I am planning to buy bullet electra cast iron engine with 5 speed gearbox. How's the maintenance? Does it vibrate like UCE engines ? As many recommended i excluded AVL engine. Main usage is daily short rides and occasional highway cruising !
Its lovely to ride ... true RE fans love it ... vibrations are there obviously but they are thumpy vibes ... and if that bothers you REs are not for you ... AVL engines had loads of faults in their built so they are not reliable ... maintenance cost is a bit more than the UCE model engine about 10% more 👌

Hi Bro.......just wanted some advice about the old electra 4S model. I am being offered a well maintained 2004 model Electra 4 speed by my mechanic at 60k. Is it reliable for long rides.. I don't mean to push the bike to 100+ kms..my cruising speed is 70 - 80...at the most 90.... Can this bike cruise at such speed all day without any issues??? As of now my daily usage is a total of 15kms.. But once in a month I ride around 800kms..
In this model the self start system was more like a jugaad coming straight from the factory ... the one-way clutch was the main issue and that part is very hard to source now and also costs more than ₹5000 plus labour .

Yes it's last cast iron, AVL has different type of head and bore kit.
Even I have this Bullet, my dad bought it initially, I have a different variant without the disc and electric start, but man I love this beauty.

I have a 2007 machismo 350 with AVL engine, i brought 2008 electric 5 speed CI engine with self start will be swapping this engine to Machismo 350
