- BMW 440i MPPSK. I was underwhelmed by the standard 440i and 340i as they don't offer the same performance as the M140i mainly because they are heavier and the B58 engine in them is detuned (for obvious reasons). Find out if the M Performance Power and Sound Kit (MPPSK) makes any Difference!

I've been kindly informed Cooper BMW York are offering The MPPSK for the x40i engine for the Fx series cars (though not the M140i/M240i) from £1,250. Good value for the bang if you ask me as usually that's just the price for a back box MPE!

As far as I'm aware it's an ecu tune that increases the power from 320 to 360bhp. You also get the M Performance exhaust system that is cat back rather than just a back box. Sounds great and fully warranted as it's from BMW direct.
Good presentation my friend, totally agree with you, mppsk has transformed my car, such a beast in sport + manual mode. I find myself wanting to drive through the tunnels in Birmingham City centre just to hear the pops, bangs and crackles. Sounds like a frikkin race car with mppsk.

Just got the MPPSK fitted in my 340 and I cannot put in words just how amazing it is. The videos dont do the sound justice. This thing is proper loud and makes all the right sounds. Mine hasn't even broken in yet so I'm not getting all the exciting pops and bangs but it sounds phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend
340 and 440 are actually very decent with the MPPSK. As I said in the video.... They feel are underpowered compared to the M140i due to detuned engine and the weight. However with the MPPSK they feel just right!!
Wait until you get to around 8k miles...mine is crazy now loudness wise. Gunshots, the lot

i have a 2019 m140i with a decat , res delete straight pipe and then a mpe backbox …. is the mmpk sound the same as my setup or even more drama ? i’m after more sound right now but without deleting my backbox but not sure what to do as i’ve done it all already ?
Yep. Sounds waaay better than the MPE on Mx40i's. Very similar to the backbox mod and dual res-delete done on the M-Lites by PCW, or maybe even better! Gotta hear one irl now...
Hear one in person is all I can say. I do think getting a dual Res delete on a M140i would make it sound louder than this. MPPSK on a 340i or 440i is definitely a must have!

Compared to your M140i with MPE, did you noticed more vibrations and droning in the 440i like in your car?
I drove a 440i with MPPSK and in Sportmode between 1800 and 2200RPM I felt vibrations and droning in the cabin.
What was your impression compared to the MPE of your car? Does it droning more than your car?

Thanks mate, yes in terms of vibration there was a bit in comfort mode from the centre console through to the rear of the car. Mainly due to being a straight pipe. Sounded better than just a MPE back box for sure.

I didn't find it annoying in sports mode because the car was so lively. In comfort mode it was unnecessarily louder and more vibrations which I had to get used to. Put it this way I wouldn't do a Res delete on my M140i with its MPE!
There's no drone in Comfort mode, but there is in Sport when cruising... but why would you be in Sport if you're cruising?
@@andywmoffat there was definitely more drone/vibration in comfort mode under acceleration in this vs my M140i. This has the full catback MPE whereas on my M140i it's just the MPE back box
Also worth considering one of bmws performance models - M2, M3, M4, M5, M6 etc
MPSK exhaust is valved, correct? How do you go from “quiet” to “loud” mode with the exhaust? I was assuming you have to go to Eco drive mode?
Yes it's valved. Vales open in sport and sports plus
Such a shame that I can't fit this kit in my 2019 440i GC. Do you recommend just having the exhaust in itself? Or does mppsk still possible, without voiding warranty?
You could put a Remus exhaust and a remap but that would avoid warranty. Best thing would be the mppsk
@@DownShiftThrottle I would like mppsk as well. But I was told that mppsk only fit cars built before July 2018, so my car being 2019 and having PPG/ GPF installed, is not compatible with my car. So I'm just thinking of having the m perfromance exhaust instead. I just want my car to have a nice sound, the extra power won't really matter to me

@@danadriosula122 This is not true. I have a 2019 440i Grancoupe with the MPPSK. M sport engine tune, M sport exhaust ,M sport breaks, suspension and steering wheel.
For everyday use the MPE is enough.. but I do like the fact its a “BMW” part 👍🏻
You're right, the MPE back box though it's loud and at times might sound like a neighbour nuisance, it's actually not too bad. This full system is pretty good effort as a genuine 'warranty friendly' part!
Do you guys suggest doing the entire MPPSK? Does it actually make the car that much faster? Or do you guys believe the MPE is enough?
MPPSK is not only just an exhaust but also a BMW map that increases the power of a 340/440i which makes it a much nicer car to drive. 340/440i are heavier than the M140i so with this MPPSK it makes the 340/440i a much complete package

absolutely, I just wondered if the power gains were justifiable for the price. I’m stuck on whether doing the MPPSK package or just save some money and purchase the exhaust alone.
To be honest.....if your car is out of warranty you could just do a remap. Gains will be much higher.....
Every conceivable option you say? Straight away I can tell you you are missing 360 camera, adaptive cruise control, roof glass. It is also missing any driving aids like collision assist, lane assist etc. Not to mention it does not have any extended leather on the dash. You could go on, so please don't say it has every option when it is far from fully loaded. Otherwise riding with the MPPSK is sure like sitting in the candy store.. ;)

It's missing a STACK of stuff.... but it is a pre LCI car too.
Is it not too loud when driving constant 120 km per hour in sport mode with the MPPSK?

That is from BMW dealership themselves. Approved BMW.

Can you still have the MPPSK fitted to cars with the PPF fitted from earlier this year?
I doubt it. You could probably get the power kit but not the full exhaust. BMW don't even offer the MPE back box on the PPF M140i anymore let alone a straight pipe. I would imagine it's the same on the mid 2018 340/440i
Nope.... MPPSK delivery has not been stopped due to EU regulation :(
That's interesting..... Perhaps they're only offering the MPE back box as the PPF filter is from catback mid pipe? No?
Coupe drives so much better than a GC... also bolt the JB4 onto the MPPSK for so much more performance and pops and bangs.
B58 engines full potential is definitely pegged. Remaps coming soon to my M140i

great vid. i hear the 140 and 240 already have the power kit and that is why it's not an option.
I think it's pure marketing from BMW. M140i certainly has the power element but you need to add the MPE but only available as a back box.... On mine. Not available as a cat back. Hence the remus/Miltek route.

It's a BMW supply and fit at around £2k

No idea, it was part of the package price. The exhaust fitting I would image shouldn't cost more than £200 at most

Lol M140i not far off already 😂. I enquired about a MPE straight pipe from my local dealer. It's not available on a M140i.... Which is a great shame if you already have a MPE back box!
M140i is faster than the normal m2 rolling I’ve seen a lot of videos

Got the performance muffler installed with a straight pipe and sounds wicked, i will do a video tomorrow.

With the MPPSK and with non run flat tyres it is yes.
