Kendall is my favorite drum major this season! I love the Cadets brass line
Those tuba's at 2:35 sound absolutely perfect! Wow!
My God, those tubas. Insane amounts of power in this hornline
I swear watching Kendall conduct is something I'm really gonna miss after this season. Truly a master of her craft. Great video as always, by the way, HornlineFanatic.
Completely agree. Such a distinct style that I've featured on this channel since DCI Opening Night in 2014. So talented, not to mention a class act and nice person. Her conducting will definitely be missed! Also, thanks for the kind words 😎
I was not expecting such a BEAUTIFUL sound 😭
You should it's Cadets they always sound beautiful
Oh yeah. I don't always like their shows, but they have one of the best horn lines tonally in drum corps as a whole
the drum major is just so delicate and i love it. she does her own things and you can tell she loves what she does so much. it's gr8
I know it's been four years, but I still believe this is one of the best horn line sounds you'll ever hear. And, Kendall is a master of her craft. It's always a pleasure to watch her conduct! Great job, Fanatic!
FINALLY someone took the choir arrangement of Bridge over Troubled Water (look up Westminster chorus) and translated it to drum corps brass. Thank you, Cadets.
Nice catch!
It's definitely the Ben Bram arrangement!
those contras man holy hell lol
That perfect low C at 3:09 in Rocky Point :)
RIP Cadets. One of my favorite warmup videos. They were great.
Horkstow grange gives me chills. I wanna be a part of this hornline so bad.
I wish their 2016 show was as good as their brass line. WOW, some amazing playing by Cadets! Love those arrangements! Come on Cadets...let's get a brass line like this back on the field in 2018.
There's just something in their trumpet sound that just says, CADETS. No other corps has that sound.
It is nice to see one of my favorite pieces used as a warm up, Pines of Rome. Nice job! Sounded amazing!
It's not a warm up its their actual show music!
The finest conductor I have ever seen in front of a drum corps. So very easy to follow. I am shure she learned much from Geno who is also a great conductor.
Good Lord, that brass section! Jim Ott worthy in every way that year, despite the final brass scores. Very clearly the best brass of 2016 all season long.
Wow the contras at 2:35... coming from a trumpet player
I find it crazy that their tubs can produce that much sound with only 10. Awesome video and great quality as always.
Hadn't counted them until you said that! So true. Incredible section. And thanks for the kind words!
I think also part of what you are hearing is the trombones.
chills from bridge over troubled water
Been a while since the last video. Amazing quality and awesome upload as always!!!
Thanks :)
I'm kinda digging them in the black uniforms. Great video quality as always. Looking forward to more!
The switch was definitely a surprise last summer, but it's a nice fit. Thanks, and hoping to have a lot more soon!
You're directly responsible for feeding my addiction this summer. I got to check out Phantom Regiment when they stopped in Warren, Ohio for a practice. The last time I remember seeing them was at finals in 92!
Hahaha, glad to be an enabler 😎
Beautiful brass sound and awesome.
I'm hearing some absolutely beautiful and creative progressions that just soothe the music theory part of my heart.
At 2:31 - Not even sure WHAT is going on there but I love the last chord from the low brass into that Bb impact. Sounds like a C# Sus4?
And again at 4:15 - C minor 7, Ab major, G minor 9th, F minor 11th-Eb Major, C# Major 7, F# major over Bb.
Truly great musicality. Does anyone know what the last piece is called?
Lincolnshire Posy Mvmt. 2 - Horkstow Grange
The whole work is incredible, and the Cadets do the second movement justice
At 2:34 on the chord leading into the Bb, I'm hearing (ascending) C#, F#, Bb, Eb from the low brass, which jguitar.com tells me is a C#6sus2sus4, or maybe you could just call it an F#6 with the major triad in 2nd inversion :) Last piece is Lincolnshire Posy II. Horkstow Grange.
Love your work and love The Cadets! Thank you for all your vids!
Thanks for watching and for your kind words as always!!
Another amazing job. Thank you so much for capturing these moments!
Thanks for watching. My pleasure!
Ah, fantastic! I've been waiting for new videos from you. They always sustain my DCI lust during the off-season.
The Cadets have an amazing hornline as usual. Hope you can get SCV's this season too, those tubas are not to be missed!
Thanks so much. Would love to catch SCV.
Oh my god the mellos at 3:19. Such clarity in each note with that speed and time. Wow.
Ahh just in time to quench my thirst for DCI before finals. Video is amazing as they always are! Keep up the great work!
Thank you 😎
2:52 One of the best tunes imo
notification squad represent
:)
Fantastic video as always. Loving the hornline this year.
Thanks for watching!! :)
AW YISSSS
Glissando killed me at 2:33
Awesome video. Thank you so much for posting this!!
Thanks for watching :)
Fantastic audio quality as always!
Thank you :)
Bridge over troubled water?? Very blooo representative. What annoys me is you guys in the lot get better audio than DCI does for the finals recordings. Makes no sense, but I love you all for hooking us up.
+brown55061 not sure what the bloo reference is but thanks for the kind words! Recording a hornline alone is definitely much simpler than recording a full corps on the move, so I definitely have that working in my favor :)
HornlineFanatic I think he might be talking about Bloo's rendition of The Boxer, which is also by Simon and Garfunkel
+RUclips User ohhh yeah true
The first bluecoats played bridge over troubled water in the 70s and 80s. RIB still plays it with the corps at home shows. You barely hear the song on the radio anymore, so hearing Cadets play it is cool.
awesome brass sounds !!!!
2:52 the moment I knew it was about to get real ! amazing video and sound.
Omg this is just phenomenal!!!
Those contras at 2:34 holy crap
Oh horkstow grange.....
3:29 = chills
A virtual reality camera system would be great for these videos
I have thought about some of the new 360 and VR camera possibilities, but being truly obsessed with audio, I wouldn't want to use it until RUclips had a way of rotating stereo or surround channels around to match the moving image (maybe an opportunity for me to get involved in the design of a new open source vid codec). And on a separate note, I wouldn't touch surround sound until I knew there was a good workflow / setup that would be at least as clean as my current audio. Currently, I don't think there is, but I'd love to be wrong about that.
+HornlineFanatic just a thought , you're doing a great job with you're videos already , but that touch would make them extra sweet !
When the quality gets to where it needs to be, I will be open to new the new formats :)
癖の強い指揮だな
What a wonderful video. Came straight here after their allentown performance. Any chance you filmed the horn feature? I've been listening it all week! Amazing sound quality my the way 👍
Aww thanks! Not sure if I did. Lots of footage to go through so I'll have to see!
I have a friend in the Cavaliers, and Im anxious to see a video of the 2016 Hornline
Currently figuring out when I'm going to catch them.
Just blew out my car speakers. I'm really going to have to spend some money on new ones
lol not surprised 😂
Make sure they can handle midrange tones! Many consumer speaker systems seem to pump lots of bass and treble, but fail miserably with lots of distortion when it comes to brass sounds.
+HornlineFanatic sign of the times.
No more cadets...😢
1:54 Pines button
Great video as usual! One of the best follows on RUclips. Are the mellophones playing French horns in the last song?
Thanks :) and yes they are playing concert french horns and trombones on the last song.
can someone tell me what the last medley was from i cant remember it.
everyone just knows that dissonant chord in Lincolnshire Posy II.
2:52 rocky point
Bridge over troubled waters? anyone?
FHNSAB.
Jesus fucking Christ
Do you happen to have any Cavaliers 2016 footage?
