This stone is now found in Sri Lanka, East Africa, and Brazil as well as still found in Russia. Alexandrite was originally discovered in the Ural Mountains of Russia in the 1830s. Named after Czar Alexander II who freed Russia’s serfs, but was killed in 1881. It was well-loved by the Russians because it has red and green which was similar to the national military colors of imperial Russia.

Alexandrite is somewhat of a chameleon gemstone that changes from green in daylight to red in lower light because of the way the mineral absorbs light which is also known as the alexandrite effect. and more colors than that..ive seem them take amythest,saphire and even bright topaz hues...so much prettier than diamond in my opinion

Hello, friend, greetings, you know, it's been more than two years, luckily, I went to an auction to acquire an alexandrite, but it is enormous in an emerald cut, it is medium blue in color and in daylight it turns red. It looks beautiful and I tried to sell it but due to lack of money I could not value it. The one who saw it was surprised because he says that it is very difficult today to find this type of stone of this enormous size.
In the raw, it looks like flourite! One of my favs and thank you for your info!!

I just inherited an Alexandra ring. Mine is not emerald green nor does it turn into a red ruby color at night. It does look like several of the ones in your video. It’s more of a purple and then turns blue. Can you clarify?

Hi AJ, I just don't have time to waste. I have stage 4 colon cancer an it has spread. I can't do chemo. If you don't know any of these questions, could you please point me in the right direction. I'm interested if it makes a difference in there healing properties of Alexandrite if they were grown in a lab or not? Also, would a cheaper larger stone work as well as a smaller cut, but better quality? I was also wondering if I could buy it in the raw or uncut. Will the light still stimulate the color and there magical qualities without it being polished?

Hi! I have an Alexandrite that was lab created. I have been told in order to create one it has to be made of the same substances that the natural stone has. I really don’t think it makes a difference because it is just as real as the one found in nature. Mine changes from green to red and is small. It was still pretty expensive at the jewelers but love it!

You must not know much about crystals and their healing properties. Yes there are alot of ancient uses with crystals and their different properties. Alot of the new age or metaphysical community make use of them for spirtual reasons such as cleansing, opening intuitive energies and protection.
