Great video, I've always seen them but never knew what they were for, but they're pretty neat!

Glad you were able to learn something! So true, they are all over the place and most people walk right by without even noticing. The problem is that keys/swivels can easily go missing. Thanks for watching! -ANDY

Thanks! Yeah, it is interesting how popular they are, however, they don’t really exist in the DIY market, only through the pros/trade. Happy to help if you ever have e questions.

Nice. These are durable for sure - you’ll have an MLB quality hose connection.

Can I use this to push water into the system? Previous owners of the house had a sprinkler system. I found a sprinkler head. The rest must be buried. I want to connect water to the one exposed sprinkler head and see if other sprinkler heads pop up or pool water so I can find them.

Yes, water can flow both ways. Is the water disconnected? Curious if there is any reason not to turn the sprinklers on with the control box, or directly from the valve.
If you don't already have one of these installed on the system, I don't think it will be necessary or helpful.
You can easily remove one of the sprinklers and connect a hose, you will just need to adapt the threads over to Hose Threads. Keep in mind that depending on the size of the zone, a garden hose may not be sufficient to run / pop up all the sprinklers.
Another option is to use compressed air.
The best option is to open the valve using the controller, or using your hand directly on the valve.

@@Andy_Humphrey I had the same question. In my rental property neighborhood in FL, the irrigation runs on city-provided reclaimed water, and I never know when they will turn on the pressure. It makes it very difficult to troubleshoot the system. So I previously tried adding a manual switch-over valve in the valve box to allow me to switch the water source from the city reclaimed water to the hose spigot, but that was a big fail. Not nearly enough pressure from the hose to run a sprinkler zone. In theory, a hose spigot should have ~50 - 60psi of pressure, which I thought would be enough. It's possible that there was pressure loss at the valve I installed. Maybe I'll try one of these.

Bought my swivel and it has garden hose threading on the female end so could not go onto key, where there is pipe thread on the top. Beware of that.

OK I have a stupid question but you would have to be running all of the other sprinkler heads for the water to be on? Or just the ones on this valve?

Great question, I can see how you might think this. The Quick Coupler is installed on the Mainline of the irrigation system, where the water is always under constant pressure. This allows you to use the device without turning on any sprinklers. Essentially, this allows you to tap the supply line and connect a hose.
      Does that help clarify?
