This video brilliantly shows how facing our inner darkness is essential for personal growth and heroism.

What I am most impresived by Jungian philosophy is “Embrace Our Shadow”. This process of self-acceptance and understanding unlocks personal growth and allows us to harness the energy we previously spent hiding those aspects. This is a great sharing, thanks so much!

Thank you so much to the channel for such a high-quality video! The analysis of Jung and his perspective on psychology is truly impressive. The video is not only engaging but also makes me reflect on my own role in life.

The labeling of qualities as "positive" and "negative" like that is the root of the problem tho. The idea of referring to "darkness" is largely to do with its being unseen. For most people fear is little more repressed than boldness. They merely don't see that their "negative" qualities like anger also contain their assertiveness, courage, some of their authenticity, etc. We throw out the baby with the bathwater when we repress qualities because of painful experience and conformity to perceived ideals. As Jung said many have a shadow full of gold. Why is the villain always extremely bold, courageous, creative, etc? Imagine having those qualities while maintaining your other qualities. One could react more honestly and feely to any situation. The "positive" qualities become negative because they have no balance. Strict moral ideals of kindness allow immorality to flourish (within and without) and people to step on you. Not to mention you will be controlled by your repressed qualities. The video doesn't fully capture the deeper moral qualities associated with this idea. The conscious personality becomes toxic and our perception of morality turns to hypocrisy and so much more. Jung shared the idea of Enantiodromia-how opposites flip into each other (especially when extreme). We can see this in how chemicals work in the brain. There is a reciprocal balancing attempting homeostasis. This is why your dopamine rush leads to a crash and the next dopamine spikes are less and less than the first (compared this to our capacity to be "good" when we are repressing). So the idea is the ego actually turns into it's opposite all the time and hence the perspective one has of how to be is actually the root of all evil. One could see the Eden myth as representing this as the fall was a result of eating of "the knowledge of good and evil"-of splitting and judging. Repressing qualities you don't approve of is the root of all evil. And it is exactly that attempt to be the way one thinks they should be that is the cause. So your attempted "goodness" is arguably "evil". At root humans are inherently pretty decent. They can be harsh at times in their natural state but it's like salt. Too much is terrible but just enough is perfect. Just be natural. Don't AIM to be "good" and you will be.

What if I’ve already become who I truly am? And who I really am is not a hero at all? 🙄

The narrator is so hard to listen to, can we try to use a more smooth sounding American accent narrator instead? The British accent tone is just so up & down & sounds like trying so hard to pronounce the words but actually more difficult to hear clearly. Thank you!

@ it’s not narrow minded, just being honest…
I listen to this video before sleep, I can’t hear the words clearly because the strong accent & up down tones.
Not saying British accent is not good, your narrow minded misinterpretation is twisting my feedback & honest opinion.

@ this is a very good educational channel, if the host really want it to grow big & better, should use a more neutral & professional non heavy accent narrator to cater to more global viewers.
If you think this kind of feedback is narrow minded, then I guess you’re just too Brit to get it…

As an American, I have had no issue whatsoever listening to this. If you're having issues understanding clear English, then maybe get your ears checked. Imagine actually taking the time to write a comment requesting an accent change because YOU couldn't manage to understand? I think you're trolling cause nobody is that stupid.
