My graduation and engagement rings are alexandrite. But I also have a ring from my great grandmother that is a large alexandrite. The stone came from Israel.
@Ronnie Higuchi Rusli: If you have access to a refractometer, you can easily test whether an Alexandrite is real or not! Also, a jeweller can give, sometimes free, an appraisal of Alexandrite!
@Anthony Rodriguez: Your Alexandrite may not be the real thing! I bought an Alexandrite ring and earrings from Russia and they turned out to be synthetic Corundum! They are still beautiful!
This is not a natural alexandrite, unless u got it from a museum. A natural alexandrite of this size is EXTREMELY rare and considering that a good quality alexandrite with excellent color change goes for about $60,000 a carat, no way this is a real one. It's very very hard to find natural alexandrites, even man made ones are very expensive. If by some luck u do find a real alexandrite, buy it, as it's a great investment. They are becoming more rare every year and the price u pay today just may double by next year. It is the rarest stone in the world and much more beautiful than the most flawless diamond. Everybody has diamonds but I bet nobody u know has or has ever seen a true natural alexandrite. Its widely known that 90% of all the jewelers in the US have never even seen a natural genuine alexandrite. THAT is how rare it is. And the few collectors that have them are not parting with them at any price. I know.
As a child I wore an Alexandrite ring. The single stone ring set in gold was a beautiful gift from my daddy. ❤️
I just bought 19.3 cts rough Alexandrite in shape of 4 individual pieces. Og cost me too much to brag about.. :s but so worth it. I adore Alexandrite

Yellow to purple I have not seen but Iolite is another softer mineral that is purple/blue with a shift to yellow/clear.

Expensive Alexandrite must be proved by at least two reputable laboratories period.

AllNutritionsupplements com only person who can determine that is a gemologist.

Himalaya mountain Pakistan no india Pakistan is every stone best Emerald is Pakistan
Too bad it produces sickly pink and sad green colors that look nothing like ruby or emerald.
The mountain which you saw is lies in Nepal. Don not talk more without any evidence.
I have a beautiful lab created Alexandrite that is SO much prettier...
