😊🙏 Congratulations Marathon Lady , you've completed a full International Marathon of 42.195km! Brought back many memories when my last full Singapore marathon run was in 1993 which took me 4 hours + to finished! A spiritual self-discovery experiences these marathon races gave me from the 1985 KL International Marathon , the Perak Highway Marathon in 1986 & Penang Cathay Pacific International Marathon in 1987 ... Glad had those marathon running experiences while still abled & young back then! Now doing brisk walking in my early 60s ... Marathon running also getting so crowded & expensive in around the world nowadays! Thank You So Much for sharing your Singapore Standard Chartered Marathon 2024 experience with us! Eat healthy , train wisely for health & spiritual growth & not for setting Personal Best Times , stay safe , stay healthy , stay vigilant & stay humble! 😊🙏🌷🌿🍎🍊🌏✌💜🕊🇸🇬🇲🇾
Thank you! For hydration, I made sure I drank at least a cup of isotonic or water at every hydration point along the route. Poured water over myself whenever there was water to keep my body cool. I took my own salt tablets/salt drink every few kilometres. Salt is super important to keep cramping at bay. I also planned to eat a gel every 6km. Mixed and matched gels to vary the taste/flavour so that the taste buds won’t rebel.
pretty dangerous decision by the race director to change the last 10km to west coast highway. please bring back the previous route and finishing point - national stadium. for those finishing >5hrs, must have been brutal and running the risk of heat injury. may just be my perspective but there seemed to be more ambulance activations passing by me than previous races
Thanks for commenting. Yeah I also noticed the ambulances along the way, agree on West Coast Highway being hot; I also preferred last year’s route too.
You have really got to stop talking and pointing your finger. I can't believe you're so rude that you think it's ok to talk like that, unlike your friend Justina who is so much friendlier & approachable on screen. On another note for future reference don't apply for pen B if you have no intentions of running. I saw you just stood on the start line after pen B took off & u want to wait for your friends in pen c. BE CONSIDERATE !!!!! There are plenty of areas to wait after the start you don't need to be a pain in the ass.
Hi @pauly6467. Thanks for highlighting. Have spoken to Pris about it. She tried to enter Pen C but Security did not allow her to do so. I always thought that you are allowed to enter a later pen but not at pens ahead of yours? I dun understand why. Other races typically allow you to enter later pens. If you have any suggestions for improvement, please state and elaborate. Thank you!

I questioned my life choices, too! Haha! Congratulations!
Hahahaha! Yeah i question my choices and sanity but then I sign in for another marathon. I’m crazy right? Thank you!
Congratulations...my part was flag off at 5am, quite late indeed, easily caught under the hot sun...
Thank you! 5am flag off is brutal; more exposure under the sun. Massive congrats to you too for finishing and braving the harsh elements.
Congratulations 🍾
Thank you!❤
the split point was pretty early in the race so the half marathon was not almost over yet.. congrats for completing full marathon with good time.
Thank you!❤ opps what km was the split point at? Think my mind didn’t really register the km, I was too focused on my own race.
@ sorry I think it s 13km at fort road.. somehow I remembered it earlier like 11km
impressive result 4:27hr ; 6:20min/km pace
Thank you!❤ Gun time 4:27; nett time 4:14!

Congrats!❤
Thank you!
The last 10 km under Sun 🌞 really 😫 🤮
Yes 💯 agree. The sun was so brutal.
The number of dudes peeing along the fence after the starting line is staggering!
Hahaha
