Like i said multiple times, Fairy Peony is so good as an F2P dance unit. Not only that, if you refine Fairy Peony, then she can be absolutely different than her before refining style, lol.
You do not know how much it means to see Ash get a really a great refine. I was skeptical at first from her remix, but I'm glad she is finally back on top alongside Peony, and L!Xander also got a really sweet refine to boot.
A little correction on the H!Tiki refine. Tiki gets double the bonuses on def AND res so with her refine she's able to get +35 atk/spd (+11 "normal" stats and +24 from the def/res bonuses since it's 12 total points). Really amazing with both Eiks since then the defensive buffs become +18 total thanks to Eik's weapon and she gets +36 atk/spd from the buffs alone. I was able to reach +70 atk/spd really easily with this setup and a couple of supports

This is honestly a great batch overall, but I do feel like Y!Innes is missing something to give him the extra firepower that would make his refine stand out.
I was looking forward to the refines of Innes and Knoll. Especially Knoll could have been a very unique and fun refine if they went for a summoning mechanic. Coding-wise, it should be similar to the ice terrain BF Robin does. Just that Knoll would have summoned a lance infantry in front of him as meat shield :D But jeah, lack lustred refine, which needs very high investment. Was also looking forward to your builts (plural is important, as you put so much effort into budget up to full invest builts).Thank you for that!
I'm so happy Ash got a great refine like Peony and not just another run of the mill f2p legendary/mythic refine. Her remix had me worried at first, but now I'm glad to see the Horn of Opening Cans of Whoop Ass got a nice upgrade.

I see ash’s refine and remix akin to Thor’s refine and remix being they help in the offensive way while also teleporting people. Sure there’s a couple of differences but overall they feel similar.
IS really needs more player phase dragon skills. When Nifl gets her refine she's basically doomed with options. She's a normal pool unit so people have probably been pity broken by her. Especially since her fodder is nothing special nowadays.
I'm very happy with H!Tiki finally being usable. She was pretty bad even when she was new, and it sucked that one of my dream combinations for a harmonic became real being so underwhelming (you could say I got both tricked and treated that time). And it's nice that I finally have some use for that spare L!Camilla I've had for over a year. I should have something decent for the A skill too, maybe from the divine codes.
I love the Ash refine, did not expect much. When she was new she was very bulky, but that fell of hard, so making her bulky again fits. And the cow with shooting lasers thing stays funny to me The +5 speed is really weird, but there are some heroes around 20-35 speed with auto double, double denial, which makes them speed based matchups agains Ash. But it is kinda niche
23:22 How was I supposed to know that assassin's strike was good for him? I thought the main appeal was the damage before the first attack. Because I ended up inheriting atk/SPD prime from Bernie instead. 💀
Oh no :( As a general rule of thumb, nobody really prefers to run Prime skills anymore unless they give themselves enough status effects by themself, even then usually there are better options (Eg: L!Xander, I didn't recommend it on him even though he can easily get 4 status by himself, it's still not worth imo). Assassin's Strike is also not stellar but it's one of the few options that's not more accessible and not as premium as Speedtaker on a unit like him.
Gosh i had soooo much trouble killing rhea, so thank you sooo much for the Xander builds, im gonna feed him the best fodders and crush that tempest teial :>
Xander is the L! Seliph refine of this year, this is a total 180 for the unit and imho hes a strong candidate for being like a top 5 unit right now, those effects should really give him some longevity for the years to come as I dont think piercing flat dr is going to be as common as % DR piercing became.
As someone who's been running a janky L!Xander due to accidentally pulling enough of him to make him my highest-scoring Legendary for various modes... I am thoroughly satisfied with his refine.

It was a tragedy how bad y!innes’s refine is, his piercing doesn’t matter much anymore since piercable dr is so rare now and he doesn’t pierce true dr, would’ve been neat that the face of F2P dr unit had it but I expected him to not get it tbh
Thank you for the refine breakdowns and builds! Honestly not the most impressive batch, and I really wish Y! Innes got at least something better. At least L! Xander does look pretty decent with both his refine and remix.
I'm praying I can get the 5 copies I need to finally +10 my Legendary Xander. I've been saving my resources just in case I can get plenty of merges on him. My friend, on the other hand, he already set his cow as his send out unit with a tone of investment, so I guess he's really happy.
Thanks for going over the latest weapon refine batch. I was really looking forward to what they would do with Asbel and I am so sad :c. I wasn't expecting anything crazy to begin with, but his refine definitely feels undercooked, especially compared to other weapon refines we got in this batch and in the past. At least it is useable and I've now found where to use my extra B!F!Robin. Other than that, my favorite refine is L!Xander's with his better damage output and overall combat. Whenever we get refines, I always wonder what goes through the designers heads when they make both cracked and mediocre refines.
Interesting how combat oriented refines are always seen as worse for offense mythics but you say Ash won the refine lottery this month with purely combat oriented effects. I guess that's just how busted 60% of Def as true reduction is. I'm surprised you said she doesn't want laguz friend, I would probably agree that spiked wall is better for the bulwark utility but is laguz friend not still a good option for potential 80% of Def reduction? Edit: just got to where you talk about LF at 9:25, I get you can't use sturdy beast with it but could you use pavise instead in AR still? Especially since her role is to wall, not necessarily to kill?
I’m so proud of my second favorite feh oc (only behind the squirrel girl) getting a great refine! Am very surprised ^w^ I just refined Ash and she is such a great Omnitank and has great support as well!
Slight correction on Xander's refine! He gets the +1 mov if he has 2 or /more/ allies within two spaces, not less! I agree that it kinda sucks that he doesn't get it for free like others, but I think he gets it in the cases when he needs it the most, i.e. at the beginning of a match when his allies are close!
I run Ash with Fortifications and LF4, and with the support units I use to buff her further she reaches roughly 100 flat DR when an enemy triggers their special, which is absolutely ridiculous. "Goat"ed refine.
Innes I was kinda hoping would be the second coming of a nuke Like he could’ve had an effect dependent on foes having Flat DR from any skill and be able to deal that much damage that they can reduce to sorta offset it I do like Asbel’s and do wanna make him a passive project, but yeah Windsweep does seem to be missing from it. We could get it as a seal which could make things interesting
I feel like asbel's refine was made to be used with e!lyn, since he really needs the preempt pulse and desperation she gives, unfortunately that means they're both countered by the exact same skills so I don't know what the devs were cooking

That AND forgetting what new effects her PRF C+ got didn't help either... But seeing the TLDR version(s) made me "reconsider" shall we say. I'll get it figured out though, I have no plans on skipping it or any of my usual coverage and I really appreciate how so many people still look forward to my coverage even if I failed at it recently, I appreciate the understanding so far!! :')

Asvels refine was tragic really. Had high hopes for him after his fellow 776 character Ronin had the most godlike refine a while back. Developer 1 vs. 2 moment for sure
Innes refine felt a bit underwhelming due to new premium units getting at least 25-30 true damage as nukes, and he’s already behind in stats. The Omni feud is a sleeper killer though
H!Tiki can get +51 Atk/Spd with Eik support right? +11 flat, and then (Def bonus+Res bonus)×2=40 if you have +10 Def/Res from Eik. I know stats can only get you so far, but +51 seems high enough to matter

Ash is one of those characters that grew on me with the time so I'm very glad that she didn't got the usual F2P OC treatment
They actually killed it with the refine for Ash and Xander IMO

If you have a Brave Alphonse, he also works to kill the TT Rhea, even on the highest difficulty

I was so disappointed with Y!Innes's refine. I was really hoping he'd get more firepower to help him have better matchups against true DMG reduction.
