A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you. -Matthew 12:35-37

Your video proves you never did any research on Lonzo Ball. Go view his highlights at UCLA and you will see why they called him Steph with a 40 inch vertical. Lonzo averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assist at his 1 season at UCLA where he took 7 3-pointers a game and made 42.4% and was the top 3 point shooter in his draft class. His changed his shooting form at the NBA level but he took more than 4 and he was hitting them at 1/2 court. He also had some phenomenal dunks at UCLA. He was the most athletic Ball brother. How is it Reed, who took 3 less 3 pointers than Ball, average less points, is only 6 '2 to Balls 6'6 destined to be the next Steph? If you use Lonzo's college stats as a barometer, he was more in line with becoming Steph than this guy.
@@BallGuy-pm8pz his shooting form was always criticized
@@garygary9993 Zo's shooting form was criticized but he came out of UCLA as the top shooting guard in the draft shooting at 42% on a high volume. So the form was criticized but the results were not impacted. That's why there is a difference between he and Ben Simmons. Ben never made them in college so his transition is much harder than Zo who was already use to seeing the ball go in the basket at the 3. When Zo changed his form in the NBA, he was effective at hitting them.
Amen
People forget how good curry was in college. The amount of defensive pressure he got was insane and he still delivered.
I think Reeds potential is very underrated. He's a FRESHMAN who can score at this efficiently. If he works on his handle he could be a 20+ ppg guy
Play more like Klay
ESPN has Reed Sheppard going number 3 in their mock draft to the Rockets. NBA scouts have been impressed with what they are seeing from him.
Y’all trippin if you think he can hang with guards in the nba. That’s the reason he getting pushed back from top 3 to top 6. Bro has ZERO bag and can’t get to the rim like that.. wtf y’all be talkin bout bro
Try 30 or 40.
@@jerrydjones5328 you don't need a "bag" to score 20 points your a casual
His standing reach was 7'9" bro definitely packed his shoulder on the vert test
The vert test is so easily gamed. They need to either measure vert with a jump plate, OR just measure max standing reach and max jumping touch height. Way better than measuring height and (trying to measure) vertical leap.
Right i’m 5’9 wit a 7’6 with an average wingspan
@@JeanCJP I don't know what "average wingspan" is, but almost all the NBA guys have a wingspan bigger than their height. And height isn't the most useful measurement, because some guys have really long necks.
I was watching a NBA game this year and a 6'9" blocked a 7'0" and one announcer was surprised, but the other announcer said, "Yeah, that guy is only 6'9", but he has a 7'3" wingspan, and a [can't remember] standing reach."
So, height doesn't functionally matter for basketball! Wingspan, standing reach, and max-jump-touch.
@@DrKnowNothing1 i meant standing reach lol
Pat Connaughton did the same he got some bounce tho too
He jj Reddick with 40 inch vertical
Exactly maybe jj with a 36" vertical and a better handle. Steph Curry is a stretch. Steph Curry at Davidson isn't losing to Oakland in the Tourney.
Ya. NGL. Reed failed my eye test during the season. Steph was wayyyyyy better in college. Infinitely stronger court presence, lights out shooting, better handles. Reed didn’t play big against the biggest competition. But that’s why we play the games. Top end JJ Reddick with a 40” very. no way he gets to Booker and won’t sniff Steph’s sneakers imo.
Way better asset than Reddick and a better shooter than him too. Better defense better overall iq player. He's not similar to Steph in anything but 3pt efficiency but he could easily be better than Fred Vanvleet
*Way better passer
naaahh. JJ couldn't penetrate at all. he was allergic to the paint and waaay 1 dimensional. Reed will be a better NBA player than JJ ever was.
Rockets fa an here. Perfect mentor in Fred VV, similar style and under contract for 1 or 2 years. Perfect time to develop. Once fvv is gone he can take over. Rockets need a future PG, a future 3(sf), and a back up defensive center. This will address one need for sure.

Anyone who says he’s too small and “lacks athleticism” is hilarious.
He can really shoot, we all know that. That is something that translates extremely well to the NBA. Especially this era of shooting.
He’s not an elite one on one defender, but has tremendous hands/anticipation which results in STEALS. That’s valuable. He’s essentially John Stockton on defense.
Chris Paul wasn’t athletic either and is 5’11 without shoes. Yet he ended up a 7x All-First Team defender and was a tremendous passer/led the league in steals multiple times. Despite not great athleticism and being small.
Why? Because of his super high basketball IQ. I’m not saying Reed is going to be Chris Paul, or Stockton, of course not.
But the BB IQ he’s displayed, the talent in steals and defensive anticipation he’s displayed, and the SHOOTING he’s displayed….as a true FRESHMAN?!?!
The potential is certainly there. And those dogging him for being small and lacking elite athleticism are making the same exact mistake those idiots made by doubting Luka Doncic for his lack of athleticism and lack of defense.
In this weak draft class, Reed is gonna be one of the future all-stars (maybe the only one) to come out of it.
All that for what
Is this "lack of athleticism" premise based entirely around the fact that he's not black? If you kept everything about this dude exactly the same in every way but changed his name to Rashad Sheppard and gave him extra melanin he'd be dubbed one of the most explosive athletes in the draft off of the vertical alone.
You’re underplaying how great Chris Paul’s ball handling and finishing was at a point. This kid has the shooting but it’s not even close when it comes to running an offense
@@somealias-zs1bwwith that same argument most commentators would also remove that “high iq” label if he were black. He’s just simply not as explosive as other players. He does use that 42 vert for some blocks tho but other than that he isn’t a very explosive guy.
@@timothydavis4161 "other than being explosive, he's just not very explosive." ok bro, over and out lmao.
The Spurs should draft Reed Shepard at 4 if he's available.
I’ve been thinking the same thing we could use a lethal 3 point Shark shooting point guard. Then we could get a lengthy player at number 8 like Tidjane Salaun or Ron Holland. At this point I’m liking Reed Shepard more than Topic and Dillingham.
He shouldn’t be available though. Rockets should pick Sheppard if they don’t trade the pick.

God, no F grade selection

This kid is going to be one of the best 3 point shooters in the NBA. The question is what team needs a consistent 3 point sharp shooter.

HOUSTON ROCKETS needs one bad
If the spurs can get reed the nba is in trouble I think
The list of previous Kentucky guards currently in the NBA is impressive. 😊
And all drafted low, which means Calipari is a great recruiter, but crap coach.
At this point Kentucky is just a factory for lottery picks
Houston
I see a mix of Devin Booker, John Stockton, and flashes of Steph Curry. But with more explosiveness than any of them
Very smart, sound fundamentals, but will have to develope. And he will... He has strong will, and drive to develope.
I cant wait for Reed to show up and silence everyone in here who keeps disrespecting him. Go Rockets 🚀🚀🚀
The Rockets will take him at 3. VanVleet is the perfect tutor for him and Udoka will get the best out of him. I don't think he is Steph Curry but he could be VanVleet. His fit with Houston is too good for them to pass him up.
Sheppard has big potential now knowing that he has a 40 inch vertical!
Aye before that knee injury lonzo started to look like it 😅
He got Klay form
That's exactly who I saw when I kept watching tape on him!

Spurs would be a great fit with wemby being a great outside shooter and coming off screens and pick and rolls
I'd like to see Minnesota trade out of Towns to Washington for their pick + contracts (Avidija and Kispert come to mind).
Reed Sheppard + Ant Edwards backcourt would be NASTY.
Sheppard is one of the growing number of Curry Clones. He blazed the trail for the Score First PG. But it's important to remember Curry's game didn't really need athleticism. If Sheppard can get to 75% of Curry effectiveness he'll be a massive asset. I think he has a great chance.
I think you all are underplaying how fast curry is on and off the ball while also having crazy cardio. He may not be a high flyer but he’s pretty damn athletic
@@timothydavis4161 so is reed tho

Didn't 'experts' were saying the same thing about Mcclongun? How that turned out? It's silly to compare someone to MJ, or Steph, or Luka. These are once in a lifetime generational talents and we'll never see anyone as good as them.
San Antonio all the way, the next building block. Wembanyama, Vassell, Sochan, Sheppard, and 8th pick or trade. I am getting Tony Parker vibes.
I think he should good 4 or 8 for the spurs he fits the profile better than Rob and topic

I'm so happy to hear someone else say the TRUTH! KY BORN, KY MADE! It's in his blood! People forget that his Dad, Jeff Shepherd, gave Michael Jordan the business before he got hurt and his MOM Stacy was the TRUTH! Heads up to the filmmakers... a story for the ages just occurred in Eddieville, KY. population 2,480...a group of kids and their underrated Coach just pulled off the State Title. We witnessed quite possibly the best team KY and one of the best America has ever seen! The Seniors have gone D1 and now the world will know who they are. This is the opportunity to make an award winning documentary and to give these young men and the small dirt poor Town that raised them with integrity, tenacity, drive and instilled in them the belief that the impossible, the attention and respect they rightfully deserve. LONDON, KY.....EDDYVILLE, KY...STAND UP!
That was Rex Chapman , not Jeff Shepherd
I would love to see my chicago bulls draft him, but we love long guards that can't shoot!

Here we go again.. comparing haha! This season, i don't trust any of the takes now.
It was all good till you said Dillon Brooks he was 1 of our best 3 point shooters sorry
Tyler herro with better defense?
I am not sold on this guy at all. I think the system at Kentucky was the primary reason that he excelled. He is smart but I think he is a system player perfect for the college and play-driven system. Able to grasp a system and read it so he was good at exploiting this system against college athletes but doing that in the NBA is a different story where it is more one-on-one and players are not going to give him those same wide-open looks at the basket. I don't see the range on his shot that Step Curry naturally possesses. Stephen Curry's release is much faster and when you really play him up close he can't create in one-on-one situations as proven in the NCAA tournament when he only scored 3 pts. Guys really guard you up closer in the NBA, especially off the bounce the competition is not college-level talent. His athletic ability is jumping off one leg. The truth of the matter most athletic plays are done off of two legs except for maybe run-outs or running jumps which don't happen that much in half-court sets. He is not a leaper and even the 42-inch verticle which I find very hard to believe was off one leg. His T-rex-type arms will be a size mismatch against the longer more true athletic ability of NBA players especially for someone who measures 6'1.75" and gives him 6'3.25" in shoes. Also, those frequent steals will not happen at the NBA especially not with any regularity of the college game. Why? The NBA guards are better ball handlers and there is more spacing which makes it harder to get in passing lanes, especially with those t rex arms he has. Anyway, he was a high steals guy playing on-ball defense at the college level but college guards are not the depth ball handers that the NBA possesses. My prediction is he can be another TJ McConnel at best or out of the league after his first contract is up.
mite make it, its alot of guards like him in the league and college. he just gots to stay in the league if he gets there.
I can't believe Rob and Reed were both on the bench in Kentucky. How?
its because american born white players do not get a fair shake he was the best player on kentucky
Cal.
did you pen this on april 1st ?
Tbh I feel like Zach LaVine is curry with a 50 inch vertical 😂
He's 6'1
6'1.75" at the combine without shoes....Steph Curry 6'2" at combine without shoes...Donovan Mitchell 6'1.25" at combine without shoes. He shot better than Curry in college (albeit with a much smaller sample size, but at better basketball program), and had a better max vertical than Mitchell at combine.
Hes already a better defender than curry
Can he shoot off the dribble
2k shows it all
I can see Reed
He plays like Mac McClung
He doesn’t actually have a 40” vert he did the arm trick
Arm trick, huh? He should, at minimum, either receive credit for his smarts if he truly did find some new way to cheat the system or his athleticism. Maybe he did use some new method that NO ONE else did, or maybe 🤔 he is just a great leaper. If he did cheat (which you are suggesting), he still tied for tops in the entire combine. Take the numbers out. He was still tied for FIRST place with every participant this year.
@@BrianLawrence-vk3pu Look up what the arm trick is for vert. Reed admitted he did it in a interview too. it’s not a new method at all
My point is not whether he did it or not. My argument is everyone does it. If everyone does it and he still was the best, what does it matter? So he gained and inch or two. Maybe his vert is 40 or 41 rather than 42. He was tops in this class. The BEST in '24 draft class (albeit a couple others tied). There is no way to accurately test any of these things. People find ways to manipulate tests. But they all do it. For the NFL combine, one guy has shorter arms and a barrel shaped chest and he does puts up 42 reps at 225. The next guy has a wingspan 8" longer and a flatter chest and he does 225 only 36 times. Is the first guy that much stronger than the second or did he just have advantages due to the laws of physics? All combine participants are measured in various areas. Often I hear "well yes but he way injured at the time and wasn't 100%" or "he hasn't been able to work out due to and injury." But had never heard before that and individual gained an advantage by using a trick. Trick must be another way of saying he followed the rules and someone didn't like the results. Because if he had cheated he would have been disqualified for that jump.
@@BrianLawrence-vk3pu Not everyone does but some did it in the past
Some did it in the past? Does that mean he was the only one to do it in '24 or just the only one to admit it? Maybe he just has more integrity. Admitting something that is either allowed or not detectable given the current grading system.
We have the ability through GPS to measure altitude difference. The simplest solution is allow a computer to measure the altitude change on the heels of the feet. You start from the floor and measure to the apex. The height you can reach with a fingertip is affected by many variables such as flexibility. These other variables can skew the test. Bottom line, he measured 42" and NO ONE beat him in this class.

Lonzo played nothing like Steph in college. Reed plays a lot like Steph.
Lonzo was almost entirely and on ball scorer who utilized one on one isolation heavily. Reed primarily operates off ball and his on ball creation mostly comes from the pick and roll.
