Just what the doctor ordered .... INTERPOLATE. I had set up a mission to confirm my suspicions tomorrow. But now you've done the legwork. Appreciated. Thanks
I never have done a mission on Litchi. I didn't understand how we do it and looked complicated to me. Now with this video I have learned how to do it. It seams very easy to do it. Even I use Metric and here is Imperial. Thank you for this tutorial.
Superb, just what the doctor ordered, the whole process is a lot clearer, Thanks from NZ, it's been about 12 years since I was in good old UK and even longer since I've been in Whitley Bay. I'll be sure to take a look though the rest of your stuff.
Great video, thanks so much for making it. I've just got myself a VR-One Headset yesterday and have been looking at a few videos on the Litchi app. This is by far the best, thanks. :)
Cracking tutorial and video to boot, a great source of info for us newbies, I live not far north from where you shot that scene, we live on a beautiful picturesque stretch of Northumberland coastline and you showcased it well. keep up the good work.
Thank You! for taking the time do share info in such a clear manner, greatly appreciated. Looking forward to trying out, I suspect less editing/cutting will be required in post.
Cheers for a great tutorial Jason. So much better than Litchi's own way too brief, music sodden offering. Now I'll go see if I can replicate some of the details you've shown me... if it ever stops blowing a gale!
Hi, Great review of what could be a complex bit of software made easy. You have a new subscriber. I'm new to Litchi so I'll have to download the Mission hub for my Mac and get started. Thanks once again..
I just watched the video. Great job. However, I thought there were controls to have it pause at specified points of interest if you wanted. I don't see that control in the mission hub.
Very helpful. I'm fairly experienced with DJI GO but just started using Litchi so I can do more 1-person operation, automate flights and focus on framing, and possibly automate everything to get footage I need in one flight which is helpful when time to charge batteries and remoteness from power are considerations. To that end, few questions for you: 1.) how will focus POI frame the point of interest? Will it be middle of x/y as it looks in sample video of Waypoints course you set or at one of the the thirds or something else via gimbal pitch and heading direction? 2.) is a Waypoints mission able to be completed autonomously by the UAV, including programmed camera movements, if RC signal is lost? 3.) is there a way to adjust expo settings on app as we have for DJI GO such that we can achieve smoother pans and tilts? I'll likely do some test flights to sort these questions out next week, but I thought I'd ask here in case others have same questions. Thanks much.
I watched your video and did my first mission to circle my house. I live on an acre and there are no changes in ground altitude. I used my house as the POI and Litchi set it for 3 feet. I'm not sure why it does that but my house is at least 15 at its highest. I set the gimbal for focus POI. For some reason, the gimbal would not point down to capture my house. Can you please explain the POI height relation to the height of the mission altitude I had to set my house poi 272 to get a gimbal setting of -72 with the mavic flying at 98". Just a bit confused here. I can send you the file if you want
Great Video and very easy and helpful. I have tried it for the last few days and was able to plan several mission on my desktop with no problem thanks to your instructions and youtube video. The last couple of days I am not able to plan any mission on any desktop because when I start to create a mission the waypoint window does not pop up and when I try to left click any waypoint setting the little icon is floating all over the map.. The only way to make it stop is by clicking on the eraser icon. I have no problem creating a mission on my I pad, it works the way it should. Any help would be appreciated. Theo
Hello Jason, I notice that your Drone tuck off very quickly after you activated the mission. Now when I activate my missions it takes a couple of minutes before my drone takes off even short missions. I was wondering on the mobile device you use do you have the wifi on or do you have it in flight mode or completely turnd off.
Hello Jason. This is somewhat off topic but I was hoping you may have some ideas on how to resolve this issue. I downloaded Litchi to my Samsung S5 the other day. The various parameter settings all save such as negative elevation to -656, map radius to 32,805 etc. etc. This will be fine and work ok for the field; however, I also want to use my Samsung Galaxy Tab S which I also downloaded the application two after downloading to my S5 (along with it's purchase through Google Play). Frustratingly, I cannot save any of these settings so I can't use the 10.5 inch screens to assist in mission planning with say... for example, setting my altitude at a particular way point below 16 feet or expanding the map radius beyond 1640 feet as an outer radius limiter? It could possibly be a setting on the Tablet; however, I cannot for the life of me figure out why I cannot get the settings to save.
Hi, nice video. i em little confused about all these altitude corrections. So if you set POI drone doesn´t know where it is and what altitude is there? Example - I set up 1st waypoint 1 at 10ft, second WP will have same 10ft, but this waypoint is at location 10ft higher then place at WP1. So dron will hit athe ground or will calculate hight from GPS coordinates? If not and drone do not calculate current altitude I have to calculate every change in terrain altitude . thanks;-)
Hey Jason, I'm on a macbook pro, using Firefox and I can't seem to get the Waypoint settings dropdown menu to come up (you know where I dictate altitude, speed, etc.) Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for this. After viewing it, I went ahead and bought the app, not used it yet but will try some simple missions over the next few days before going on to bigger things. One quick question though, do you have any idea how I can get to view this mission? I've looked on the mission hub, even searched with your name and the route name but nothing shows up in the area, nothing at all. nearest I see is a couple at gateshead and one at Angel of the North.
I searched for a tutorial on how to eat lychees, now I can make sick drone shots of south shields. However my drone did not withstand the winds. Isn't Temu reliable?
I noticed you were doing this on an actual computer but cant find a MAC / PC version for this planning stage? Any dieas where to find a MAC version as the IPAD version doesnt have the mission button?
Great work and explained very well. I think it's the best one I could find on YT on how to use and explore others flights. I presume this would work on the P3 Advanced?
+Jason Bigjay Leake that's good news as that's the same Phantom as mine. I'm going to explore others waypoint maps in my area (SW Ireland) and go flying. I bought the app recently but never used it until I was 100%. You explained that extremely well...thanks 👍
Nice job. Maybe next time you can explain on the world map what the Blue numbers, red Numbers etc mean. Thanks. What a beautiful location. I'm in Orlando FL USA
Very nice video, well explained how Litchi app works for DJI Drones. Quick question, when you fly Waypoints mission with Litchi app, does the telemetry data / flight data show on the live video feed from the drone? If yes then is there a way to get rid of it? Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work!
Hi Jason thanks for your superb tutorial. Bit of help if you don't mind. I have a phantom 3 and I have recently purchased the Litchi app. My intention is to do a course flyover of Backworth Golf Course for our website. I want the drone to fly fast up the fairway and cruise around the greens. In mission hub I've set the speed at the top end of the scale for the fairways dropping down to cruising for the greens. However I can't get the drone to fly at that top end speed. I know it can fly faster because when I tap return to home it comes back at the speed I want it to fly during the mission. Any help much appreciated and a pint . Milty
Milty Lap sorry mate for the late reply . You can set in the online hub the speed you want to cruise at , but don't set the cruise speed on the waypoint markers, also while flying the mission you can press forward and gain speed , when you let go the speed goes back to set cruise speed , if you need a demo I will gladly show you ..
Thanks for your reply Jason. I think I have sorted that one. I eventually found out how to set the mission speed in the mission hub and it seems to working fine now. Milty

Hands down to litchi app, it's far the best autonomous app for phantom. Litchi will send the mission to the phantom & in the event that you lose connection to the drone, the pre-uploaded mission or coordinates will guide through & complete the mission, that is just amazing. Can't wait to use this app with the newly released DJI Mavic Pro. Does any one know Litchi's update for Mavic Pro?
Thank you. Great video. But there is one important question. What you need to do to loss of signal, the camera continued to the slopes and lifts to the points of interest? My drone after signal loss keeps the camera on the last signal, and more camera does not move. Thank you
Сергей Аверьянов yes sorry to say that when drone loses signal there will not be any camera movement as the signal from the remote and device is needed to use poi the only thing uploaded to drone on starting mission are the waypoints and heights

I can put my own GPS coordinates of each waypoint?

I try to understand the blue with number you have the camera looking down . those are the wave point.
+Anthony Johnson the blue icon's are the poi points you want the camera to point at ,and the numbers are poi order and the height of the poi

Can I send you an email pls with some questions ?
Theo Meijer no problem
How did you make it a waypoint or a POI? Everytime I click on the screen I get waypoints only.
I didnt understand why to set the high to POI? what means that number you use to set it?
it is so the drone can move the camera to the right angle to capture the poi

Yes you can create online , wait till it uploads on iPad then delete online . Will always stay on iPad
What other option do I have ....if I am not on Facebook...??
Thanks dude, informative, learned some. Playing with Litchi on the P4. Some footage on my channel. I'm local too.

Excellent, thanks! How about the starting point and "Home"? Did you do manually or automatically? Very beginner here, cheers!
Fantastic tutorial - excellent work.
Question: it seems there's no "return to start point" setting? So you just have to add a waypoint close to the start (as you did)?
hi my friend ,since i did this tutorial there have been some changes in the app and mission hub, you can now in mision hub click on settings and you have a finish action settings which you can choose rth, land, back to 1 and reverse and you can also set this in the app
@@JasonBigjayLeake got it - thanks!!
so this is being done on the PC then ported to the mobile app? If so then is there a PC application or website app for waypoint programming?
oh wait, you've covered that at the end! excellent!
Hi, how do you get the mission onto your ipad app? Cheers
You must first create a mission on iPad and save then a folder will have been created so now all hub missions will upload
Hi is this mission still available to try on litchi i really would like to try it
yes my friend

do you make this mission on your computer then load it to your device?
yes always on computer
Would appreciate more explaination.
explanation about what?
What DJI Drone are you using because I do not get the same options as you.
Phantom 3 advance
And using iOS
This was created on litchi hub on PC
Cool Thanks for the quick answer.
Will work also in the same way with the P3 standard version ?
