The thing with BTS is that there are seven very talented members who make up the group. They are all very different and each bring their own unique quality to the group. In V's case, he brings the sultry, deep vocals that when you hear it showcased on its own, has an almost jazz-like vibe.
He's definitely the old soul, soulful one, jazz head!! His voice is like this, but he just stylized it to the jazz vibe and he did it so amazingly he exceeded my expectations but check out his solo song Stigma, i think it showcases quite well his spectrum!

This is where Taehyung should be singing. Kpop forces him to sing falsetto, strained or breathy most of the time Here he is in his relaxed natural chest voice and my god is it amazing! Honestly HYBE needs to allow this man to sing like this. He is a natural crooner and will do best in Jazz, R&B, or blues. He has the widest vocal range which is Eb2 ~ D6. So that is 3 octaves, 5 notes and 1 semitone. Why HYBE forces him to sing strained darker tones is beyond me. This is where he needs to be.
I thoroughly agree! His voice shines so much here! I am really looking forward to his solo work because we will get to see his voice utilised at its best in his own unique musical colour and style that we otherwise would not see in BTS music.
I myself am not ready to give up on BTS. I love them as a group and of course they can do all the solo work they want but don't take away the group. They all shine individually and that is great. But when the day comes when there is no more BTS then I will have to change my thinking. But until that day happens I can't get enough of the group that is BTS.
If you want to heard their vocal try song like the truth untold, blue and grey or every of their japanese songs. Their slower song without hard choreo. They are better live, so maybe try the live version. V's voice is the first one caught my attention at the beginning i became Army.
