Angel of music! 😢 She had gone with the wind in the year 2000 at the age of 35! Is this age of dying of a melodious queen of music? Oh why you left us so early? Do you hear my voice of crying? So adorable you are? So innocent you are? Why did you leave us so early? Was it so painful? 😢 Cancer is notorious enemy to mankind! Oh darling of eternal music, rest in peace!! 😢😢😢😢😢
I remember being a tiny little kid in Pakistan in 1980 and seeing cassettes with the above album cover on display in literally Every Karachi store my parents took me to. I would think wow, the lady who sings that lovely Disco Deewanay song my older cousins listen to, is everywhere! She is so famous! Years later as an adult with my own family, I am still looking at that album cover with the same feelings passing through me. Such was the magic of Nazia Hasan and those wonderful days in Pakistan. 10 years would pass before I would actually see her, in 1990, on a London Subway station platform. I was with my older cousin sister, tieing my shoe laces when I heard my cousin whisperingly say, "look! look! Look! There's Nazia Hasan!" As I looked up, I could see across the tracks on the opposite platform, this beautiful ethereal Pakistani woman walking, tall, glowing, and dressed in a single piece khaki dress up to her knees, straight hair pulled back and pulling what looked like a small wheeled suitcase. She was, after disembarking the train,, headed towards the escalators that lead to the exit and was close enough to us that we could hear the sound of her boots as she walked. Now it wasn't just us who were awestruck. As soon as she stepped off the train, the hustle and bustle of the subway station suddenly gave way to pin drop silence and there wasn't a single eye at that station that was not on her. Those who knew her were awestruck, and those who didn't were also awestruck, recognizing that they were in the presence of a personality. Years later, on a visit to Pakistan, I came to know that she was very sick and my heart went out to her until the day it almost stopped, hearing that she had passed, peacefully in London, after a brave battle with Cancer. Nazia passed? Really? Nazia?, everyone asked. I could not believe it. How would we as Pakistanis go on without her? She had been such a symbol of Pakistani arts, culture and captured the sheer essence for us of what it meant to be one of her kinsfolk. She had won the hearts of people around the world regardless of race, religion or national origin. Sometimes my heart still doesn't believe she's gone. But yes, she really was the older sister/daughter/mother of all our hearts; something we didn't quite understand, until she left us. But looking at her videos years later, I realized that she accomplished what she came to this earth to do; she not only experienced superstardom, and singing to crowds of hundreds of thousands, but she also experienced family and above all motherhood, and it was only then that she returned home, after her mission here was complete. All you who have taken the time to read this message, always be aware of what your own missions here are; do as much good, as possible, always treat others with respect and show kindness, and empathy towards all. You never know when your time may be up. Make your life story a beautiful one. I think if anything, Nazia Hassan taught me that. Thank You Nazia, for the life lessons you taught us. Be well, where ever you are, until we meet again.
The cassette cover with Nazia Hassan's picture brings back fond memories of my childhood. My mom used to listen to these songs in the stereo player that played big round cassettes. Inspite of being quite small the songs of this particular cassette was one of my favourites and I enjoyed them very much. Very happy to listen to this song after a long time.
I remember ..... ..I had a EP record of this song back then and now, listening to this song i realised that the record is in my store room . By chance i really find that same record but it is in very dirty condition . So, i clean it , now i am playing that record and enjoying this great song. Thanks god for bringing me to this video.
Magic combination of Nazia Hassan's awesomely angelic voice plus Biddu's amazing composition & production skills. Both Nazia & Biddu were on another level, the likes of we may never see again.
She is an unforgettable, beautiful soul, sensible person devoted her life later for needy ones and that's make her extraordinary apart from her melodious songs. Though i have not seen her in person but she is the best and second to none even today. She will always remain alive in our hearts forever ❤️ My heartfelt tribute to Nazia Ma'am 😔🙏
In my Ist inter...in 1982....my Chemistry sir Sri TGK and my tution batch always loved this album ...we started lessons only after hearing this album over PHILIPS STEREO DECK....

Even in present day Her music videos on RUclips receive comments of Her fans from Mexico, Peru, Brazil etc.. This is Nazia Hassan's Legacy.. About Her first song "Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zindagi Mein Aaye" : "She stood on the mic in a school uniform in London and changed the face of music in The Indian Subcontinent".. Nazia Hassan's Mother says, I remember Nazia in a school uniform ( Francis Holland School, London ), going to the Recording Studio through the Holiday. She recorded a song "Aap Jaisa Koi".. After recording this song, Nazia was busy with her studies and She could not even remember that she had sung any song in any Indian Film. When the film was released and the song became popular, then one day Raj Kapoor's phone rang and he said that the Filmfare Awards Committee has decided to give The Best Female Playback Singer Award to Nazia Hassan this year. Will you come to receive this award ? Can ? The hotel in Bombay where Nazia Hassan was staying was packed with Indian Media Representatives The award given to Nazia Hassan by Raj Kapoor himself and then every successful production house in the film industry including Raj Kapoor asked Nazia Hassan for her role as an actress in films with 'BLANK CHEQUE'.. Nazia Hassan's answer was in the form of refusal.. The age at which Nazia Hassan won The Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Award has not been repeated in the 67 year history of this award. She is considered as "The Pioneer of Pop Music in The Indian Subcontinent" She was named as "The Golden Girl" The Girl with Golden Voice, Heart & Soul.. She changed the music tradition that has prevailed in the Region for half a century. From the first talking film 'Aalam Ara' in 1931 to the year 1980, all the experiments were done. Nazia Hassan's TV interview with senior actress Baby Tabassum is the best "Trailer" of her personality. This interview is a complete reaction of Nazia Hassan's Family Background, Education and The Sincerity & Confidence found in Her personality. I have shared the link of this Interview below.. In addition to singing, She also engaged in Philanthropic Activities and was appointed by UNICEF as its Cultural Ambassador in 1991. Also She had worked at United Nations Security Council as Political Analyst. In 2014, Richmond American University, London gave Her a Posthumous Honorary Degree of Doctorate. Such was the magic of Nazia Hasan and those wonderful days in Pakistan.
10 years would pass before I would actually see her, in 1990, on a London Subway station platform. I was with my older cousin sister, tieing my shoe laces when I heard my cousin whisperingly say, "look! look! Look! There's Nazia Hasan!"
As I looked up, I could see across the tracks on the opposite platform, this beautiful ethereal Pakistani woman walking, tall, glowing, and dressed in a single piece khaki dress up to her knees, straight hair pulled back and pulling what looked like a small wheeled suitcase.

You never know when your time may be up. Make your life story a beautiful one. I think if anything, Nazia Hassan taught me that. Thank You Nazia, for the life lessons you taught us. Be well, where ever you are, until we meet again.

She will always remain alive in our hearts forever ❤️

This is Nazia Hassan's Legacy..
About Her first song "Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zindagi Mein Aaye" :
"She stood on the mic in a school uniform in London and changed the face of music in The Indian Subcontinent"..
Can ?
The hotel in Bombay where Nazia Hassan was staying was packed with Indian Media Representatives
The award given to Nazia Hassan by Raj Kapoor himself and then every successful production house in the film industry including Raj Kapoor asked Nazia Hassan for her role as an actress in films with 'BLANK CHEQUE'..
Nazia Hassan's answer was in the form of refusal..
The age at which Nazia Hassan won The Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Award has not been repeated in the 67 year history of this award.
She is considered as "The Pioneer of Pop Music in The Indian Subcontinent"
She was named as "The Golden Girl"
The Girl with Golden Voice, Heart & Soul..
This interview is a complete reaction of
Nazia Hassan's Family Background, Education and The Sincerity & Confidence found in Her personality.
