Loved the video and keep them coming please.
Dear David...that is a small one. Also, the next time you catch one, stick it in a tub full of clean water for two or three days and let it clean out. Trust me, it will taste a hell of a lot better if you do. Same with soft shells.
I was wondering when you were going to catch and cook a snapper. I’m kinda like your brother it’s been 40+ yrs since I’ve eaten any. Never did try it boiled though. We always cleaned them and cut the meat up into bite size pieces and battered and fried them just like you do your catfish. Enjoyed watching as always 👍
I don't think there is many foods David don't like lol
As a kid my Dad and uncle would catch and save the meat till fall and have a big turtle fry! Never boiled it now I’ll have to try. Thank you for sharing!
They evolved from getting stepped on by dinosaurs lol
Hi there... great little video! I'm 68 and growing up we caught and cleaned about all the type of turtles here in North West Florida, softshell, snapper, alligator snapping, what we called streaked head turtles and gopher tortoise. All were delicious! I enjoyed the gopher best....had a vine with a special hook made and run it down the hole and pull them out. Protected now but was fun back then to pull and eat! Sure miss having gopher and dumplings!
Keep up the good work teaching those grandkids how to enjoy life!
Nice video. I enjoy turtle fried and soup
Their good eating
Taste like River Water ha ha that was funny
Their good eating
I agree with her👍
If you turn them on there back they will be docile and easier to handle
Got excited to see that you posted! Hope all is well god bless
Last time I ate a turtle I caught while catfishing and that was Lake Champlain in Upstate New York Adirondacks. And yes we ate that one and it was delicious
Idk about a snapping turtle? but soft shell turtle is excellent eating
So much work. Iv'e cleaned frogs and catfish but snappers are on another level of work. Nice job. Man I would love to come to your place and get a lesson in catch and cook.
Turtles don't take long to clean its easy
As kids we caught at least one of these a year down on Chouteau Creek. Maybe an old wise tale but someone had said if they clamped on to you, they wouldn’t let go until lightning strikes. And we believed it! 😂
Same here. We were told that they wouldn't let go until it thundered. and we believed it too! Thanks for watching.
Prime eating. But it is kind of like Gar, you have to decide if it is worth the trouble. :)
my dad puts a stick in the mouth then hatchets off the head
Turtles are good eating. Fun fact they have seven different kinds of meat in their bodies
Fun fact they only have 1 kind of meat turtle
If you find one on the side of the road it’s usually a female with eggs
True. No eggs in her. Thanks for watching.
In Ohio they have to be at least 15" across the carapace. That's a small one. I have a lake that i take 5 a yr out of. Most average 18-20" I've caught one that is at least 27" across and it gets let go every time. That is a breeding female that keeps the lake full of those mostly evil little fish eaters.
That's false.11 inches is size limit in Ohio not 15.
@@Digglerdirk79-l4y when did they change it?
@@jamestboehm6450been 11 inches since I was a teenager im 45 now

Check again I am able to get sound.
You gotta close the video out 3 or 4 times and on the last connect the volume comes on
Anyone who boils any game meat for hours shouldn't be allowed near it. If you're that scared of it ,dont eat it.
Not scared of it. I wanted it tender and that's all. Thanks for watching.
Dear Dave...you left the backstraps in the shell? Best part?
