You absolutely can blame Boone. You don’t pitch to the guy they obviously sent up there to swing for the fence. You put him on and pitch to the next guy. Gimenez was up next and struck out in 3 pitches. Vogt out managed him right there and it could have easily been countered if our manager had the knowledge to do so. Yeah Weaver gave up the home run, but Boone solidified the situation that went down.
Tuned out on extra innings when the Yanks were up because i knew Clay was going to give it up. Turns out i was right 😂 thats baseball, folks! Hopefully, Yanks take the next 2
Huge yankee fan but what is Kay talking about Cleveland shouldn't be on same field as Yankees, they have 2nd best AL record, big time ludicrous weird statement!
@@LJMarte8 is there anyone in baseball who has been brutally KO’d more times in 2024 than Clay Holmes? He came back and pitched great. What more does he need to show you to convince you he can move on from a blown save?
I disagree that you can’t blame Boone for this game. I’m not going to rip him because he’s been good these playoffs for the most part, but removing Wells from the lineup because of his offensive struggles and then pinch hitting him later made no sense. The manager also takes some responsibility when the entire team continues to make base-running mistakes.
And using Weaver in game 2 was a questionable decision. I also would have used anyone other than Holmes in the 10th, although the options were very limited.
What do you mean, who are they gonna pitch? It better be Weaver or Holmes or whoever from that bull pen! Why do they give these pitchers so much rest during the regular season if they have to be this concerned in the playoffs? These playoff games is why they give them so much rest during the season. Let them Pitch!!!
It's just a matter of basic human biology and muscle performance. At some point, after throwing a certain number of pitches, the arm muscles become fatigued and their performance declines. It becomes more difficult for the pitcher to achieve the velocity and spin rate he needs on each pitch. It's not easy to see with the naked eye, and the pitcher himself might not even be aware that his arm is tired, but it's a fact nonetheless. You can keep a tired arm out there and tell him to suck it up because it's the playoffs, but the arm will still be tired.

Neither do I, but the Guardians don't need to sweep the next 3 to win the series. They only need to win 3 of the next 4 games. Which also sounds like a tall order for them, but it's totally doable.
You’re looking to stress if you’re a NYY worried about a Gil vs Williams matchup. Okay Gill walks guys but the guardians aren’t a team that walks a lot 🤷🏼♂️
Don was wrong (which is rare) when he said “how you win doesn’t matter.” It absolutely matters. If you can win a game in a blowout, that’s a massive massive advantage. Your bullpen gets a rest and they aren’t overexposed. If it’s game 7, sure, it doesn’t matter. But not in the other 6 games.
Cleveland is a gritty bunch? It took a once in a lifetime shot to tie the game and another miracle shot to win it in the 10th lmao Cleveland sucks. Yankees in 5
I blame Boone for using Weaver too much. It was unnecessary for him to pitch game 2

Noel had not hit a home run since August and was hitting .100 in the playoffs.. are you aware of that?
Sure he gets some blame but most of it is on the pen. They had been lights out all season and against KC

This wasn't the first game this season where the Yanks were one strike away from winning and then the closer blew it.
If I can recall it happen similar in the Baltimore series back in July before all star break

I disagree about the preferring to lose 3-1.
That clutch HR has got to help boost Judge’s mentality
I’d be more concerned with preserving Clay’s mentality after being demoted

if anyone is to blame it's trevino for costing them a run on the basepaths. completely inexcusable
Imagine these closers against the Mets or Yankees right now
LMAO
Kay was acting like this series was over after game 1. Maybe we should actually PLAY instead of ASSUMING?
As a Yankee fan i have to admit, it doesn't look good right now. Every game from tonight on is a must win.
They are not in the same situation as in 2022 when they were down 3-0
Thank you for the video!

It should have been 6-3! Top of the 9th, Verdugo on 3rd, and the ump calls Soto out on a strike, ON A BALL!!!!
Judge and Stanton can't hold a candle to Clutch Hitters like Many R + Big Poppie.
Holmes can’t close a game out to save his life
Why are the yanks only on the short end of these”epic” games all the time?🤔
Weaver didn’t need to pitch in game 2. We were up 4. Boone ran him out there. Bad call and we payed for it in game 3. It’s a new day. Yanks in 5 still
That one hurt, but you have to move on quick. Get it done.
Why does Boone keep putting Holmes in high-stress situations?
Also-Another base running mistake
Who else?
Yes the lost hurt however I don’t see the Yankees losing 4 straight

As much as that sucked if they win tonight last night becomes irrelevant.

2 words: clay holmes.
He had 15 scoreless innings in the postseason before last night…
Cleveland doesn’t belong in the same field as the Yankees? Give me a break, Cleveland gifted the Yankees Games 1&2.
Yep, typical spoiled and arrogant NY bias.
Yeah rite 😂yanks are crap 😂
They gifted game 1 but game 2 they missed their opportunities with the base loaded
Cleveland sucks
