Rarest Alexandrite Gemstone

- Alexandrite, a strongly pleochroic (trichroic) gem, will exhibit emerald green, red and orange-yellow colors depending on viewing direction in partially polarised light. However, its most distinctive property is that it also changes color in artificial (tungsten/halogen) light compared to daylight. The color change from red to green is due to strong absorption of light in a narrow yellow portion of the spectrum, while allowing large bands of more blue-green and red wavelengths to be transmitted.
Often described by gem aficionados as “emerald by day, ruby by night,” alexandrite is the very rare color-change variety of the mineral chrysoberyl. Originally discovered in Russia's Ural Mountains in the 1830s, it's now found in Sri Lanka, East Africa, and Brazil, but fine material is exceptionally rare and valuable.

The stone has a beautiful colour change, however, I think the cut is completely wrong.
yes, the middle or center side is empty,.. 🤔
I also have one like this, but I think there was also a mistake in cutting
Yes it was cut a little too shallow, so the light passes right through. I have a tsavorite with the same problem, I assume they wanted to cut the biggest stone possible from the rough, and they decided to cut one big shallow stone rather than several smaller stones:)
Woah, Garnet Amethyst and Pearl fused again!
Tout est dans l'épaisseur de la pierre dans la coupe... Ils font au mieux en évitant les grossières inclusions naturelles de la gemme.
Me needs candy❤❤delicious
lab???
THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEO
aku juga pnya
This actually looks more like Alexandrite quartz ... too see through ... not enough rich color in the window center .
Perfect. The cut is perfect for the stone.
Самый красивый камень на свете- Александрит!🔥🔥🔥❤️
All are way too big to be alexandrite….. That would be an insane fortune if they were.
There are some newer discoveries in India, Tanzania, so they're a little easier to find in the industry these days, especially if you are willing to settle for a stone with a weak color change, I recently got a .30 oval Indian Alexandrite for under $50, but it has a very weak color change. There were stones with better color change for $100-$500. Definitely natural since they had varying degrees of color change, clarity, etc. I remember 5-10yrs ago it was nearly impossible to find natural ones, and I was excited when I found eight 2mm rounds lol 😅
