Yes, brother it's actually quite an interesting little cooker! I have slow cooked, sautéed and next up is a searing test and then Sous Vide! Once I get those done I am putting the video together. So far I am very happy with it doing what it says it can do. Thank you for watching, brother!
I recently made this for my family and they were extremely delighted with it. Thank you so much for being an everyman chef for all of us. Don’t ever change who you are.
Go for it! We messed with the recipe over the years and ended up adding more and more spices (not salt), and finally it rocks! The amounts seem like a lot to some people, but trust me it is flavorful and robust! No boring lack of flavor in this recipe.
I like this because it doesn't require 45 minutes of stovetop work before the slow cooker can take over, and it looks like it has a nice variety of flavors. I am looking forward to trying it!
We do something similar, but we go super lazy on the seasoning. We toss in some thick sliced onion, maybe some green bell peppers, and then we just dump in a taco packet and pour medium salsa over everything. The salsa gives us liquid in place of the broth you used. Looking forward to trying out this alternate method
Thank you, brother! This mini slow cooker series was done in the simplest way possible due to time constraints, but I wanted them to present and flow well! So far, so good!
OMG YOU GOT THE NINJA SLOW COOKER I saw this a while ago and I was like, I need it!!! I have the Ninja Grill XL and the Ninja Foodi and they are pretty much the only appliances that I use now, because they are perfect and high quality, and can do pretty much everything I need. Going to share my little secret with you that I just came up with this year. I love making my own salsas and sauces with the Ninja Grill. If you don't have it yet, I think you would LOVE it. Roast some jalapenos, anchos, hatch, serrano, etc in there (or just bells / poblano if you want super mild) with some cloves of garlic and thick cut onion pieces in neutral oil drizzled on top of a piece of foil (not wrapped, open, on the Roast setting). After it's nice and charred (Yeah it does that!!) you blend it up in a food processor and make yourself the BEST green chicken chili EVER. I pressure cook the marinaded chicken (thighs or breasts) in the Foodi for 10-14 mins with some of the fresh roasted sauce and a bit of broth, remove. To expand even more, I use this roasted green sauce as a semi-replacement for liquid with chicken broth when making spanish rice. I can't do tomatoes so it's all green. You toast the rice (vermicelli for spanish rice) in a bit of neutral oil until browning, then add caramelized onions (I keep pre-caramelized onions in my fridge...for reasons), sliced bell peppers, and the chicken and liquid til it cooks for about 10 mins for one box. The Spanish Rice-A-Roni works because they stopped adding tomatoes to it and tell you to use your own can of tomatoes, but I add the green sauce instead! Top with cheese. My husband ate all of it in one day and didn't save me any... so I know to stash some next time!! (:
I was a street taco blend I got from the grocery store, but it's all gone now lol. I[ve tried a few, but this one was good. If I get it again, I will let you know the brand! Thank you for watching!
Thanks Mike! - This looks quite easy and full of flavor. - Looking forward to the "modern" slow-cooker review - mine was 30 yrs old before it died... lol - Cheers!
lol yea we had one that was very old too. It finally quit, and now we’ve been through 4 that only last a couple months. I decided to buy a better one this time. I’m happy so far!
Looks delicious Mike! I'm looking forward to the review on that new Ninja you got!

I could also see doing a 16-20 Oz jar of your favorite salsa instead of the chicken broth. Great idea Mike.

Good morning...Looks great Big Mike, What kind was that green salsa?
I was a street taco blend I got from the grocery store, but it's all gone now lol. I[ve tried a few, but this one was good. If I get it again, I will let you know the brand! Thank you for watching!
I'm going to make this tomorrow. What are the toppings you used in your tacos, specifically the green sauce? Avocado lime? Thanks!
I like to top with Salsa Verde (which I homemade and blend with Avacado), cilantro, cheese and anything else you like. 👍🏼

I am making this tomorrow Is slow cooker heat set to Low or High?
Low is fine. It cooks pretty quick. Lower temps allow the food to hold more flavor.
What temperature do you put it on. Is it possible to cook over night
Slow cookers all seem to cook at different “low” or “high” temps. You can do this on low overnight if you want, but it only takes a few hours.
