase too, would it not be stable enough just to have put more foam at the sides to jam it in a bit ? You should maybe warn your viewers of these things just incase , not everyone thinks on these things, like I didn't first time, I just wasn't sure if it was the glue being the wrong kind, I now know it's any glue 😂, such a shame as the foam will always need replacing at some point . Many thanks for replying 😊
Wonderful demonstration and informative. In the midwest Peonies is pronounced, Pee-O-knees, not P-ownknees, so I was confused by your pronunciation. The flowers are beautiful and arrangement is stunning. Great job and I enjoy your channel.

Hello there! I have found if you hunt around that Hobby Lobby has some really beautiful florals! Have a wonderful day!
Just beautiful, thank you.
Jennifer: Love your videos! I have a question: I ALWAYS have issues with hot gluing the foam base in whatever vase I'm using? It never stays attached. As soon as I start putting the stems into the foam, the foam base loosens and comes out? Any suggestions?
Well, I use almost an entire glue stick! And, I place it on all four corners. Try that. Hope it works.
OH SUSANAH I have experienced the same problem. I have realized that not all hot glue sticks are made the same. Also hot glue dries really fast and does not stick to all types of materials the same either. Does the glue not remove the Mercury effect if you ever remove the foam ? Had bad experiences with this before on Mercury finish .
Yes, if I did remove the foam it would mess up the mercury glass for sure! :(
Jennifer Decorates ohh such a pretty vase too, would it not be stable enough just to have put more foam at the sides to jam it in a bit ?
