    UPDATE 11-22-21: we returned our Halo Collar. It was outside of the 30 day window so they only gave us a $350 credit. My case was that their training program takes at least 21 days. So that leaves only 9 days to test the collar yourself. That’s not enough for a complex tool like this. Plus there were several software resets that caused problems. I agree that this is a great idea but this product is way too young to be out in the public.

      thanks for the video, I was considering specifically to use at a cabin in northern Minnesota, gobs of trees so I think I will have to hold off for another year. Your description of the challenges of dogs at the cabin is spot on.

      @@maryzecchin4564 thanks for the kind words! Yes in the end we decided that Halo was not a good fit for us. It definitely did not work on our lake lot and even "in town" where we have less trees, a stronger cell signal, on a one acre lot, it was spotty. We decided to get a "Mini Educator" and it works a lot better for our needs. I think the Halo is a great idea, it just needs more development.

    Thank you everyone who has commented. I was seriously considering purchasing this product. Their website says if you are not completely satisfied return it.....so the fact you all have have had so much trouble returning them, tells me not to trust them at all. Also, the fact that they say rough handling is anytime it's on the dog and not covered by their warranty, just blows my mind! How do they think it will be handled when on an off leash dog? I've owned a Dogtra e-collar for about 10 years now and I've had no trouble with it whatsoever.

    I love mine and have had no issue. He’s been very very receptive and adapted to collar well!! The customer service has assured me normal wear from the dog use does NOT void the return.

    So glad I found this vid! We’ve been using the halo and I’m days away from my return period being up and just having such a hard time coming to terms that maybe it’s the collar and not me being stupid about using it! I thought this whole time I’ve been doing something wrong with the beacon going off and giving feedback when my dog isn’t even close to it!

      @cassie thanks ! You’re not alone. I get the same way. I agree, the beacon was a total waste of time. I think training and learning to use it are important, but the beacon time would’ve been better spent with just working with the boundary feature. I’m glad my video helped you !

    It was only after buying it, that I watched the company's vid's on actual modes it puts itself into. They call it the "in house GPS mode", which in reality means "we don't want to tell you that you can't use any GPS device when there's any type of overhang" mode. By totally dumb luck, we have a horse farm - nothing but open space, and it works great.

      I’m glad it’s working for you. We decided it’s not a good fit for us. We have two locations and they are about an acre each. Ours was too inaccurate and inconsistent.

    For anyone else considering, we bought the collars and they were so complicated did not put them on for a few months. When we finally did put them on the dogs, the return period was over. The collars were only on the dogs for two weeks and both had pieces snap off so that they are not useable. The company says the warranty will not cover "rough handling" which is anything that happens while on the dog. We now have two useless collars. These are very poorly made.

      You may have already tried this but - we got a partial refund after the warranty period. My perspective was that if we went through all of the “training” (which they highly recommend) that takes about 21 days. It leaves you only 9 days to test it. But I had to stay after them and follow up for several weeks in a row and post questions to the Facebook page. They finally agreed to refund me $350.

    After months of working with costumer service because the 3 collars I have were no longer connecting or staying connected, they finally offered to exchange them. I sent the 3 collars in and only received 1 collar back. It came in 1 week, which impressed me and I thought the other 2 would follow soon there after. However it has now been a month and no collars. Their last email states they received no collars back, and that they wanted proof I sent them back. However they sent me 1 of the 3 back so, please tell me how you did not receive the other 2 in the same box! This company is out for the money not your precious dog! I have also written 2 review on their web page and they are not listed! That says a lot about a company if they will only show happy reviews and not the review of the people who are having difficulty and they don't stand behind their product!

    We purchased two dog collars and neither of them worked nor did the two beacons work. We live in an area with strong GPS signal, and the product worked when we slowly tested it. The issue is the collar fails to keep up with the signal and shocks the dog when they're back in the yard because 15 seconds ago they were outside the perimeter. This was very confusing for our dogs and hard to watch. The beacons had the same issue, I would go up to the beacon with the collar and wouldn't receive a warning for a few seconds. We had the same issue with both collars and both beacons, so it appears the technology is just not reliable yet. Halo charged a restocking fee for us returning this even though we went through all the troubleshooting steps they recommended multiple times. The rep on the phone even told me that he uses this on his dog, but when the dog breaks the parameter he just whistles him in and doesn't rely on the collar to warn or prevent the dog. This product is not viable as advertised and the fact that the company won't refund you in full when returning it makes this company a borderline scam. Working with my credit card company to dispute the charges, it sounds like that will solve it. If this happens to you make sure to file a chargeback.

    Hi Mr Martin what breed of dog is that dog my wife really like it . I thought it is Moyen poodle but she disagreed please let us know.. cheers

      Thanks!! We’ve been told it’s a “double doodle.” So we think it is half labra doodle and half golden doodle ? I’m not a dog expert. Sorry I don’t have more info !

    I am looking up all reviews on this dog collar .. After having it for a few months how is it working ? Do you like how it works ?

      No, it’s not. We returned it. We decided it was not a good fit for our family since we found the location feature to be too inaccurate. Our lot is about an acre in size and for whatever reason it couldn’t accurately locate the dog. So he was getting feedback when he should not have and vice Versa. After several weeks of me persistently contacting customer support they finally agreed to refund half my money.

      Hey Gus, thanks for commenting. I shot this video in the summer of 2021, so I’m pretty sure it was a Halo 1. I’ve since returned it so I can’t look on the collar itself.

      I had to email frequently for like two weeks. I also commented in the Facebook group and stated that was not contacted by customer service. That seemed to do it. Someone from Halo on Facebook reached out to me and I finally got some help.

      They may have improved it in the last year but we found that trees and metal roofs really affected our signal.

    DO NOT BUY THE HALO COLLAR. IT IS WILDLY INACCURATE AND HAS SHOCKED MY DOG WHEN HE WAS WELL WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES (by more than 100 feet!!)

      @RUclipsAlgorithm Dismantler I agree. I could never figure out why I have other, cheaper electronics that are more accurate. Seems like a software problem. I genuinely hope it’s something that Halo fixes because I think it’s a great idea.

      I don’t purport to be intelligent but I did use the collar according to the instructions. The whole purpose was to guard our dog from getting away from us on the water.
