  • Inductive vs Capacitive Proximity Sensors - Target Materials
    Indective Proximity Sensor
A inductive proximity sensor can detect metal targets approaching the sensor, without physical contact with the target. Inductive Proximity Sensors are roughly classified into the following three types according to the operating principle: the high-frequency oscillation type using electromagnetic induction, the magnetic type using a magnet, and the capacitance type using the change in capacitance.
    Capacitive Proximity Sensor
Capacitive proximity sensors can detect both metallic and non-metallic targets in powder, granulate, liquid, and solid form. This, along with their ability to sense through nonferrous materials, makes them ideal for sight glass monitoring, tank liquid level detection, and hopper powder level recognition. ::::::::::: SUPPORT CHANNEL ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

because his testing methods are faulty and he is holding non-capacitive objects with his very capacitive fingers. Thus detecting capacitance of his hand through conduction of the material.
