This topic of "second anointing" or "second endowment" in preparation for translation / transfiguration. As the earth gets closer and closer to it's transfiguration and we get closer to the second coming it is becoming more and more important to learn and understand about this. (see D&C 88 v.138-141 for washing of feet "ordinance" and D&C 63 v.21 - earth transfiguration is a pattern that will follow the Mt. of Transfiguration, Mat 17 v.5, Mark 9 v.7, Luke 9 v.32-35).
The reason is because as the earth is preparing to "be transfigured" we need to prepare to be transfigured so that by the time Jesus comes we are clean and pure and be ready to receive him and not "be burned" with the wicked when he comes again. In other words we can be transfigured just before He comes or "no later than" the time He comes. That's why the Lord is revealing more about it now than ever.
