It's straightforward for me: Alistrair Johnston is one of my favourite Celtic players in the modern era and he has shown all the qualities that would make a quality captain. I would be thrilled if he stays with us till retirement, true Lustig regen imo.

It's not at all strange that he mentioned Dane Murray - he's just been exceptionally unlucky with injuries etc and would certainly have been given more exposure and seen less players signed in the position had his fitness not been what it was. He has regularly been regarded as being very impressive in attitude and professionalism. I think his leadership and loyalty is seen as a blueprint for other youngers, at our club, to follow and that he is seen as a future stalwart.

Just checked and Tynecastle isn't even sold out for tonight's game.
This is where the SPFL/SFA need to step in and take action.
This game is live on TV and there will be swathes of empty seats all over the stadium. This is a terrible look for Scottish football in what is one of the league's flagship fixtures. It'd be one thing if there was just no demand for tickets but this isn't the case. This is a case of Hearts refusing to sell tickets to Celtic fans and preferring to have those seats empty instead.
If this was a Saturday 3pm and not on TV then it wouldn't matter so much but it is live on TV and what message does rows & rows of empty seats send out to any casual viewers who happen to switch over to the game? What does it say to potential sponsors of the league?
If Hearts can sell out the stadium then fair enough, just give Celtic 500 tickets if you want but that isn't the case and once again the people in charge of Scottish football are doing their level best to make it look silly.

Yet another example of how badly run the Scottish game is it’s not fit for purpose. Unless you overhaul it and root out the old mindsets nothing will change and our league will struggle to get investment.

Aye. I will never understand why directors of clubs like to see empty seats in their stadium. They're gonna get beat by Celtic so why not take our money at least.

Petty rivalry will be the death of the Scottish game.

No high boots please today ! I just watched Saka nearly take the Forest players head off today at the Emerets and he only received a yellow. However we all know that Celtic are held to different standards when they go to Tynecastle.

Cynical, but expanding the stadium risks making the club too appealing to outside investors.

The big takeaway from the AGM is that as a club we are going to continue doing the bare minimum required to deliver domestic success.
We will not be spending any significant money on infrastructure, stadium improvements, youth development etc.... but instead we're going to be hoarding a mountain of cash for the inevitable day when this miserly approach eventually bites us on the backside

Sublime from our Board, as always.
Stadium upgrades aren't financially viable - those asking for them clearly don't understand the market.
