This is honestly one of the best BEST REVIEWS OF ANYTHING I've ever had the pleasure to watch. I'm glad I found your channel. Thank you for the work you put into this review, sir.

Great tips on how to adjust. Things Hornady doesn't mention in their manual.

    Nice video, thanks! 🙂
Even 8 years later there are those of us buying this unit - as of right now this cost (hold on to your hats gentlemen) $1500 here in Norway!
BTW: I think the reason your case didn't shrink in length as expected, was that you forgot to loosen the set screw in the back when you turned the adjustment wheel to lower the case - it looks like it was just tightened more and more, never loosened ;-)

I would place a thrust bearing and two thrust bearing washers below the adjustment handle and then take the backlash!

New ones have an indicator line on top now, and a bit of a recess around the indicator, mine was proper set on top when I got it, and the camlock was rotated properly.. Works well, RCBS primer brushes work in it, amd told an RCBS 3 way cutter head does also.

I wanted to say thank you. This was very informative. And one of the best presented. Constructive criticism, you could have shortened it with a bit of editing, but that is a minor issue. Far too many people have no business putting videos out there. Thankfully you do not fall into that category!
We already watched one video on this product and you far surpassed him in pertinent information.
Again, thank you very much and I am definitely hitting the subscribe button.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
You have saved me hours of messing about trying to find the best case prep tool.
This is going to be the one I will be ordering, £320 over here in UK.
Is there anything I will need to include that isn't already in the kit.
I only reload for .223 rem. Thanks D.

Thank you for this very informative video. It helped me get my case prep center up and running. The printed instructions from Hornady were appallingly inadequate, and they had nothing helpful on their website.

I have this station.... So my question is this. I use a tumble case cleaner with Walnut media. I have read where guys put nu finish car wax in tumbler.. Your thoughts? 2nd... Would you say to remove primer prior to cleaning? 3rd Remove primer after tumbling because the case has to be trimmed then i can use the primer pocket cleaner on this station after trimming? I am just now putting together the equipment to reload so i am very new starter. I have the hornady LNL progessive press, with this case trimmer station. I will be reloading my first round which is the Hornady Leverevolution FTX 255gr 44 mag. The brass will be once fired... Any suggestions to help this process? Thank you for this outstanding video to set up my case prep station.

Seems pretty fiddly to set up, how does it hold these adjustments over time, any slippage or parts coming loose from wear? Like others have said good info and in depth review.

Great job on the video! I received one of these for Christmas and have been using your video as my primary reference! Hornady did add a reference mark on the top of the unit so someone is listening out there! I do have an issue I'm hoping you can help me with. When dropping the press handle I get to a certain point (prior to brass contacting the cutter) where it catches/binds a little and I have to add a little more pressure to get past this point. It's not a smooth, continuous motion from top to bottom. This appears to be happening inside the shaft housing. Any help would be appreciated!

Actually I just figured it out........the trimmer spindle is either to small or the spindle housing is to big. The spindle is catching where the top hex portion of the spindle ends and goes back to cylindrical. Guess I'll be calling Hornady next week. Ugh......

Ok... SO I just got one. I wouldn't have spent the $$$ except... 1) I had the points on my VISA from lots of work travel so it was kindof free 2) My hands get badly cramped if I use a trimmer like the WFT & 3) I am holding pretty tight case lengths 1.750-1.752 with 223.. My thoughts are... I am probably not processing any much faster but I can go longer. The chamfer tools that come with it SUCK... I installed the ones from my lyman hand tools. Much better.
Was it worth it... yes... will it be worth it for other people... you decide

Will this do pistol brass? My main purpose is to trim 9x19 parabellum to 9x18 Makarov. Great instructional video.

    • @hornadyloader7574
      @hornadyloader7574  7 лет назад

Most pistol brass is so short that you'll end up melting the index wheels. This is primarily for rifle cartridges.

      Neil Beri Hi Neil,
I guess as with any piece of equipment it depends on how well you care for your gear. I got mine the year after it came out. I think it came out in 2009 so I'm thinking I've had it for 5 years now. I have literally 10's of thousands of cases through it and have never had a problem. I've heard of others who have had some problems but thankfully I have not experienced the same issues.
Even if a problem does arise, Hornady has a lifetime warranty on their reloading gear so I'm not too worried about breakdowns. I've had very good response to problems that I've had with other Hornady gear, even my 20 year old LNL AP Press. They replaced my sub-plate for free even after 15 years of use.
So to answer your question, it's still running strong after 5 years of use. It's only been on the market for 6 years so I guess time will tell if it has an "expiration date" when things stop working.

I've been very disappointed with my Hornady Power Case Prep Center. The internal parts are plastic; the teeth on the plastic gears don't hold up. The spindle shouldn't twist, but it does. My non-Hornady shellholders don't work. (Standardized shellholder sizes? We don't need no stinking standards!) Overall, the quality isn't up to the lowest of Chinese standards.
