My grandson took me from Essex to see the fantastic Edinburgh tattoo at the age of 88 what a fantastic show of our military show had a great time time thanks Edinburgh you made a old man proud
Excellent video of the March out of the Massed Pipes and Drums. I hope to someday be there to see the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in person. I do so love the sound of the Pipes and Drums and I haven't a drop of Scottish blood.
Thanks so much for this!! My dad marched and played in a drum and bugle core near Chicago. nothing like this, but oh how he’d love it,as I do still ! He was of Scottish decent.
Spectacular! What an extravaganza! Ending with such an outstanding Finale with the truly amazing Pipes & Drums. Excellent filming & footage as well! Thank you for sharing! Blessings to you!
This was my memory off my childhood and the pipes and the drums were at the gala Day at the rose well one and all the pipes are the best Richard McGeechan ❤
When I took my family to the Tattoo a couple of years ago, when the pipers and drummers came in at the beginning, my younger brother, said this will do me, all night, the pipes and drums. There was a massive shower of rain about 15 minutes from the end, and the lone drummer on the esplanade was soaked. My brother shouted, well done, young man, go home now and get dry. God bless you all.❤❤❤❤
What a great performance and I love the drums are the best way to get the tattoo and the pipes going around the town and then the best way to hear that from you Richard McGeechan ❤
We used to get highlights of the Edinburgh show here in New Zealand decades ago. I loved watching it on tv. Now, we get so much rubbish. Our television channels don't know decent shows like the Edinburgh show to complete rubbish (married at first sight, celeb treasure island etc) With the royal show, it is entertaining, colourful and they ALL play decent music, tunes.
A pause and quiet thought for the Piper Bill Millin, of The Special Service Brigades commanded by Lord Lovat who accompanied his Commanding Officer onto Sword Beach, Normandy on 6th June, 1944. Piper Millin survived the war and lived a long life dying at the age of 88.
Can I ask how much you paid for your tickets in this section? I'm thinking of going again but paying a premium ticket with it being the 75th birthday next year ❤
I don't remember precisely --- I think it was more than 200GBP, but it included a dinner and whisky tasting beforehand and was on a weekend. So, not cheap, but worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I'm American & could listen to this for hours on end. I absolutely love the bagpipes 💜
Scotland for ever.
Goosebumps ontop of Goosebumps
Love from 🇨🇦 Canada
Thank you Scotland for Pipes and Drums. Every time I see and hear, it makes me very emotional. Greetings from the Netherlands
No better sight nor sound, I just love it!

please do it is amazing. I lived in Edinburgh till I was 11 and never saw it until 30 years later.
Went there recently, would definetly reccommend seeing it, there's a real buzz around the city
Absolutely fabulous 💕 !!
It brings tears to my eyes every time.
I so agree, i just love it.
Me too.
Every time, same.
Goosebumps I get emotional when I hear the pipes. Love you Scotland l❤❤
Scotland Forever!
Good luck on that...
Lots of practice and concentration on each step of the show. I'm impressed how six lines merge into three to exit the field.
Oh my gosh. To someday see this live. Hope to do so someday. Thank you Scotland!
Love the sound of the pipes

Fantastic! Perfect precision.
25 years ago I had a piper play to mourn my wife's passing....to this day, when I think about..... it still lifts my soul.

Went in 1971. Nearly froze to death, even so, no regrets, glad I saw this.
Something about when they about turn and their capes swirl. Like a pennant unfurling as a galleon changes course. Magnificent and moving.
We were there that night. Excellent!
I am so jealous!! Wish I was there.
Amazing! Greetings from Germany! 🥳
So jealous I could not be there to hear Scotland the Brave and the Black Bear, my favourite tune! I just love it!

Make it top of your bucket list. You won't regret it.
Man, I would so love to be there!
Scotland Forever. 🏴 let’s get Independence now! 🏴🇪🇺
After this comes a firework (not every day) and the march out where all performers march down to the city.
Easy to see where the US got High School, College and semi-professional marching bands from! Thank you Pipe and Drums.
Together you are strong
Every time I have tears in my eyes, Scotland forever.
Fading memories of a proud Scotland. C'est la vie.
Maybe it’s just your memory that’s fading
@@du3223 Or maybe you've got your head in the sand...
Wunderbar, ich war 2022 da, mein schönstes Erlebnis😂😂😂
The words "Scotts Porridge Oats" always comes to mind 😊
Plus Highland Toffee and of course The Broons..etc
I visited Scotland in Sept 2023 and witnesses them dismantling the bleachers. Thanks for a glimpse of what went on
What’s the bleachers?
@@elsbethsutherland624 the temporary seating assembled outside the castle.
Thankyou. I wonder why those seats are called “bleachers”? Strange!
Wonderful.
Beautiful. So exciting ❤❤❤
Awesome.
As good as this video is, it no where near compares to being there and listening to it live.
Sound of victory
Black Bear. Highland Laddie. Scotland the Brave.
Works for me . . .
I'm an English man but do i love the pipes and drums hard to keep your feet still
Ahh, Scotland, the civilized part of Britain. The country that puts the Great into Great Britain.
Stay strong Scotland and keep your culture. Keep the migrants away and keep your children safe.
Europe! Me must unite!
Against all evils
Love it, the Brits certainly know how to put on a parade.
Black Bear!
No ne can close to the Brits for their ceremonies.
Scotland the brave!!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤
Outstanding!!!!
Sooo COOL. Love it ❤
and without British rule this would not be possible. Look at all this lovley British rule you sweaty socks!

🏴🏴🏴
In the end, is that all bands performing together? It's amazing.
❤❤
At the end “Merge in turn”, maybe we need to have the pipes playing at roadworks.
I think I prefer the Black Bear to Scotland the Brave - but it is a close run contest.
Must have absolutely frightening to their enemies in battle to hear them coming from a long way off.
SALUTE
How can the Edinburgh Tattoo survive? The Royal Tournament was ‘dumped’ many years ago,as it was no longer financially viable?
What is your profession?

Where was this and what bands were involved?
Sounds good to me!
pipes and drums : celtic music ?
Can someone please tell me the name of the march they're playing?
Scotland the Brave and the Black Bear (my favourite)! I think.
@@audspod1 Thank you very much, you were very kind.
Could have done without the crowd clapping along.
