  • Our latest video offers further evidence that Thames Valley Police are increasingly taking reports of incidents of bad driving involving cyclists far more seriously than they have in the past. All the motorists in our video were offered the option of attending a driver education course for a day, as an alternative to prosecution, at his/her own expense.
This is not to say the system is perfect and aspects of the reporting procedure and investigation of these incidents are still of concern, but it appears that a more robust and consistent policy is developing and that #3rdpartyreporting has an important role to play in policing our roads, both in the Thames Valley area and nationally. Education, whether via social media campaigns or targeting motorists who endanger cyclists is key to making our roads safer for all users, especially the most vulnerable.
All the incidents in this video were avoidable and unnecessary. The motorists involved could have taken more care when passing the cyclists involved, but chose not to. Thames Valley Police agreed with our position that the driving fell below accepted standards, hence the action taken.
Please contact us via our website if you have any questions relating to #3rdpartyreporting
