    I'd LOVE to see a periodic "finishing details" video where you finish the projects you didn't have time for. That way they get done and you get content out it.

    What if you scheduled a “Last 5%” video every months? You’d write into your schedule, you’d get things completed in a reasonable time, and “Last 5%” is catchy and the consistency will make for a good series ;)

    For others planning to do a caulk project like this, NEVER caulk around the toilet. Caulk will prevent leaks from showing themselves. Instead of the leak appearing around the bottom of the toilet so you can address them quickly without damage, caulk forces the water to sit UNDER the toilet bowl and the water will find a new way out, usually around the subfloor so you'll have to completely demo the floor and possibly the floor joists/ceiling if the bathroom is upstairs. If you install any kind of flooring and want a clean look around the toilet, the toilet should be pulled out so the flooring can go under the toilet then reinstall with a fresh wax ring ($5).

    We installed a landline because my parents insisted. I was just humoring them and then we had a family emergency on day the cell tower for my area went down. Hearing my mom's "I told you so" stung a bit. Plus! As a person that has been known to lose her phone around the house, I just use it to call myself when I am alone instead of looking everywhere.

    We absolutely still have a landline! Cellphones don't always work in our area; or the reception is bad. So we will definitely keep our landline. It's also important for a childcare provider to have access to a phone. They may not have a cell. Also, I didn't want kids trying to hold a cell up to their ear when talking to relatives. ❣️

    I have to comment on the plug-in air freshener you have in the bathroom. The chemicals in those are so bad and I know you are careful about what you use especially with the baby. A diffuser with natural essential oils would be so much better. 💅

    • @julie9785
      @julie9785 2 месяца назад +4

      Agree on the harmful chemicals from air fresheners. Especially when you’re growing a tiny human. Can you consider some natural things like eucalyptus,baking soda in a decorative container,or I even put fresh coffee beans in my waste baskets.

    To each his own, but I come from a contractor family and I would never do the silicone like that. It leaves it looking like a clothesline rope around the edge. It should actually be concaved inward so it's not so noticeable. You do this by laying the bead then running your finger along it so it actually goes down into the crack or space. They also make a little tool you can do this with if you don't want to use your finger.

    • @biggyziggy5777
      @biggyziggy5777 2 месяца назад

      @@biggyziggy5777 water does nothing. You either need a drop of dishsoap in it to create a surface on the material or use special "lube" for caulk.

    Macenna, when you're aplying silicone on tiles or any flat not porous surface you can use this technique, it's lot faster and you get even cleaner look! Use spray bottle with half dish soap half water, spray it down on surface where you want to put silicone, apply silicone, spray it again with same solution and use rubber joint trowel. You can choose trowel by different types of corners (the one for bigger or thinner joint, rounded, 90degree etc..). I guarantee that you are done in 20minutes :) p.s. for cleaning trowels and extra silicone you'll need only paper towels

  • @YehaaMaria

    Herbs need sun to grow. They are pretty finicky that way. But there are plenty of shade loving plants that would make for a lovely window box. There are a lot of tropical plants that can handle the shade (being under tree canopies). Think coleus, spider plants, etc. Everything is coming along!!!!

    Hi :) A little tip: there are things called Joint smoother for silicone, you just dip them in a bowl of water with a bit of ditergent and go over the edge... you don´t have to tape it anymore :)

    We have a landlines in case cell phones are down and I need to call 911 for fires and medical emergencies. I live in a rural area, and the neighborhood is spread out with acreages.

    I agree with Romeo. Plus being OCD I wouldn't be able to stand things not getting finished. Nice job on the caulking!! Looks great. So do you

    One project at a time is enough when you’re pregnant! You accomplish so much, you must remember to take it easy on yourself. Kitchen is going to be epic, so much better as one big space ❤

    I have a landline. 🙋‍♀️ It's still useful in this part of the world. And my parents refuse to part with it.

    MaCenna I mean this with nothing but absolute love! Romeo is totally valid in feeling that way about unfinished projects - I myself as a viewer feel the same way lol! I want to see 100% finished projects too! The videos are about the projects usually, it's only right to finish that project 100%! Also, I've realized recently - just because you see people say on social media something relatable doesn't mean it's okay to keep doing something you know isn't benefiting you or those around you. Truly mean this with love I hope this isn't going to come of offensive. Your creations are beautiful and I can't get enough of it! 😄

    I can't believe where you were actually standing used to have the aubergine cabinetry as your background 😂 I'm so excited! I hope you prepared some transitions, like you're standing in the old kitchen and in a snap, you're in the new one! Oh, that'd be so cool

    We still have a landline bc we have kids and they need to be able to call for help if something happens to us. Also, I lived through the blackout in NYC in 2003 and the cell lines were so jammed from it and cell phones couldn’t be changed … I’ll never live without a landline ever. Just something to think about…

    Very fun video. You are right about a house needing constant maintenance. Ours is 70 years old and I think it’s living its best life.
    Your house is more beautiful with every project you do on it. ❤

    If you cut the end of the silicone at a 45° angle you will get a much smoother line. It looks fab, not sure I could be bothered to do all that taping 😂
