Same I use to watch a playthrough on RUclips when I was little and love the series so much and now the dream finally comes true a remake and a collection😊
I was happy too and nearly fell off my seat and screamed with joy, and then I found out it won't have multiplayer :( So disappointing. It looks so good too but multiplayer is what really set Secret of Mana series games apart. I hope Nintendo reconsiders and adds it in! So many others have the same sentiment in these comments and elsewhere so far, and many are saying they won't be buying it without multiplayer. I'm not saying it doesn't look amazing, but I am super disappointed that they would remove multiplayer from a game that is best and always has been better played with others. I am very much hoping Nintendo sees this before its release and adds it in. I seriously wouldn't care waiting another 1-2 years and paying more just to have multiplayer!
I won't lie to you, the last time I had this kind of "pit of my stomach" excitement was back when I was a kid and they'd first announced Link to the Past. I was so riled up about this that I immediately bought Collection of Mana on the switch store, and kept my German Shepherd awake all night trying to tell her about the different music tracks.
The faithful art and design of the characters and environments is amazing. And they put in such quality and charm into it too. Night and Day from the original Secret of Mana remake. Thankfully, the remastered Soundtrack in this one also seems to be a huge contrast from the first game's remake.

The same. I remember attempting to play the translation before emulators could play it (it was hacked into English using actual SNES hardware). For a few years, the real test of emulators was being able to play the English translation of SD3, as it has some custom stuff in it that wouldn't display correctly in emulators, while the Japanese version would work fine.
Square Enix is in a remake/remaster mood lately so we never know. Don't get your hopes up but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if they did remaster it now.
@@ndnixlon9548 He's talking about the 3D remake being made, it's shown off in the latter half of this presentation as a stand alone title, not part of the collection of mana.
Wonder if we'll get more silly character interactions like what they did for the Secret of Mana remake. When staying at Inn's and whatnot you pretty much got skits(like the skits from the Tales of series) where they show off more of their personalities and how they interact with one another.
Yeah I was wondering if they would just change palettes like they did in the original as well. I mean some of the palette swaps looked AMAZING, but now that it's possible, I'd expect them to make them actually change their looks to something similar to their menu icon appearances, as they looked significantly different than just mere color changes. It'd give me more replay value just in seeing what they all look like.
Yeah, I can't imagine a Paladin having those mercenary like leather garbs of his, would look silly. But I wonder if classes will be even be a thing? In the bio, it says nothing about Duran's class, which seems odd for a character selection screen that goes into detail about the character's stats and backstory.

See, now THIS is how remakes of 16/32 bit top-down perspective games should be handled. I was so excited to see that The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past would be getting a sequel back in 2013, but that excitement lasted right up until I saw that it was sticking with a top-down perspective. What Square Enix has done here is superb - Trials of Mana not only feels similar to the original, but it also expands the world within the game and enhances the immersion, making the game feel modern yet faithful. This is truly great.
This is more than a game to me. You guys have no idea what Seiken Densetsu 3 means to me.... 2 minutes in and I had to stop this video because I could not keep my composure. I am not going to continue watching this game because it will trigger an anxiety attack, I can feel it coming. I just want to play this game (and the remake) so badly now but unfortunately I don't have the means to do so (I don't own a Switch and my PC is over 12 years old, so I doubt I could run it on STEAM). My only hope is a miracle to happen in my finances so I can afford to play it by the time the game comes out. Once it does and I am able to play it, honestly my life would be complete and I'd die happy.
It’s beautiful. Tears man. 25 years since that tease in Nintendo Power. Plus the remake looks great. A great balance of original design with modern aesthetics.
Thank you, I've been waiting for an official release for so long and now we get both the original and a pretty remake... Can't wait to play both and hear what you have done with the music for the remake
I was waiting for this game since 1995, i was a teenager when this game came out in Japan. The same happened to us in Europe with Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG and Tales of Phantasia for Super Nintendo. The 90's, what a gread decade.
@@Mithrandirkun A great decade with the worst waiting periods between Japanese and European game releases, lesser versions and the occasionnal gem not releasing at all here indeed T_T I am so grateful for today's worldwide issues and the abundance of information and means to import stuff.

Thank You Square-Enix, thank you Nintendo, that´s what we the fans requested for years. :)
I imported fully boxed copies of SD3, Tales of Phantasia, and Star Ocean from Japan... then ordered a few repro's of those games to play the translated versions on the SNES. I honestly never thought I'd see the day SD3 would come to the US. I am overjoyed and beyond hyped.
@@TheXev I had hope that someday this game could be in a digital shop, or in a bundle... but, officially translated to so many languages and with this good-looking remake? Never, unthinkable, more coming from the Disappointing SoM remake of the last year. I´m very happy with this announcement. For me is even more important than the Breath of the wild 2 announcement. Nintendo and Square-Enix had all my attention on the E3 by far with all their new releases, the collection of mana that i alredy ordered my physical copy and Trials of Mana Remake. Next Monday i´m going to buy finally my Nintendo Switch.
OMFG the nostalgia hits so hard. I played this SO much. Those hours grinding to get that first class change early, grinding in Castle Rolante while Nuclear Fusion played. Grinding again to get the ??? seeds too later. I wonder if they'll have an actual name now lol. Man Im hyped AF!

this is actually my game of show for all E3. I played the translated emu of SD3 on the SNES. Its THE best Mana game, was as ambitious as Chrono Trigger.
I'm kind of in shock, I can't believe this is actually getting remade, so many hours class changing and trying out different party combos and I'm hyped to do it all again!
@@connordutton674 Yeah, two upgrades per character going light/dark and then light/dark again for 10 per character changing their stats and abilities greatly. finally showing some love for this game, super underrated. played this completely in japanese in my snes with adapter. happy for old and new gamers, this is a must play IMO.
I was worried this remake would not be proper homage to the original, but I'm glad I was wrong. Even in full 3D it maintains the spirit and and improves the mechanics of the SFC one, and it works great this time. Absolutely looking forward to this. :)

Interesting game mechanic. I played SD3 on ZSNES and its mechanic was pretty good. Now this one... it's going to be very interesting. I'm looking forward to it.
One of the few 3D remakes that Im actually excited about. Theyre almost always ruined (looking at you SoM remake), but this looks good. Also really happy that we get the Collection too!
2 months til the physical release... I can wait... I can wait... I literally freaked out in joy when I saw this announced. It was unexpected and I'd joked the day before E3 that this is what I wanted to see but never expected it to happen. The upcoming remake which looks fantastic is just icing on the cake. The 3D version looks a lot easier, so hopefully they can add some more difficulty options or something to off-set that! Looks really good though, reminds me a lot of Dragon Quest in terms of its aesthetics.
One thing I didn't like is the game handholding you with markers above npcs and doors and minimap, it turns exploration and dialogue meaningless. I remember I used to get stuck in many places when I played this long ago, I learned english playing this game.
@@ribvra We don't know how much of that is just the demo build. However, it's a modern game and all of them hold your hand more now. It was just a different era when SD3 came out.
@@DeltathRiylaan But this is a different level of handholding, the game is literally guiding you to the objectives, you don't even have to think. That's why FromSoftware gets massive respect in the industry, it doesn't treat gamers like idiots.
Hyped about it as a game, but I wish the 3D art director had higher ambitions and better understanding for atmospheric, ambient colours. The colour contrast feels like a knife in my eyes. Like; wood is brown, grass is green, rocks are beige, shadows are black... when actually everything reflects the sky and is picking up colours from each element around itself. And all the greenery should sort of also grow on the rocks a little bit. It all looks very “virtual” to me 😢 I have too high expectations perhaps..
I just read there is no co-op in the remake? This can't be true! This is one of the best co-op adventures in existence, if not Thee best! Please tell square enix to keep the co-op! Make it online too :( please
@@zzz43344 it's real. They want to focus on making it a good single player game and also focus on the story telling. So, no co-op... It hurts me. Spread the word. Maybe if enough people ask about it, they will make an update that adds online multiplayer or local multiplayer with 2 switches or something. I don't think split screen would work.
Please don´t make it a single player! Everyone, especially the ones that never had a chance to play a mana game, should have the chance to play it with their friends. please make it the coop game that it was on the snes!

I like seeing some who loves a game as much as I do. This is how I would feel if Pikmin 4 was announced... or Sonic Adventure 3.
My advice is work hard for some quick cash. :) doesnt matter the job cause you know its gonna be worth it. 😎
It’s beautiful. Tears man. 25 years since that tease in Nintendo Power. Plus the remake looks great. A great balance of original design with modern aesthetics.
Neill Corlett and SoM2Freak
Thanks.
I'm SUPER excited for this remake... Hopefully the game isn't too easy though, or they have a hard mode toggle.
This is a proper remake. Not just the same game but with better graphics but a scorched earth reimagining with improved gameplay.
Wow this is amazing. I remember playing the original when I was like only 11 years old.
When i was a kid, i waited for this game that never came out in Europe for Super Nintendo. Same story happened with Chronno Trigger, Tales of Phantasia and Super Mario RPG.
Finally i can oficially play this game at last T_T, and moreover we got this awesome Remake, with a waaaay much better Quality than the SoM Rmk.
Now THAT'S a true remaster.
Let's forget that the previous Secret of Mana "remake" ever existed.
It's mandatory I get this. No questions lol my childhood demands it 🤣
One of my favorite games ever gets a remake? Yes please! Thanks so much Square Enix and Nintendo for making this happen.
Not just the remake, but the original now has a full english translation.
I'm so happy to get to play an official release of SD3 and the remake looks amazing! I hope we can one day see Live a Live, Front Mission Gun Hazard, and Bahamut Lagoon!
Never heard of this series before, but it looks great! I think the art style is really cute, and I love the character designs.
beanut butter never?!!!! Omg you missed out on some quality rpgs
I wanna see Kevin transform.
Man, those memories of my childhood, I always went to my friend's house just to play this game and sometimes we do trade our SNES-Super Famicom and cartridges so I can play this at my home. So glad that I can play this again and the remake looks awesome! Another more reason to burn my paycheck!
They attacked the giant enemy crab in its weak point for massive damage.
I love the Terra Pfp and FF6 is the best in the series!❤️💚
That's an old joke amd it still made me laugh.
The characters are so pretty!
Started playing the original yesterday, it's great!
Duran lacks a bit of impact, but everything else is LOVE!
Also that fairy is cute!
Yeah, I miss the heavy, slow, swings of his SNES self.
Thank you Square and Nintendo. Now the Chrono Trigger Remake is that much closer to reality.
this is actually my game of show for all E3. I played the translated emu of SD3 on the SNES. Its THE best Mana game, was as ambitious as Chrono Trigger.
same
I just need it to have online multiplayer
Black Rabite in 3D......BRING IT ON YOU LITTLE SOB! XD
Oh God... OH GOD
Don't even talk about it...
nightmare incarnate
Aghhh! I hope they add more extra bosses Lmao the more the merrier and replay value!
I went from knowing almost nothing about SD3 to wanting to play this remake now. Dang, it looks nice!
I envy you, I wish I could play it for the first time again. It is one of the best games ever with incredible music !
I am stupidly happy to see the series getting the attention and respect that it deserves. The project is turning out wonderfully.
The new version looks fantastic. It's beautifully faithful and also something new. Going to really miss the multiplayer though.
Are they not adding the multiplayer?! I was hoping they'd add it as well as add in online multiplayer. Netplay always was troublesome ;-;
Man, This is actually a dream come true.
Ummm the 3D version looks so amazing. I cannot wait to play it. WAAAAY too many good games on the switch.
have a goosebumps when i saw this and one of my favorite game since 90s. happy that it has a remake..
Wow I can't wait! I'm playing Trials Of Mana in the collection now
I'm kind of in shock, I can't believe this is actually getting remade, so many hours class changing and trying out different party combos and I'm hyped to do it all again!
Never played the original but this is a buy, so does this game have jobs you can switch to or class upgrades etc.
@@connordutton674 Yeah, two upgrades per character going light/dark and then light/dark again for 10 per character changing their stats and abilities greatly.
They are a major motivator when playing and give the game massive replayability. Unfortunately the old SD3 SNES version had a lot of bugs but they are probably gonna rebalance everything.
22:26 Apparently Riesz's hair has it's own personality
Riesz has class changed into Shantae
finally showing some love for this game, super underrated. played this completely in japanese in my snes with adapter. happy for old and new gamers, this is a must play IMO.
Please don't take out multiplayer. Other than that, this looks like a solid good remake.
I made a rabbite pillow in high school, in the 90s. Loved this series and still do.
OMG ITS SO FANTASTIC Yeah I Love You! Thank you soooo much i cant believe it. Yessssssss
I was worried this remake would not be proper homage to the original, but I'm glad I was wrong. Even in full 3D it maintains the spirit and and improves the mechanics of the SFC one, and it works great this time. Absolutely looking forward to this. :)
Nintendo
Steam says this game is Single player only
On behalf of the Mana community *Please make it online multiplayer*
I will actually make sure 3 games get bought just for my playthrough
And also local, for people with only one computer.
@@yokaiju8909
That would be a bit harder given the gameplay style though split screen is always an option
The main point is co-oping through the story was a blast back in the day and it would very much so be a blast nowadays
What a great day to be alive witnessing this, 2020 is already full of promises from the start.
I would like a Terranigma remake next please, thank you my friends.
Thank you Square Enix!!!
Oh look, I can finally LEGITIMATELY PAY FOR AND OWN this game. I don't have to freakin' emulate it anymore... HINT HINT, Nintendo. -_-
The first sneak peak literally made me cry.
I just bought Collection of Mana yesterday. Playing FFA
Wanna invite me to your house?
Jictapus ! Sure
Thank you Nintendo and Square for remaking and bringing the classic to the west!
The 3D version looks a lot easier, so hopefully they can add some more difficulty options or something to off-set that! Looks really good though, reminds me a lot of Dragon Quest in terms of its aesthetics.
I think they set a higher level for the presentation because the characters have 400+ maxHP here where they should have around 100 at level 1.
They already made it QUITE clear that this was a demo build and was easier than normal. Bonus levels, weak enemies and huge skips
The most pleasant surprise to come out of E3 this year!
One of my favorite emulator RPGs!
This is why I prefer originals in general. The remake looks all same and wishy-washy. Still cool they’re making this, but it’s not for me.
I just read there is no co-op in the remake? This can't be true! This is one of the best co-op adventures in existence, if not Thee best! Please tell square enix to keep the co-op! Make it online too :( please
Wait, for real?
@@zzz43344 it's real. They want to focus on making it a good single player game and also focus on the story telling.
So, no co-op... It hurts me. Spread the word. Maybe if enough people ask about it, they will make an update that adds online multiplayer or local multiplayer with 2 switches or something. I don't think split screen would work.
@@GodleyX Aw man... :(
one of my most anticipated games of 2020
Please don´t make it a single player! Everyone, especially the ones that never had a chance to play a mana game, should have the chance to play it with their friends. please make it the coop game that it was on the snes!
Im in the same thinking. Hopefully theyll make an update that includes co-op later Dx
I'm loving how much love is put into this remake, thank you square
