  • Hey Frenzzz!
Hitting you with another comparison video, and we have Pat McGrath’s Divine Rose and Viseart’s Paris Edit palettes! I’m sorry that I couldn’t create two more looks, but hopefully the 4 I did can shed some light on the two.
The standout differences between palettes is that Divine Rose has Refined Gold 002, Sable Bronze, and Iridescent Pink-all of which do not exist in the Paris Edit. And vice versa, St. Germain and many other shimmers in the Paris Edit don’t exist in Divine Rose. I think the Paris Edit is more rosy all around, with a lot of variations of pink and peach. Which makes me feel that Divine Rose has little more bronze/gold to its story. Let me know what you think down below!

I think I'm going to just stick with my Divine Rose. I have darker skin and it looks like DR gives you more color payoff from the start. Thank you for doing this comparison!

Well, I knew I wouldn’t be completely objective here, since I own Divine Rose. Viseart is a very pretty, approachable palette (you & I use the same foundation shades). If it were gifted to me, and I didn’t have Divine Rose, I’d be a very happy camper. But I like the fact that it may be easier to “pump up the volume” in terms of intensity & contrast of shades with Divine Rose. Not to mention that I LOVE Velouria. Like, in a deep & romantic way. Like I want to crawl inside of it... matter of fact it would be a great color for a duvet cover! Lol. As a matter of fact, I’m going to try your 2nd Divine Rose look just to mix it up. Because one day, my Velouria will be gone. (No.... 😰)

Wow- I know PM has those special shades but overall, I love and really am in awe of the Viseart both in the tones and overall performance! Viseart shadows are wonderful. 😘. I so appreciate when you do these sorts of videos. I love that Hakuhodo brush!!

  • @GlamGirlChelsea
    @GlamGirlChelsea 4 года назад +8

Oh girl, you know me so well! When you said “medial” I was like “yes anatomy terminology!” And then you said, “Hey Chelsea” 😂 I don’t have either of these palettes and want both (and will eventually get both), but based on the looks you created, I most definitely will be getting the Viseart first. Like you said, it’s economically more digestible, it’s smaller, travel friendly, and I liked the warmth of the Viseart palette. I didn’t expect the shades you used to be as neutral-warm as they are! This was so helpful so please continue to do more of these!

Hi Alicia! I love so much your tutorials. I already have the divine rose and I am waiting for the Paris edit to be delivered 🤭 My feeling is that the Paris edit is "softer" in tones, more daytime, more spring like, but I'll wait to play with it to have a better idea. To be honest, I kept saying to myself that I didn't needed the Paris edit, but the color scheme is definitely right up in my alley... And I love Viseart shadows. I wish I could send you a vocal message with all the names like cerise, fleur, tuileries, saint Germain... It's so cute to hear them pronounced by English speakers, but I am sure for some of them you would be surprised to hear them pronounced by a frenchie, I think it could be funny. No shade at all, I have a strong French accent when I speak English. Thx for the video and stay safe 😘🙏

You could help me :) I have been wanting to make some videos (for fun and educational) pronouncing shadows in their native language (Spanish, French, etc.) versus how they’re pronounced in English. You could be the French voice in the video 🙂 Contact me on insta if you see this @AlexMakeupTalk

I have the Divine Rose but ordered this one last night. I love the Divine Rose but I like that this one is tiny and I can start with different mattes. I find the mattes in the Divine Rose makes me look bruised. Like you said, there is a pink side to the Viseart palette. Hope I don't regret getting the Viseart too. 👍🏻 great demo and review

Of the 2, Divine Rose works best on my medium deep complexion. Even Velouria is flattering and doesn't look ashy at all. The Xtreme Mahogany is the perfect chocolate brown for adding definition or smoke. The colour story is more subtle than some of Pat's other palettes but the shadows are still very pigmented so it doesn't take much effort to build intensity.

Thank you for all your review videos! They're amongst my favourite on youtube along with Robert Welsh, Wayne Goss, and Alexandra Anele's. After watching the demo I'm so glad I went with Divine Rose. It's just tad more universal. I'm mixed so my skin tone changes a lot and Divine Rose just looks friendlier for tanned skin. My skin is neutral with slight leans towards cool tones so having warm rosy palettes I can use is fantastic.

It’s so pretty but leans cool and I tend to not like cool tones on me. That blue- gray in the viseart reminds me of the blue-gray in mario palette. I have and love both. I am a white girl, so both work. I just have to blend the Divine Rose out more. Not in the Divine Rose but in some of the motherships, I have to dip out to get a transition shade, same with the Jackie Aina pallet, but it’s fine.
Darker girls have had to dip out for many years, so not complaining.
I actually made a three shade, one highlight 4 pan pallet, for incomplete pallets, for one reason or another.
    Great job as usual, Alicia👁🧑🏽‍🎨

I prefer the Paris edit. I'm about an NC44 and I tried the Divine Rose after holding off and decided I didn't like the undertones of the shades or color story much although, the Divine Rose has shades that would show up better on deeper skin tones.

Yes, I'm NC 45 and I returned Divine Rose. It was very dull and not colorful enough on my skin tone.

@@Kimberlicia Exactly. When I tried the more neutral shades they were very dull. I ended up returning it too. So I never understood the hype with the palette.

Thank you so much for this showdown! 😍
Gaargh! I have been eyeing the PM, but I think Imma stick to my Paris Edit. I am tempted of that VR shade, but have decided I'll throw some money on a dictionary - and those lovely 'Handful of Freckles' and 'Sweetcheecks' eyeshadows at Sigil, which is Russian makeup. They have a bunch of *amazing* effect shades that we only see as 'special shades' here in the west, reasonable pricing and possible to buy very small amounts. Loose powders only (but I find them easy to work with).

Great video, I have been wanting someone to compare these. I have divine rose and had to really press pause for the Paris edit bc I was immediately drawn to it. While they are not the same there is enough there to make me stick with divine rose. Kindof wishing I had gotten Paris first (bc hello cheaper) but I appreciate you and the way you break down the info!

Love this type of video!! More shadow showdowns please! I feel like there’s so much repetition in the makeup industry and new releases launching every week it’s overwhelming sometimes trying to decide what to buy vs what we already have 😊

I ordered both of these palettes recently (stuck in quarantine) because I’m obsessed with finding the perfect mauves & taupes. I’m awaiting the arrival of divine rose :) I’ve been watching all your videos related to these palettes and this one is fantastic as well!! I can’t wait to practice with both of these palettes!

I love taupes & mauves, too. If you happen to have it, PML's Platinum Bronze (6-pan) pairs beautifully w/Divine rose, esp. for more "everyday friendly" looks. It can also help your look lean more cool-toned, if you like.

I love this video thank you for doing this video. I have both pallets and feel they both have their place. I finally took the Divine Rose out of its package and put it on top of my long pallets on my dresser so I can reach for it more easily. And I just ordered the Ritualistic Rose quad. Stay safe Alicia.

I bought Paris Edit from Beautylish but it had a broken shade. Before returning, I swatched it and realized that there were several shades in it from the original Paris Nudes palette which I have and love. I still appreciate the functionality of Paris Edit and may purchase it again in the future but on sale. I used the store credit to pick up Viseart Milieu while it was on sale for $48 ❤️😍🥳 SO happy!!!

As much as I want to get Divine Rose, I just know that I don't have enough money for it. It's comforting to know that Paris Edit is still a worthy opponent so I'd be more than happy to pick that up!

I just got Viseart Dark Edit (mostly because of you and Mel) but I'm surprised that so few has made videos on it. Not even Mel has done one 🙄 So I'm hoping you maybe could do a video like this with it, so I can get more inspiration 😊
Ps I'm gonna try all the looks you did in your 4 looks review 😉

Thank you for this comparison video. I already have several of the Pat McGRATH palettes. But I think I will go with the Viseart Palette. Although I really like how the Divine Rose palette looks the Viseart palette is more economic for me especially during this time..
