Beating Minecraft's Hardest Modpack With Nothing // Episode 5 - Pool Party 2 - Electric Boogaloo

- In this fifth episode of the series, I exploit the power of spicy rock juice to claw my way into LV, dabble unsuccessfully in modern architecture, and give a double-barreled one-finger salute to traditional circuit crafting mechanics by throwing a morally suspect and OSHA non-compliant pool party on my neighbors' property.
GT - New Horizons is an intricately designed and custom-coded kitchen-sink style modpack built on the 1.7.10 version of Minecraft. It integrates hundreds of Minecraft's flagship mods into a Gregtech framework - completely overhauling the mods' traditional progression in the process, and radically rebalances any of the technologies those mods may offer.
Because doing things the normal way is 'too easy', I am following a ruleset based off of the (in)famous Garden Of Grind ruleset that places me in a completely empty superflat dimension. Every single resource I need, including blocks to stand on, has to be created out of nothing by finding clever workarounds and weird mechanics. Unlike in Garden Of Grind, I am not restricted to only my starting dimension - it's just that every other dimension starts out just as empty as my first one.
This pack is available on both the Curseforge and Technic launchers. You can also get the pack directly from the development GitHub.

I love watching this series because I don’t understand any of it and I just feel like he’s able to pull random game mechanics out of his ass and that’s really entertaining to me
Bro so true!
I do understand it and yes, that's exactly what he's doing
Your pfp has confused vibes (love over the garden wall)
Same, hahaha!!
loud smart things my pea sized brain can not understand
this is like watching nile red turn disposable gloves into grape soda; i dont understand anything that is going on and yet i watch and enjoy it anyway
the last place I expected to find a NileRed reference
This is the funniest comparison seen omfg😭 /pos
Honestly he does sound like him in a good way ofc niles smart af
abusing interactions between two mods in one of the most polished modpacks ever is the most special thing to me
"Less is more should only apply to the framerate." Man had me chortling
I’m 100% going to start quoting this
this series is weirdly fascinating.
I think the combination of your style of video-making combined with the fact I've never seen someone do a challenge like this outside vanilla is a lot of it for me.
That villager-powered redstone clock (slip-n-slide) is now my favorite Minecraft thing ever. He looked so happy to help.
The "I'm constantly being ganged by sentient toilet mold" killed me hahaha 🤣
"We need more copper. You know the drill." No I do not and that makes it all the more entertaining XD
I couldn’t imagine doing this modpack in hardcore mode, imagine yourself progressing to the LV age and you just get boiled alive by touching a pipe that contains molten steel.
well, you wouldn't even make it thay far, because to get dirt blocks you need to die in the void
@@dnidaz2553he didnt say this challange but said this modpack
@@dnidaz2553I said this modpack, not this challenge.
i cant imagine playing pretty much any modpack in hardcore, tried a few once but died so many times because of some mechanic that i didnt know of
You'd die to a random sheep first
Put on the playlist, zoned out partway into episode 2, wake up partway into this episode .... it looks unrecognisable
Love how the narration just keeps getting more sarcastic & tongue-in-cheek xD
19:13 signs work like this in modern minecraft too, idk any version of minecraft where signs *don't* work like that. maybe it was changed once and then reverted soon after?
Might also be something a mod messes with, and there's some confusion going on.
Oh so thats why disassembler was deleted. K
Nah stuff like this is maybe op and overlooked but this wasn’t the reason. When it was removed they cited a bunch of item dupes, with new ones showing up every time they fixed the existing ones
even though i will never play this mod it is quite interesting to watch the progression in this challenge vacuum
to think all this started from a void world from absolutely nothing except a piece of glass that was shattered to nothing
We really love this "Welcome back~" thing you have going on. Such warmth...
Great episode! I so wish they didn't remove the disassembler in 2.5.1
Huh, didn't know they did that
Oh Disassembler! How missed art thee
Fairly certain you can crouch + right click graves to get all items back and that you don't need to mine them.
Yeah I hate how wasteful he is
@@Dodozen free dirt if you pick it up before it falls to the void
I do not believe that works for openblocks graves, at least not in the version gtnh is in
This series is great. I love the post commentary, it's different but it works
insane gregtech enjoyer podcast before going to sleep
You should be the next voice over for "How it's Made"
"he was a clay trader and therefore unimportant" - my whole life in a nutshell
this series must have been incredibly painful to edit, oh my god. You have my respect and awe
I love this stuff, I’ve always found Greg tech lets plays kinda boring but you genuinely keep it interesting
RIP Clay Villager, you probably won't be missed
"the phrase: "Less is more", only applies to my framerate" had me cracking.
i've been binging this series for the past day please dont stop, this shit is exactly what i love to see
So glad I found this, it's like my tism show now
Really been enjoying this series! Your commentary is very entertaining :)
such a good series
29:20 Hey have you heard about Sisyphus?
No??
OK, you’re Sisyphus now.
I really love your videos
Keep it up
This is my new favorite series, keep it up
go forth, pale young man, go forth!
i love the youtube dooblidoos
"Less is more should only apply to framerate". I love this guy.
Really enjoying the series!
I like your videos, they’re really entertaining. Keep it up
Thx again for continuing this series
im loving binging this
May the thing be with you
Uh, Babies swim just fine in real life. It's toddlers and children who "forget" how to swim. 🤓☝
Might be the funniest thing I've read today
Babies just hold their breath really well.
"'Less is more' should only apply to the framerate"
Great series
6:44 this happens to me so often that I started using my STEM degree as an excuse for being unable to do basic math
The bender definitely isn't an ATLA reference.
It's a futurama reference.
27:47 did you just turn little black worms into centipedes?
congragulations if you got that reference
Yes!
I turn potato pancakes
Into little black squash balls
@@soldierlycat551 the magic and the mystery
Of Potato Knishes
Enjoying the chaos.
Oh man it is like the water park in South Park
I knew that reminded me of something 😆
I know im late but him not using the fact that mobs inside of climbable blocks have no collision and therefore dont suffer from entity cramming is killing me
very cool video!!
Slimes even ignore mob-repellators
you turned a human village into a tyson chicken slaughter house to get coal
I really like your humour
I feel like torches and pistons make pretty easy redstone clocks since you can use the length of the piston extending to slow down the tick time of the clock which would also make it not so expensive on redstone but a slippy slide is pretty funny as a solution. Also railcraft trains were pretty stable compared to minecarts and minecart instabillity is pretty much a feature i loved the old cart boosters people made literal proper railing systems once that was discovered and it was real sad when it got fixed for the lamer booster rails. Anyone remember those things?
I am "inclined to that sort of thing."
Commenting, this series is great!
Awesome
I love our lot of jank!
very good
I felt that conversation on Railcraft. I was really excited when it got a port to modern Minecraft versions!
...because it meant I'd have access to its boilers and tanks. The former of which I suspect is largely not relevant here since GregTech has better solutions. It's not even useful for Coke and Steel anymore; *Immersive Engineering* has that covered.
>crushible
When you said copper ore berries were useless I was like ???
I use them a lot. Not sure why they don't like them.
Algo boosting
Grate vid
Maybe I missed something in the previous episodes, I understand how the first bucket of lava was achieved, but how does that become more lava for the smeltery in the future? Alchemy? Machines locked behind alloys?
He just kept buying lava combs and extracting them
@@James2210 Oh, I guess that makes sense. I just figured that he meant he could make as much as he wanted, not so much that he could get as much as he bothered to find trades for.
to be fair, when you have a stem degree, who has time for basic arithmetic anyways? most of the time you round up to the nearest ten just to be safe
i dont know if it works on 1.7.10 but if you get vines then you can stop cramming just by putting them where the entities are
so cool
30:34 if there is not much else to do in a cursed skyblock variant, you gotta have something like this to do
I fully understand you, have a great dqy 🎉
17:25 Nope... its a Futurama reference
glad somebody got it! i was waiting for him to mention Bender, but it never happened 😔
that dissassembler nonsense is vile, and didn't they remove the dissasembler in later versions?
nice camp
nice😊
you gained 600 subs overnight!!!
forgetting basic arithmetic comes free with stem degrees
22:06 "just like in real life babies cant swim very well" did you know babies are actually remarkably not as bad as you'd think at swimming? im mean theyre still really bad, but not as bad as you'd think
Do gold nuggets also have 1 lucrum? I wonder if making a nugget mold would’ve allowed you to get 9 trades out of 1 ingot instead of the wire approach
I lost track of what was happening 2 episodes ago
I'm surprised that you need to hit mobs that are dying on the golden spikes, I thought they worked fine. Maybe its diamond spikes that generate xp without a player hit...
yes, diamond spikes simulate player damage
In what version does water break signs? Made me doubt myself lol
im sad he didnt use the cookie to diamond interaction
engagement!!!
Imagine not being in 'before 1k gang'
Copper 😢
This soret of weird game mechjanic ladders remind me of factorio sea-block.
Plz turn the machine sounds down lol it's v hard to hear your voice through them

To be honest i didnt even know the disassembler was a thing. 😮
i love yourtube
Feed the algorithm!
Man u have some wierd priorities in life
Somehow Minecraft always turns into some nightmarish colonialization simulator.

RUclips dooblee-doo comment.
9:35 you what
What is your degree in?
Have to disagree with you babies actually instinctually know how to swim once they learn how to walk they have to relearn how to swim irl
